SPECIFICATIONS SAE J 300
It exceeds the requirements of the highest American (API SL/CF) and European (ACEA A3/B3/B4) classifications, as well as specifications of the leading automobile manufacturers (BMW, MB, Porsche, and VW).
Differentiating motor oils by viscosity using standards developed by the American Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), was begun in the 20th century. Current specification SAE J 300 of viscosity of motor oils was introduced in December 1999. Both producers of oils, as well as automobile manufacturers from all over the world use it. The specification establishes oil marking depending on their viscosity at low temperatures (engine cold start) and at high (working) temperatures. The SAE J 300 specification defines requirements for the viscosity of "winter" (SAE 0W, 5W, 10W, 15W, 20W, 25W) and "summer" (SAE 20, 30, 40, 50, 60) motor oils. Oils, which can satisfy requirements to both "summer" and "winter" ones, are called multigrade oils. According to the SAE J 300 specification, they are marked as SAE 0W-30, 10W-40, 5W-50, or 10W-60. With the help of these markings, it is easy to determine oil viscosity. The lower is the number before the letter "W" (which stands for "winter"), the easier it will be to start an engine at low temperatures (See Note). Thus, the easiest start will be with the SAE 0W-30(40) oil. The bigger the number before the "summer" viscosity, the better is the carrying capacity of the oil at working temperature. The oil with the viscosity of SAE 10W-60 stands extreme temperature loads and rally rides. Note. The "minus 35" rule. Subtract 35 from the first number of the viscosity and you will get the temperature, when your engine will easily start on this oil. For example, the oil 5W-50 can be used with the temperature below –30 °С. (5 – 35 = –30 °С).
BASE The base XADO Atomic oil 10W-60 SL/CF Rally Sport is created on the synthetic hydrocarbons (polyalphaolefines), obtained from the oil components from the North Sea shelf.
