FRESH PRODUCE

POTATOES

Non-Prepared (chipping, mini, roosters)

Average of 22% increase across 7 products.

Prepared – (chips, sliced, diced, whole & speciality)

Average of 7% increase across 23 products.

Raw material availability is extremely tight for all of the above. The delays in planting due to wet weather has put even further pressure on the availability of stocks. There is major concern over shortages in June with prices on the rise to secure what stock is available.

HERBS & UNWASHED LETTUCES

Average -7% reductions as we head into the Summer Season.

APPLES

Average of 3% increases as fully moved over to southern hemisphere apples.

IRISH BABY VEG

Average 9% increases as we have moved into New Season.

EXOTICS

Average of 20% increases due moving seasons and floodings in Kenya.

PARSNIPS

Average 66% increase due to Irish Season finished and moving to Spanish imports.

TURNIPS (PREPARED & NON-PREPARED)

Average of 34% increases due to Irish Season finishing and moving to Scottish imports.

ONIONS

Average 7% reduction due to the market softening and better availability.

BRAMBLEY APPLES

Average 14% increase due to Irish not available from our Vendor’s grower so we need to move to import.

LETTUCE ICEBERG

9% increases due to limited availability in Spain and Irish Season is 2-3 weeks behind for harvesting.

BROCCOLI

8% increases due to limited availability in Spain.

MISCELLANEOUS

Average 18% increases, padron peppers and papaya have become limited, so prices have soared, some variety of beetroot is coming from Europe now as Irish has finished. Large carrots are becoming limited in Spain, so prices are rising.
