Vehicle Design In the four years duration of studying design in university, the vehicle design is one of my favorite courses. In this section, there are five different types of vehicle-related design projects in my college career, including aircraft, automobile, bicycle, bus, and metro.
CRH-Air Sightseeing Zeppelin CRH-Air Sightseeing Zeppelin is an aircraft concept design with its name originating from China’s high-speed highway and its original intention from the combination of aircraft and hotel for intercontinental and interplanetary travels in the future world, like the luxurious liner nowadays, but in the air.

Sketch of the final plan This plan is chosen from lots of plans in our three members's team. With a stream-line fuselage containing elements of science fictions, gardens or landscapes designs.

Decoration inside the Ship is with main style of simplicity, green plants in the front hall tempering the coldness of metal used in modern vehicle.
Wings unfolded
Different from the current planes, the Ship is structured in six wings, adjusting its flying according to various air conditions. Its vertical launching and slow landing is realized by the ejecting and landing gear.

2in1 Bicycle This design is to increase the entertainment of bicycle. It could be divided into two parts, with rear half could be used as monocycle and the former half could be assembled into a scooter.

Redesign of the New Beetles This is an assignment of vehicle design course. It required to modify and redesign the current automobile and finally comes to an advertisement poster. I used line draft to replace the effect print and divided it into three parts. It shows the mysterious feeling of the brand-new car design.

Nonstop Metro Pause at every stop wastes a lot of time by lowering the metro’s average speed and shipping ability. A nonstop metro design (no stops between starting and terminal point) can solve this with high efficiency. (P.S. it’s not a sci-fi of portal.)
Interior structure: This design is a double-layer train system: the upper layer is for the mother train running at constant speed with no stops between the starting and terminal point; the lower layer is for a shuttle train with a smaller capacity to transfer the passengers from stations to the mother train.

The shuttle train then catches up with the mother train after speeding up and keeps relative rest at the same speed with it.

The rest allows connection between the two trains and passengers get transferred.

Meanwhile, the original shuttle train at Station 2 has already left and gone for connection and transfer with the mother train same as above.

When transfer is completed, the two trains separate and the shuttle train stops at Station 2.
Electric Bus Design Electric bus gets more and more atte ntion for the purpose of environment protection but its disadvantage prevents it from a wide use that quick power consumption and frequent charges are inconvenient and time-wasted.
This design is aimed at solving this problem by being equipped with spare batteries for easy replacement and the charging site is set at the bus station. Every battery has an indicator light showing remaining power.

The charging station design This station is not design for bus charging but for buses exchanging their dead or dying battery. And the station will feed the batteries in the spare time. It's much more time-saving than the way car/bus charging beside the station.

Product Design In this section, you will see 6 of my product design projects, including different type of household appliance, furniture, facilities in metro station, etc. These projects are demonstrated through effect pictures, sketch, CAD models, or videos.
Cobblestone Lamps Prize for Excellence, Lighting Innovation Design Competition held by Student Union, School of Mechanic Engineering This series includes floor lamp and garden lamp. The material is porcelain and in a cobblestone shape. It's the inside light does not send out directly but reflect on the curved face to avoid stimulating people’s eyes.

The cobblestone-like convex surface makes lights scattering more softly and create a cozy atmosphere.

Sponge Oven Finalists Award in the 7th Vatti Industrial Design Competition The sponge oven’s surface is made of memory metal and could adjust the shape to cooking utensils above just like sponge. It’s aimed at fit for different shape and bottom of cooking utensils. Besides, the transparent body of the sponge oven could be seen with its power directly so that users would find it more convenient.

The transparent body helps to observe and control the heat power during cooking and the concave surface has functions for heat-trapping and heat-preservation.

“HELP!” Series Tissue Boxes The idea of this tissue boxes is to call for people’s action in low carbon lifestyle by saving paper. This two series of designs present: one is the Animals and the other is the Cities. When users consume the tissue, the box’s base plate will rise and releasing the blue color inside the box. That seems to submerge the polar bear and the city. Warning people wasting tissue is one of the reasons causing the global warming. Moreover, both of the series could be extended with the new design pattern.
Using effects: the more you consume the tissue, the faster the ‘sea level’ rises.

The pattern is designed by the method of inductive geometry, with stylized urban construction and landscape, appearing both abstract and realistic.
Animals Series Both of the two series could be extended with the new design pattern.

Steam Humidifier This humidifier originates from traditional Chinese censer. When in use, the steam would send out like cense and this design is a very Chinese style decoration.

SRP Work : “Fu” Doorbell SRP (Student Research Project) is a project for the students to practice or study independently in their specialties in our college. And I participated in the 2012 project which is “Developing and Design of Innovative Product based on Native Culture”. This work one of the project results: “Fu” stands for happiness and good fortune in China and this character is usually turn upside and put on the door in Chinese new year. Guests need to turn the “Fu” upside down to ring the bell, and it indicates good fortune for the hosts and guests.

Loudspeaker Box This loudspeaker box is designed for the notebook computer on the desk. The prototype’s shell is made by ABS plate in a vacuum forming machine.

Graphic Design Graphic design is a compulsory module in my major. Thus I have some graphic design works including: print ads, package design and VI design. These woks were accomplished through sketch or print software like Photoshop and CorelDraw.
Package Design of the Wardrobe Plan A is an ordinary package arrangement.Plan B only shows the half of the design and it could stir the consumers’ curiosity and purchasing will.

VI Design of the South China Opera House This VI Design is done for the South China Opera House (a fictive theatre) in our CI Design course, including its logo, business card, envelop, invitation card, a VI manual etc.

Handicrafts In the duration of the time when I was in Shu-Te University in Taiwan as an exchange student, I had a chance to attend some traditional handicrafts making courses. And here are some of my works come from that time.
Jade Leaves Mixed color glasswork which looks like jade leaf when molded.

The Warring States Bead It is a kind of decoration appearing in the Warring States period (B.C. 403—B.C. 221) characterized by “dragonfly eyes” ornament and matching in different colors comes out with beautiful effects.
