THE LIFE OF A MODEL
Yolandi Franken has reached some new highs in her modeling career and she shares her stories with us. Yolandi, tell us about yourself. I am a Sydney based Model, actress and screen producer. I am married with two dogs and I am currently the title holder of Miss Multiverse Australia 2015. In the past I was a finalist in Mrs. Australia and also in Mrs. Globe. I have a positive outlook on life and I enjoy any new experiences. What is your biggest dream? Am I supposed to say world peace? Haha. I will be feel that I have reached my dream when I can earn a living doing what I love and at the same time making a difference in people’s lives.
What does your day look like? Every day is different and it depends mostly on what job I am doing that day. In general I am not a morning person, I prefer to wake up late and not to be disturbed for an hour afterwards, haha. But when I have a job I am normally up early and it’s easy to get going. I have meetings, tasks for work, perhaps a photoshoot or audition or I attend functions. In between I also cook and clean the house, do grocery shopping and spend time with my husband and friends. Do you have a weakness?
I do have a weakness for food. Although I lead a heathy lifestyle in general, I can’t go too long without a little treat but I have to work hard not to have too many treats! I also tend to be too nice and I would sacrifice opportunities instead of fighting for it if it means I will cost or inconvenience someone else. However, if it is all up to me, I go out hard and work for something till I have it. Do you have a strength? I guess my people skills is a strength. I might not be the loudest one but I am always bubby and caring towards others. I get along with everyone it makes life allot easier. I am also a hard worker and I never give up.
How does your career fit into your family life? Family is always first, but having a job with no set hours and often long hours or time away from home, it can become a little difficult. I always try to make sure that I have as much balance as possible and that the time spent together is quality time. Even if it means spending quality time together instead of spring cleaning the house for example. My husband is very supportive and that makes the world of difference. What do you want to be when you grow up? A superhero that can teleport. Where can we find out more about you?
