A central pedestian spine following the river’s edge links up the existing walking path and leads people through the site. On the land side, permeable sandstone pathways guide the public through thickly vegetated parkland to a series of pavilions including an amenities block and kiosk, and ‘island-like’ decks for relaxing beneath the trees. The concrete pool platform morphs and activates the river’s edge into a playful activity zone that encourages exploration and engagement with the river in a variety of different ways.
