Switzerland has always been a dream destination and it is out of this dream that SWISStours was born. It was founded as the first ever leisure division of an airline, the erstwhile Swissair, and is today a 100% owned subsidiary of Swiss International Air Lines. I am proud to say that I have been a founding member of this company Toovey Abraham CEO

and its vision since its inception in 1997.

Over the years we have grown to hold a substantial market share and are the highest achievers for many of our products and partners. This success could only have been achieved with the loyal support and hard work of each member of the SWISStours team. Our dedicated team pride themselves on their ability to meet our clients’ requests with enthusiasm, passion and perfect solutions for their requirements. Our strength lies in our perseverance of dynamism, innovation and out-of-box thinking. We have evolved with the digital age and via our website, can today offer an entire holiday at the click of a button. Our goal is to be a trusted destination for our clients to come to for all their European travel requirements. I heartily thank our partners, team and loyal patrons who have supported us throughout. We look forward to continuing this journey with the same enthusiasm and high standards of the last 25 years.

“My friends and I stayed at Allmend apartments for 4 nights in 2017. These twin towers are just 12 mins away by bus from Lucerne’s main station with the bus stop right opposite them, thus making sightseeing and day trips really convenient. The small balcony allowed us to enjoy our meals with a view of the mountains. A big plus point is the “Migros”

supermarket within the complex which helped with ready-to-cook meals, beverages and groceries.

“A stay in the Niederdorf area of Zurich was just perfect for our group of friends. We stayed in a studio apartment that had a view of the river. “The advantages of the Swiss Travel Pass can only be truly fathomed once you travel with it. I always prefer to stay in small off-the-beaten-track places and the pass helps you to reach these remote places be it by train or bus. I have covered many wonderful mountain excursions at almost 50% discounts, visited many museums including the famous Swiss Transport Museum and travelled on some famous panoramic routes all thanks to the handy Swiss Travel Pass. In my opinion, the

“ The landscape that the Bernina Express crosses is unparalleled. The large panoramic windows allow you a view of the marvellous scenery which changes from rugged to snow covered terrain and then to a completely Mediterranean one with palm trees. Travelling over the 65 meter high Landwasser Viaduct, the Montebello curve and Morteratsch glacier is mind blowing. The turquoise lakes of Lej Pitschen, Lej Nair and the Lago Bianco are a feast for the eyes. If one does not have the time to do the full journey from Chur to Tirano and onward to Lugano, a shorter journey is also

highly recommended.

“ To see exactly how Switzerland’s two most famous products are made was a treat for me and my family. The full day excursion via a train and bus combination that starts and returns to Montreux was definitely worth doing. The cheese factory demonstration was really nice but the smell could be a bit overwhelming for some. The factory also has a lovely souvenir shop and restaurant offering delicious local delicacies. The chocolate factory is a great place to learn, taste and buy chocolate as well. This excursion is as exciting for adults as it is for kids. Make sure to keep a day aside for it.

Europe's first mountain railway - 150 years old

“ Soft powder snow reflecting the bright sunlight and clear blue skies. This is what greeted us on arrival at Rigi on a lovely winter's day. The views of the neighbouring Lucerne region with its lakes and mountains will stay with me for a long time. Our journey had taken us in the lovely Arth-Rigi Railway from Arth Goldau. We took a walk and some amazing photos from the terraces at the top. Unfortunately, we did not have the time to visit the spas at Rigi Kaltbad but that remains on my bucket list for the next time. In my opinion, Rigi is truly the Free with Swiss Travel Pass

“ If you are travelling with children this attraction is a must-do. We were not too sure what to expect from a transport museum but once you enter it, you are hooked. The number of interactive activities is mind boggling. Children love the show in the planetarium and of course the Swiss Chocolate adventure (specially since they get to taste the chocolate in the end). “ This park is a little treasure of Switzerland tucked away in the most idyllic lakeside setting. Every model of the buildings, castles and cathedrals are perfect replicas made with tremendous attention to detail. The various transport networks are particularly interesting because they are in motion. There are cable cars going up and down mountains, aircrafts taxiing for the runway at a model of Zurich airport and trains running on tracks Rate: CHF 20 Visit website for

and stopping at platforms. There is also a little toy train in which kids can move around the park. However, this is far from just a kiddy attraction. It's a great way to spend a few hours with the family.

KEY HIGHLIGHTS All year destination

Authentic Switzerland with unspoiled nature

Population: A friendly 7000 people and 7000 cows.

Summer fun: Biking, hiking, horse carriage rides

Winter: Skiing, tobogganing, snowshoe hiking

Family-owned luxury hotels and a welcoming atmosphere.

Staff Experience Hemalatha V

“ Arguably the poshest destination in Switzerland, Gstaad has as much to offer in summer as in winter. Starting off with a leisurely horse ride which took us through the car-free town and its main street, we reached our lovely chalet-style hotel. All around us were meadows full of cows and calves that had just returned from the mountains. The sound of the cowbells and bellows was unusually musical. We visited the pristine Lake Lauenen, a natural heritage spot, and also visited Glacier 3000 for a day.

For me, Gstaad is a memory that will never fade.
