36-year-old native of San Antonio, Texas, dreamed -since about 16 years old- of life as a journalist; majored in it at Texas Christian University, then first reporting job at a weekly newspaper. I later "sold out" to the public affairs realm (had a front-row seat to SBC's merger with AT&T, where I clung to our message points of "more competition and increased innovation." I then worked in public relations for a local Catholic University and began learning the techie tools of the 21st-century journalism trade that felt foreign to me. Through trial and lots of error, I learned enough to shoot video, and edit my footage and interviews into consumable packages for the web. I even started a project for fun: a blog/website/YouTube brand that promoted Tejano and Latino music. Been quiet since about 2011 but interested in the developing local SA news scene that fills the gaping holes of our "major dailly" yet reports without the sometimes unbearable "alternative slant!"
