elcome to the September Issue of SouthWest Horse Trader. This issue is our annual Youth Issue. I put out a request for hardworking youth to be highlighted in this issue and several were nominated. It was really neat getting to know each of them a little through their nominators, parents and through their highlights. What a strong group of young women being raised right. Thank you to the nominators for your recommendations. This next issue is our annual Amateur/Non-Pro Issue. I, again will be taking nominations! I’ve spent the majority of 2020 living at a small equine complex called Silver Horse Ranch in Bryan, Texas. Part of my weekend consisted of the Brazos County Faith Riders drill teams coming to practice on Sunday afternoons. At first it was a bunch of teenagers going every direction on horseback and not necessarily in the direction that they should be going. But they would show up each week and for a few hours they would ride together. After a couple of weeks you would hear the experienced youth helping the new members. I would go out to feed my horse and watch them starting to work together as a team. Then I watched actual patterns forming and everyone riding hard to get it perfect. The team lost a big chunk of practice time due to Covid but they made the most of every practice. As the show dates drew near, the patterns came together and was set to music. A few days before District, I stopped and watched and couldn’t believe my eyes. Those teenagers had grown into a team of young adults working together. NEXT ISSUE DEADLINES At both the District 9 4-H and the State 4-H Horse Shows they won the Precision and Theme Drill. At the Display Ad Art Work Deadline: SEPTEMBER 10* Gem State National Virtual Drill Competition the Mini Classifieds/Trader Ads: SEPTEMBER 15 Team Division winners were the White team with the Ma* Reserve your size & space by Sept 5 roon team in the reserve spot. In the novice division the Silver Team took reserve. In the Large Team Divison the Faith 713-562-8846 Riders rode to a third. Congratulations Team and to all the advertise@swhorsetrader.com other exhibitors who reached their goals despite Covid. w

Dressage Festival of Champions

U.S. Dressage Festival of Champions Names Winners By Kathleen Landwehr & Leslie Potter/US Equestrian Communications

The 2020 U.S. Dressage Festival of Champions, ran August 18-23, at HITS Chicago at the Lamplight Equestrian Center hosted 175 combinations to fourteen national championships. With restrictions on spectators on the grounds and mandates in effect for mask-wearing and social distancing, the scene at HITS Chicago at Lamplight Equestrian Center looked a bit different from prior years. However, trainers and riders were glad to have the opportunity to get their horses in the competition arena, and the quality of horses and riding throughout the week showed that competitors had been diligently doing their homework. This month will feature the Junior/Young Rider championships. Horseware Ireland/USEF Young Rider Dressage National Championship Thirteen combinations competed in their second and final test, the FEI Young Rider Individual Test, in hopes of claiming the Horseware Ireland/USEF Young Rider Dressage National Championship. Hannah Irons (Queenstown, MD) and Scola Bella performed an excellent test to win the class with a score of 73.088%. Irons was the 2016 USEF Pony Rider Dressage Reserve National Champion, and she has continued to develop her skills over the years and was able to clinch a national champion title with the help of the 11-year-old Oldenburg mare she leases from Dressage4Kids, Inc. The pair earned the top overall score of 71.471%. “I have had her three years now,” Irons said of Scola Bella. “It has taken a little bit of time to develop our partnership and figure her out in the ring. Today, I felt like for a big venue and not showing very much this year, I am super proud of her for going in there. She got a little nervous but really stayed rideable and trusted me so that is the best feeling in the world in my opinion. I was then able to add expression to that.” Katherine Mathews (San Marcos, CA) and Soliëre, Peridot Equestrian LLC’s 16-year-old Hanoverian stallion, earned the Reserve Champion title with an overall score of 70.810%. Kayla Kadlubek (Fairfax Station, VA) and Perfect Step, her own 19-year-old Oldenburg gelding, finished third in the overall standings with a score of 69.804%. SusanJStickle.com

Hannah Irons & Scola Bella

USEF Pony Rider Dressage National Championship Nine combinations performed the FEI Pony Rider Individual Test in hopes of winning the USEF Pony Rider Dressage National Championship. Abby Fodor (Bloomsbury, NJ) and Slip and Slide held on to their top spot on the leaderboard with an overall score of 68.227% to take home the win. Fodor and Marie Fodor’s 17-year-old Quarter Horse/Haflinger gelding had some bobbles in the FEI Pony Rider Individual Test, but their score of 66.216% enough to earn them top honors. 6

