Thank you for joining us!
We recently wrapped up our 100th anniversary season and what a season it has been! Each of our programs this year highlighted this momentous occasion with nods to our past while also looking ahead to our future .
We began the season with Ode to New Hampshire that featured composers with New Hampshire roots including Oliver Caplan, John Adams, Amy Beach, and Edward MacDowell This was followed by our Winds of Time program that featured our legacy musicians in Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No . 2 as well as our new principals in French horn, bassoon, and clarinet . We also filled open positions for assistant concertmaster, principal second violin and bass trombone . We are thrilled to welcome these talented musicians!
Holiday Pops was back and bigger than ever! Both our Nashua and Concord audiences surpassed our 2019 attendance!
In March, we collaborated with the Nashua Choral Society and Nashoba Valley Chorale to perform Mozart’s Requiem at the Immaculate Conception Church in Nashua . It was a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with the Nashua Choral Society who has been deeply connected to Symphony NH for many years
At the beginning of April, we featured a chamber version of Mahler’s Symphony No . 1 along with Astor Piazzolla’s Suite from Maria de Buenos Aires . And the end of the month was our 100th anniversary concert at the new Nashua Center for the Arts with guest artist Amit Peled . For this sold-out concert, two of the . . .

works performed were on the very first concert on April 29, 1923: Schubert’s Unfinished Symphony and Strauss’ Blue Danube Waltz . We closed the season with a family concert with guest narrator Andrew Pinard performing Caroline Shaw’s The Mountain That Loved a Bird and Sergei Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf .
Along the way, we also re-established our education program Link Up and performed a concert for all 3rd grade students in Nashua . And we began a new community engagement program, SNH Plays Back, providing musician ensembles to other area non-profit organizations.
For the 23/24 season (year 101), we have even more collaborations, newly commissioned works as well as favorites, and more guest artists to share with our audiences .
But we couldn’t do any of this without you! We are incredibly grateful for your continued support and look forward to the next 100 years of Symphony NH!
Sincerely,
Deanna R Hoying Executive Director
