Welcome to the 41st edition of the Autumn Alliance. This year is a bit different with the passing of Jack. He enjoyed the Hereford fraternity and everything involved with raising and producing high quality cattle. The time he spent travelling, meeting and interacting with people was something he truly enjoyed. His passion for exceeding in everything he did will seldom be matched. Jack showed true enjoyment whether it was touring Medonte pastures or at other sales chatting with fellow breeders. The old saying that “the cattle bring us together but it’s the people that keep us in it” is definitely true in regards to Jack. We were picturing the sale group the other day, and many times I would be waiting to hear his voice telling me “that one is really good, why are we selling her?” Jack wasn’t just my employer, he was a close and dear friend that I miss.

As far as our sale offering this year, we are as deep in quality as we ever have been. The young cows are in their prime. The heifer calves selected are a great cross selection of futuristic genetics and design. For the first time in many years we have opened up the gate to the yearling heifer pen and hand picked from the top end. As well as a couple of trend setting herd sires that offer an abundance of genetic punch. The Autumn Alliance partners are once again offering their best. We also are welcoming Roots & Wings. To my fiancé, Randi-Lynn, thanks for everything you do to contribute to the smooth running of Medonte. To Faith Walker and Hannah MacDonald, thanks for all you do. As well to the many friends’ that help out here during the year, it’s appreciated. Lois, Jim and myself look forward to seeing everyone Saturday evening for some refreshments and of course Sunday September 17th. Contact any of us if further information is required.