Youth Spotlight: Kasey Denny Kasey Denny (Hutto, TX) recently rode to a second-place finish in the USEF Dressage Seat Equitation Final 13 and Under at the US Dressage Festival of Champions aboard Amy Denny’s 8-year-old 17.2h Dutch Warmblood gelding, Hemingway KW. The 8th grader attends Grace Academy. “I’m extremely pleased with how we did. I’ve only been riding him for about seven months now. Despite all his bucks and spooks today he was awesome and very good and listening to me and I’m really happy with how he went. I’ll definitely remember my last year in this division.” What is your relationship with your horse? “My other one actually got hurt in January so he kind of popped up and then I was like, yeah, we’ll take him. He was rehabbing from jumping. I got him back strong and everything and then I decided to go to the show and I got qualified for FEI children’s, and then my other horse for equitation is retired so we used him instead, so it’s been a lot. But he’s been really good.” You won a championship with your older horse, right? “Yeah, so last year we were champion and then two years before we were reserve. I’m very lucky to be in top two every single year I come for equitation.” What did you think of the pattern today? “I liked it. I liked that it’s kind of one thing after another because he gets kind of distracted if he has a long break like when we have the whole long side and there’s nothing to do for stretches, so having the leg yield, canter, to trot leg yield again was really nice to keep him busy and thinking and on my aids.” Advice for others with horses? Go for your goals and never ever take anything for granted, be grateful for every experience you get. w

The pair won the 2017 USEF Children Dressage National Championship, adding another impressive result to their resume. “I think he was a little tired today compared to yesterday, but I was still happy with it,” said Fodor. “I think his lateral work and shoulder-ins and half-passes were a lot better. I think my serpentine was good.” Carmen Stephens (Saratoga, CA) and Woldhoeve’s Silco, her 20-year-old KWPN/Welsh gelding, earned the reserve national champion title with an overall score of 67.657%. Olivia Brown (Charlotte, NC) and Balthazar, her 18-year-old Belgian Riding Pony gelding, were third in the overall standings with a score of 66.558%. USEF Dressage Seat Equitation Final 13 and Under

SusanJStickle.com

Eleven upand-coming riders entered the ring for the USEF Dressage Seat Medal Final for Riders 13 & Under. Judges evaluated the class as a group for rail work, followed by an individual pattern that tested each rider’s skill in arena geometry, gait transitions, and lateral work. Grace Young (Cazenovia, NY) teamed up with Hailey Kates’s German Riding Pony, Maestro, for the winning ride in the class. The victory was extra meaningful for Young, who said that it would be her last year showing the 20-year-old pony at Festival. “I have had him for probably four years now, and he is such a blessing,” said Young. “He was an opportunity that I got to go try and I loved him so we brought him home. He’s been a challenge, but such a blessing and really incredible to work with.” Kasey Denny (Hutto, TX) rode to a second-place finish in the class with Amy Denny’s 8-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding, Hemingway KW. Maren Elise Fouché-Hanson rounded out the top three with her own grade pony, In My Feelings. Grace Young & Maestro

Seven combinations closed out Friday’s competition with the FEI Grand Prix Freestyle Test to decide the Adequan®/ USEF Young Adult ‘Brentina Cup’ National Championship. After winning the first test and having some bobbles in the second test, Sara Hassler (Chesapeake City, MD) and Harmony’s Boitano laid down an excellent freestyle to clinch the national championship title with an overall score of 69.269%. Hassler and Leslie Malone’s 14-yearold KWPN gelding were third in the 2019 USEF Intermediaire I Dressage National Championship, and they demonstrated that a year of hard work paid off. “I love this horse so much. I truly did not think that was going to happen because we are so green still,” Hassler said of winning the national championship. “I was just so grateful that the judges and everyone have rewarded what they can see as a future for him. That meant so, so much and I just feel like he always try two million percent in that arena and that is just the greatest feeling in the entire world. Just to get here we were pretty emotional and excited, but to win it, I don’t really have words yet.” Kerrigan Gluch (Wellington, FL) and Vaquero HGF, Hampton Green Farm’s 13-year-old Andalusian stallion, earned the reserve national champion title with an overall score of 68.457%. Rebecca Roman (Birmingham, AL) and Ultimo, Nancy Roman’s 19-year-old KWPN 12

