AB Sample Unit Unit 3 Lesson 1 Design: The page is divided into two activities. The first activity is working on reading and writing skills. The second activity is a survey. Rubrics: Lesson 1 1. Circle and write the vocabulary. There is a basket of fruit and vegetables from the CB - carrots, onions, broccoli, tomatoes, beans, potatoes, peas, pineapple, plums and bananas. The beans are greeen beans and the peas may need to be in a packet in front of the basket. The handle of the basket is like one of the ‘wordsnake’ exercise where all the words run into the next one and the children have to circle the words to show where they start nd finish. Around the basket are dotted lines for the children to write the words on once they have found them in the basket handle. Each dotted line has an arrown linking it to the picture. To the side of the basket is a follow-up to the pronunciation exercise from the CB which works on /p/ and /b/. there is a box to the side of the basket with the space for two lists one above the other. The top section of the box has /b/ plus three dotted lines to write on. The bottomw section has /p/ with four dotted lines to write on. Rubrics: 2. Write. Ask and find. This is a ‘Find someone who’ activity similar to one on page 23 of the Top Class AB. It will look like the survey is written on paper in a ring file or spiral bound exercise book. Text: Find some in your class who… likes broccoli likes ………….. likes ………….. likes …………… likes …………... likes ……………
