Welcome!
DEAR FRIENDS,
We’re delighted that you’ve joined us here at the historic Marriott Syracuse Downtown for Stage’s “Golden Gala” – an evening that marks just the beginning of a year of celebration!
We are honored that each of you has chosen to be part of this remarkable milestone in Stage’s history. All of us - long-time supporters, new friends, board members, community leaders, and staff members – are a part of the fabric of what makes Syracuse Stage a vital and thriving part of the cultural landscape of Central New York.
While the impacts of the COVID era continue to challenge arts organizations nationwide in fulfilling their missions and embodying their values, this season has been one of many successes. Productions of the groundbreaking world premiere musical How to Dance in Ohio; the holiday spectacle The Little Mermaid; Stage’s first-ever bilingual production, Espejos: Clean; and - for a few more days - the moving Our Town, comprised of performers from across our community, have provided entertainment,
family fun, unique perspectives, and conversation starters. Stage’s community engagement programs and educational tours have connected young people and local residents, and our Backstory programs have reached audiences across the nation this season. The world premiere of Kyle Bass’s powerful drama Tender Rain and the just-plain-fun Clue will round out this season and lead us into all that’s in store for the just announced 2023-2024 - another great season of stories that engage, entertain, and inspire us to see life beyond our own experiences awaits!
As we look back on our 50-year journey, we are filled with pride and gratitude for the countless artists, actors, technicians, administrators, and students who have contributed to our success. Syracuse Stage has become a cultural gem in Central New York, thanks to the unwavering dedication of our team and supporters like you.
But tonight, we are not just looking back. We are also looking forward to an exciting future filled with new productions, collaborations, and partner-
ships that will propel Stage forward, ensuring the organization’s sustainability and extending ever wider the invitation for every community member to be part of Syracuse Stage. As we embark on this exciting journey, we invite you to join us all year long in celebration of both our legacy and of all that lies ahead. We have so much to look forward to!
Once again, we thank you for your generous support, and we look forward to sharing this special evening
with you – it’s your support that ensures Stage can continue to do its work – in, for, and by Central New York, but seen by the world.
Let’s raise a glass to 50 years of remarkable theatre, and many more to come!
THANK YOU. We’ll see you at Stage.
With our deep appreciation –
Bob, Jill, and the Stage staff

ABOUT SYRACUSE STAGE
Originally constructed as the Regent Movie House in 1914, the physical space of Syracuse Stage has seen many films, musicians, actors, and artists pass through its doors over the course of the past century. The Syracuse Stage that exists today is a non-for-profit professional theatre company founded in 1974, and a longstanding League of Resident Theatres (LORT) member. Since its inception, Stage has produced over 300 shows, both plays and musicals, within its walls. Now, Stage produces six to seven shows per season, while also offering educational programs to students, various pre- and post-show events, and fundraising events each year. Stage is Central New York’s only LORT theatre and one of the largest performing arts organizations in the area. Stage has a strong commitment to giving the community access to a range of high-quality productions; it is equally committed to bringing in actors, designers, and directors who are among the leading theatre professionals, both locally and across the nation.
Thank you to everyone at Syracuse Stage that works tirelessly to execute and fulfill its mission of entertaining and inspiring us beyond our own experience.
Bond is a proud supporter of Syracuse Stage and its mission to tell stories that engage, entertain and inspire us to see life beyond our own experience.
Cheers to 50 Years!
Bousquet Holstein is proud to support Syracuse Stage and their vision of providing regional theater through active inclusion, innovative outreach and bold productions, thereby shaping the cultural and social vitality of Central New York