USEF Children Dressage National Championship Twelve combinations took to Lexie the Grand Prix Arena for the FEI Kment & Children Individual Test of the USEF Manatee Children Dressage National Championship. Lexie Kment (Palmyra, NE) and Manatee were able to defend their 2019 USEF Children Dressage National Championship title after having a respectable test with a score of 71.982%. Kment was hopeful, though nervous, about trying to be a back-to-back national champion, but she and Jamie Kment’s 17-year-old Thoroughbred gelding keep their cool and managed to win the title with an overall score of 74.354%. “It feels really great,” Kment said of her title. “I was kind of worried coming into this year with all the nerves of ‘Am I going to be good enough? Am I going to be as good as last year?’ Me and my mom, [who is] my trainer, we really talked about just keeping calm and working on the ride and not focusing on anything else other than riding.” Maren Elise Fouché-Hanson and In My Feelings, her 25-year-old grade pony gelding, won the FEI Children Individual Test with a score of 75.236% to clinch the Reserve title with an overall score of 73.781%. Kat Fuqua (Atlanta, GA), an experienced hunter rider crossing over into the dressage arena, finished third overall with a score of 71.705% on Dreamgirl, her 12-year-old Dutch Warmblood mare. AQHA wraps up the 2020 Built Ford Tough AQHYA World Championship Show, which was held in accordance with local, state and federal coronavirus mandates. That’s a wrap on the 2020 Built Ford Tough AQHYA World Championship Show, which was hosted in accordance with local, state and federal coronavirus mandates. The Ford Youth World was held July 29 - August 8 at the OKC Fairgrounds in Oklahoma City. “We are grateful for the opportunity to give competitors the chance to experience the Ford Youth World in as safe of an environment as possible, as they compete for top honors in Level 3, Adequan® Level 2 and Nutrena Level 1 classes,” said Justin Billings, AQHA chief show officer. “Although this show season has been different than others due to the coronavirus pandemic, we look forward to hosting an event where AQHYA members can do what they love, show their American Quarter Horses, while still meeting health protocols put in place by local authorities.” AQHYA exhibitors from the United States and Canada competed for 42 world championship, 33 Adequan® Level 2 championships and 39 Nutrena Level 1 championships. The Nutrena Level 1 youth classes were held in conjunction with the Ford Youth World for the first time in the show’s history, due to the cancellation of the Nutrena Level 1 Championships earlier this spring. If you were unable to join us in Oklahoma City, or missed the free live webcast, brought to you by Ford, be sure to check out results at www.aqha.com/ youthworld. You can also watch The American Quarter Horse Journal’s “Journal Winning Run” interviews, starring the top Level 3 youth riders in the world. AQHYA youth teams competing at the Ford Youth World, AQHA Wrangler Aspire Award winner, 2019 year-end high-point winners and 2020-21 AQHYA Executive Committee and regional directors were recognized in the video that aired on Sunday, August 2. View the video on youtube. The 2019-2020 AQHYA officers and directors were presented with custom Awards Recognition Concepts belt buckles and scholarships during the show since the youth were not able to be recognized in person at the virtual Bank of America Youth Excellence Seminar. AQHA Professional Horsemen volunteered their time to give free Ride the Pattern clinics, presented by Nutrena. These clinics gave exhibitors the perfect opportunity to learn how AQHA Professional Horsemen would approach a class or pattern. Thanks in part to Nutrena’s generosity to match the amount donated at the clinics dollar-for-dollar, the Crisis Fund raised more than $8,796. The AQHA Professional Horsemen also hosted an online auction to raise money for the Guy Stoops AQHA Professional Horsemen’s Scholarship Fund. The generosity of all who bid raised $8,570 for the Scholarship Fund. w

Favorite Events: My favorite events to show in are reining, western riding, horsemanship, and trail. Future plans with horses? I would love to be a part of a collegiate equestrian team. I plan to work with my trainer and show my horse GeeWhiz Im Peppy in reining, ranch riding and trail. Youth Spotlight: Treylyn Hancock

"Last year her horse Gunny died on her birthday. During this time I was dealing with Breast Cancer and treatments. Treylyn kept pushing even though she didn’t have a horse. She rode her old gelding. Lots of tears and heartache which bloomed into tenacity and even harder work ethic. She kept saying ‘We got this. It’s going to work out’." Michelle Hancock 16

Fifteen-year-old Treylyn Hancock of Wharton, Texas, is a sophomore at Needville High School. She is a member of the APHA, AQHA, SHOT, NRCHA, SRCHA, STRCHA, NSBA and 4-H completing in Ranch Horse Classes including Cattle events. As if that isn’t a lot to take on, she is also the 2020-2021 American Junior Paint Horse Association Vice President.

