////////////////// With little sleep and lots of water, the Southwest District conquered ICON 2016! We had an amazing week with like-minded servant leaders and created memories and friendships of a lifetime.
////////////////// Watch the ICON general sessions on KCI’s YouTube channel!
I had no idea what I was going into and I wasn’t sure I would enjoy spending an entire week swimming in humidity. Little did I know, ICON was one of the best experiences of my Key Club journey! I had the opportunity to connect with servant leaders all over Key Club International through pin trading, workshops, lunches, sessions, and simply by adding one another on Snapchat. The key-note speakers during general sessions were very inspiring and brought new perspectives to our impact as servant leaders. It was great to see what our organization has accomplished throughout this past year and to get a glimpse of what’s in store for our future. Our district was represented by twenty-one chili peppers who took part in electing the 2016-17 International Board. I loved having the opportunity to bond with members from our very own district from late-night meetings to early-morning breakfasts. We toured the wonderful city of Atlanta and took power naps on the tour bus after jamming out to 2000s songs. I cannot wait to see what these members from our district will bring back to their home clubs. I hope to see all of you in San Antonio, TX next year!

ABOUT The Beads of Courage Program is designed to support and strengthen children and families coping with serious illness. Through the program, children tell their story using colorful beads as meaningful symbols of courage that commemorate milestones they have achieved along their unique treatment path. Each bead color and style has its own significance. Beads of Courage was our District’s Governor’s Project a few years ago!
