PROLOGUE
Human society produces organizational forms that correspond to their respective productive capabilities. One day when I walked out of the scope of architecture design to an urban scale, suddenly I realize the world operate in a more sophisticated ways than how we planned. This is the time I realize that urban design is such a fascinating subject, where you can put your most fantastic visions for the future on, but it is far more beyond design once you try to make it real.
By making this portfolio, I would like to make a footnote for myself to frequently refer in the future, reminding the starting point of my career. Bearing in mind all those beautiful visions in my academic projects, I am looking forward to the adventures in real projects, to be more analytical, more critical and more practical.

Greenbriar Mall, once a vital shopping mall, is now facing aging and underperforming conditions like many suburban commercial plazas in the US. This project aims to re pair the fragmented street networks of the region and to design a next-generation tran sit hub integrated with autonomous vehicles and micro mobility to renovate the neighbor hood. A green space system overlay on the connected networks to promote equitable access and ecological repair to the area.

This project includes the redesign of the ma jor Hollywood Road as a way of connecting the adjacent neighborhoods, address flood ing issues, improve walkability, and reduce traffic speed. The road redesign plays a ma jor role in joining all of the interventions in this project including cemetery retrofits, a new rainwater park, and the Hollywood Court development proposal. The redesign will create continuous sidewalks, incorporate bike paths, make for smaller travel lanes to reduce speed, and incorporate green infra structure to clean, absorb, and direct water before it enters Proctor Creek.

Residential Areas
Hollywood Courts was built in 1969, contained 202 public housing units, and demolished in 2008. The site was originally part of Magnolia Cemetery, and situates near Proctor Creek along with several cemeteries from that time.
The new Atalanta Housing Authority development is an opportunity to address area wide flooding issues by tying it into a greater hydraulic network to embed it into the existing community since the site is in the botton of the subwatershed of Proctor Creek.

Choosing to be an architect and urban designer is a really rough journey once you start to sail in this broad sea. By first sight, you may just be attracted by its beautiful tranquil appearances, then the further and deeper you go, the more complexity and chaos you find below the surfaces. All these years of study, I have been struggling between the rational problem-tackling and emotional vision-creating process. I hope the following practices in the real world would be a new anchor point to push my accumulating ide as forward to be challenged, modified and promoted. I love cities.
Though now I realize they are shaped by thousands of forces other than the urban designer, I still feel the desire and enthusiasm to vision them a better future and work for it.