Why horses? I’m not sure how to answer this because horses have been part of my life since I could walk. I started riding on my uncle’s horse, Richman when I was only 2 years old and my PaPa would lead me around the pasture. I have no idea what my life would be like without horses. Moment(s) you will always remember: A moment I will always remember is when I won the 2020 Texas State 4-H Horse Show Senior Stock Horse Pleasure. It is a great moment for me because my PaPa and I taught my horse Slick how to successfully handle the transition maneuvers. Slick came to live with us in January and he was barely 4 years old at the time. This event, along with Ranch Trail, was something completely new to him. It was a great win because I knew in my heart that I had worked hard to teach him this event and we had to work as a true team to come out on top against 51 competitors.

2020 Covid: Competing? What changes have you made? The impact COVID had was the cancellation of many shows from March to June. It was disappointing but I decided this gave me time since I also was home from school to work with my horses. I was able to work my yearling in the morning and Slick in the afternoons. Shows started back up in mid-June but now the issue is everyone is trying to have a show and calendars are getting packed with a horse show every weekend. You have to pick and choose which ones to go to because you also don’t want to use your horse up and exhaust them. Favorite horse(s)? My favorite horses currently are the two I show, Slick and Roxy. Slick (Slyd My Way) is 4 years old and Roxy (GVG Pepto Chic) is a yearling. They are both sired by ZeZe’s Pepto Cat. My previous horse, Gunny, was also sired by ZeZe’s Pepto Cat. However, he died last year right before my birthday. Roxy was a gift to me by Mr and Mrs JD Young. She is marked just like Gunny. It was a very generous gift that I will always be thankful for. Roxy and Slick are really funny together. Brother and Sister are very much alike in both their attitude and movement. I am so blessed to have them. Favorite event(s)? Ranch Pleasure is one of my top events because you must show you horse’s movement through transitions. Also, Boxing is my other top favorite. Slick loves to work a cow and he is really good at the Rein work portion. We have been working very hard to come together as a team

in the cow work classes. Role model? My role models are everyone who has worked so hard to help me get to where I am today. This would especially be my parents and grandparents. They have sacrificed money, worked extra jobs, not taken vacations, and spent lots of time to help ensure my success. They have worked so hard to make sure I am prepared, and my horses are prepared. Many hours are spent practicing Ranch Trail courses, transitions, circles, spins and more. My PaPa and my mom work with Slick and I at home. I have many friends that have also helped me and serve as my role models. One of them is Jordan Cheek. She is a great rider and has inspired me to chase after my dreams and to never give up. As a trainer, I admire Mr. Tom Neel greatly. He has made me a better horseman in the cattle events and I’m learning to use my legs more. Slick grew up on Mr. Tom’s ranch, so he knows him well. Superstitions? I don’t really have any superstitions. However, when I ride my shirts and saddle pad have to match in color. Future plans with horses? I plan to continue showing and would like to show more at SRCHA and AQHA shows in the coming years, in addition to my continued participation in APHA, SHOT and 4-H. I would like to have the opportunity to show at the Collegiate level but to make that happen I Continued on page 25 September 2020 SouthWest Horse Trader

