Higher Education
Our University Partners:
Welcome
Swindon College is the largest provider of Higher Education in Swindon, with over 500 students studying on 25 courses. Higher Education student numbers at Swindon College have increased by 8.5% this year and more students are seeing the benefits of studying at a local college that fits in with their work and family commitments. As well as lower fees, you could benefit from smaller class sizes with dedicated tutors, allowing more individual support. We have knowledgeable library staff who can help with researching and referencing and a dedicated Higher Education Student Centre, with study spaces and a social area. All of our programmes are designed with employment in mind and link directly back to the workplace. On successful completion of your course, you’ll have the opportunity to don a gown and mortar board for the official Graduation Ceremony.
Why choose Higher Education at Swindon College… SMALLER
It will cost thousands of pounds less than moving away to study at a larger institution.
HE
CENTRE
HE Students have the use of a plasma TV in the chill-out area with comfy sofas and chairs to relax in, a seating area for food and drinks an internet café-style bar, plus an adjoining computer suite.
CLASS SIZES! Our class sizes are smaller, this means you get more of your lecturer’s time and greater support.
Top Universities!
Your degree will be awarded by a top university or awarding body, even though you’re studying in Swindon.
BE
SOCIABLE!
You won’t be moving away from your friends and family.

Studying university level at a college is a lot less intimidating than being at a larger university, we’re treated as individuals and I know I can contact my lecturers by email whenever I need to.
I make use of the facilities at the college, particularly the Library, which has plenty of resources for us to use and the HE Centre, which is a nice place for quiet study or to relax.

My tutors are always available if I need to talk to them and I come in to college once a week to study independently. The course has been better than I expected and I’ve definitely got what I wanted to achieve out of it.
I couldn’t fault the tutors, they treat us as colleagues and the lesson structures keep you engaged the whole time. I know that if I ever need support, I can easily get a one-to-one appointment straightaway.
