An odd assortment of demons gathered by invitation at Lucas Blanc’s mansion. Across the luxurious room, they studied each other with caution and curiosity. Friend or foe, everyone knew they had something to gain and something to lose.
Josh had almost turned down the invitation. But he had thought it over again. There were no leads on his sister’s whereabouts. If anyone could help him find Ashley, it would be someone with power and connections, like Lucas Blanc.
He surveyed the room and wondered what all this was about. It didn’t seem like anyone knew each other, none of them were chatting. But every single one of them was here for a reason, just like him.
Lucas entered the room, noting that none had declined his invitation. Everyone was here. Good! He felt an adrenaline rush. Excitement tickled at him. This was going to be fun.
“Good afternoon, everyone. I am Lucas Blanc and welcome to my home. Let’s get right to the point, shall we? You are all here today to participate in a game and if you play well, you will be highly rewarded. “
A game? This is silly.