Bluebonnet Horse Expo Going Virtual Bluebonnet Equine Humane Society recently announced that they’re taking their annual Bluebonnet Horse Expo virtual for 2020. The event will be held October 10th-18th online. “This will be our 14th Bluebonnet Horse Expo, and while we look forward to seeing everyone each year, we also want to keep the public safe. We didn’t want to cancel the Expo because of the pandemic, so we decided to go virtual instead”, says Bluebonnet’s Executive Director Dr. Jennifer Williams. The event, which is an educational event, fundraiser for Bluebonnet Equine Humane Society, and adoption event for the rescue is normally held in the Austin, Texas area. This year, however, the event will be online so horse lovers from anywhere in the world can participate! Those who purchase a ticket will get access to video presentations by horse trainers and other equine professionals as well as live online Q&A sessions with some of the presenters. Topics will cover a widerange of themes including training, behavior, and equine health. There will also be an online auction, an online/virtual horse show, and video introductions to the horses living at the rescue’s many foster homes. The rescue will also conduct a fundraiser during the Expo to help raise funds to care for formerly abused, abandoned, and neglected horses. Horses will be available for adoption to approved adopters throughout Texas for half price during the entire month of October. The Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge, a competition in which professional trainers and amateur horsemen and women work with a rescue horse for four months, will still take place in person but attendance will be limited to pre-approved adopters. The rescue plans to livestream the Challenge competition on Facebook on October 17th. Bluebonnet Equine Humane Society is a non-profit organization that helps rescue horses, ponies, mules, and donkeys from negligent and abusive owners. The COVID-19 pandemic caused the rescue to cancel one fundraiser and donations are down for the rescue this year, so the rescue hopes the Expo and donation drive will raise some of the funds necessary to help horses throughout the next year. Tickets are available at secure.givelively.org/event/bluebonnet-equine-humane-society/bluebonnet-horse-expo. There are still sponsorship opportunities available, and the organization needs donations of horse equipment and farm/ranch/western themed art-work, jewelry, and home décor for the live auction. All donations are tax deductible. For more information, visit us www.bluebonnethorseexpo.com or (888) 542 5163. w September 2020 SouthWest Horse Trader

Competitive Trail News In The SouthWest NATRC SAFETY PROTOCOLS FALL COMPETITIONS Equine event managers are establishing new procedures and protocols across all disciplines in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic. The North American Trail Ride Conference (NATRC) has sanctioned fall events in Region 4 (Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Arkansas) and ride managers have developed safety plans for their individual facilities and locations. At the 6th and final Wayfarer at Parrie Haynes Westside on September 12-13 in Killeen, Texas, there are many changes this year. First and foremost, competitors and volunteers will be asked to sign a COVID-19 release in addition to the traditional NATRC releases. All participants will be asked about recent exposure and symptoms of COVID-19, but temperatures will not be taken. Social distancing is required. Other precautions include: 1. No community meals. No Fajita Friday. No potluck on Saturday. Dinner will be provided for the judges and their secretaries only. The grill is available for anyone to use. Bottled water will be on hand and water will be available at Pulse & Respiration checkpoints. 2. No ride briefings. Competitors will receive their schedule, maps, and instructions in writing in their registration packets, and will receive one-on-one time with the ride manager and the judges at vet in. The ride manager is available by text and phone at any time to answer questions. Hand sanitizer will be at vet-in. 3. Shared bunk space. Some participants in the cabins share bathrooms, and the pool bathhouse is a shared space. It will NOT be sanitized throughout the weekend, although sanitizer and wipes are available on the counter. 4. Only Type A (2-day) rides are offered, plus the Leisure Division on Sunday only to better control congestion at vet checks. 6. The weather can be hot if a front does not come through and Central Texas is in severe drought conditions. Please wear a hat and sunscreen, and drink plenty of water. “If you are not comfortable attending the ride this year, please do not,” said Elaine Swiss, Wayfarer Ride Manager. “We live in interesting times and we are learning as we go, management and competitors alike. I am grateful to all of you who will be joining me once again for our final Wayfarer at Parrie Haynes.” The next event on the NATRC calendar is September 26-27 at Lazy F in Smiley, Texas. This event will be following similar procedures and protocols. Registration can be done on-line at www.natrc.org and more information is available from Elaine Swiss, 830-825-3032. w

FINAL PARRIE HAYNES TRAIL VERSATILITY CHAMPIONSHIP The final Parrie Haynes Trail Versatility championship will be held in September, beginning with the NATRC Wayfarer on September 12-13, and followed by the Texas Trail Challenge Pony Pilots on September 19. Both events are held on the west side of the ranch, managed by the Boys & Girls Club of Killeen. The scores from the two different type of competitive trail events are weighted and totaled with the highest score winning the trophy. Cynthia Leatherwood and Big Cat won the championship in 2018 and 2019. For more information, contact Elaine Swiss, 830-825-3032. w 24

Youth Spotlight - Cont from page 17 must keep growing my competitive level. While in College I believe I might also enjoy working with a trainer to grow my knowledge and experience. Career path you are considering? My goal is to attend college at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX. I want to become an Equine Veterinarian specializing in Lameness. I believe there is a need, especially in South Texas, for veterinarians that specialize in horses. There are so many large animal clinics in our county, but their specialty is cattle. If you have a mixed large animal practice, there is very much a need for an Equine expert. I am also interested in becoming a carded judge with several associations. I enjoy being a member of my Needville FFA and Texas Paint Horse Club Horse Judging Teams. Advice for others with horses? My advice to others with horses is to work hard and have fun. You have got to put many hours in the saddle to be successful, but you have got to enjoy what you are doing. w

a cast with a majority of little to no horse experience and molding them to the cast and crew you can’t wait to watch on Sunday nights. The show filmed over seventy percent of the first three seasons in Utah but going forward season four will only film in Montana per Taylor Sheridan. If you are looking for Yellowstone Ranch while traveling in Montana, the show is set at Chief Joseph Ranch which you can visit while not in production. The pot was recently stirred with viewers mixing the cast politics into the real world. Sometimes the lines get crossed between fiction and reality when engulfed in a great TV show. Being an election year, many have mentioned Kevin Costner’s support of the Democratic party along with Ryan Bingham who played at the Robert (Beto) O’Rourke rally. Many other cast members who shared their political stance on social media got fan’s thinking. Get over it, we live in a different time where most anyone has access to social media and the thoughts of those on TV Movies, and beyond are at our fingertips. Be above it, we can all agree to disagree at times no need for the hatred. We watch television shows to be entertained not for the opinions of the actors on the show. Many have questioned why I don’t discuss politics on my talk show and to me it’s not worth the time. What I think should not matter to you, you should be able to think for yourself, do your own research and form your own opinions on the topics of the day. There is a lot of misinformation out there so don’t get caught up in the hype be smart about it. You now have plenty of time to catch up on three seasons of Yellowstone before season four kicks off next summer. Watch it, have fun, and like Forrie J. Smith (Lloyd) told me during our interview “Let’s be proud that our culture and our heritage is the number one drama on television breaking records lets be proud of that” and that right there folks sums it up. w

Losses Carrol Clavelle, 85, Carencro, LA, passed away after a lengthy illness with his wife Phyllis by his side July 30. He was a longtime cutter with both ACHA and NCHA memberships, and many will remember that Gunnin For Jerry was his pride and joy. Playboy McCrae died in August, owned since 1999 when NCHA Non-Pro Hall of Fame rider April Hames Widman, Weatherford, purchased him. She showed him to top the 2000 NCHA $10K Non-Pro Novice World Championship standings. Before that, he was 1996 NCHA Futurity Open champion, when Paul Hansma rode him to mark 223 for then-owner Kay Floyd. Finis Welch, 82, passed away unexpectedly August 24. As owner and operator of Center Ranch, Centerville, he raised cattle and horses for over 35 years. His cutting horse operation produced many top-quality horses, including the NCHA 2012 Open Futurity Champion Tuff-Hearted Cat that was sired by Woody-Be-Tuff who stands stud on Center Ranch. w

2020 Covid Competing? What changes have you made? Due to the pandemic my show season started late. I had plenty of time to bond with my two new horses and build a foundation of trust that we need to be successful in the show pen. We stayed home from school which gave me more time for riding. My first horse show of the year after Covid was a virtual competition where I submitted recordings of patterns to the CAQHA. Favorite horse? My family has had my favorite horse longer than they have had me. The reason she came to be a part of the family is because my mother had a traumatic accident where a horse reared up and fell on top of her. So, to gain back her confidence when riding she searched for a trainer with an amazing lesson horse. The result of this was a four-year-old quarter horse mare named Fancy Gay Girl. My mother took lessons on her for two years until the mares’ owners decided to sell her to us. Then she was gifted to my sister and became her show horse throughout high school and college. Fancy then wasn’t shown for four years and during this break had a filly. After the time away from the show pen I began to learn how to ride in 2015. I had my first show with her in 2016 and she was my show horse for five years until she retired at the age of twenty-three this summer. The next chapter of her life will be teaching the next generation the basics. She is now loved by my three nieces. w
