18th Annual Blue Collar Bull Sale
The Blue Collar Bull Sale has become a great source of “Blue Collar” bulls serving the area with a high quality set of Angus bulls. Backed by the Frick family which exemplifies a passion for the breed that is now into the 3rd generation at Northern View Angus. Parkwood Farms has been registering Angus cattle for over 65 years and again is very much again a family affair that is now into the 4th generation. What does all of this mean? The roots of these family operations are firmly planted in the area and take being your seedstock supplier very seriously.
The diversity of the Angus breed allows for great options that will fit a myriad of management scenarios. Keeping their eye on the prize in serving such a high number of repeat customers year in and out is the key to a successful operation. If you haven’t attended a Blue Collar sale, put it on your “to do” list for this spring and check out what all the noise is about, it’ll be worth the trip! The cattle will be on display starting Friday afternoon for you to have a one on one discussion with both operations on what genetics fit your program best. Should you need any assistance in your selections feel welcome to give myself a call and would be happy to help you sort through your needs. Working with two great operations like Parkwood Farms and Northern View Angus for over twenty years gives a great understanding as to their operations.
See you sale day!

Welcome to the 18th Annual Blue Collar Bull Sale. The Blue Collar group hopes that all is well with you and your family. A person blinks and 18 years of Sales with our friends at Parkwood Farms has happened. Sheesh time flies when you’re having fun.
Agriculture always chucks twists and turns at us. Precipitation, run off, water supply, feed supply are always things that are concern for us. Throw in commodity price uncertainty, input costs increase, land rent and prices on the rise and well you soon realize that this farming gig is not for the faint at heart. Maybe there was less stress in teaching? LOL!!! However, the lifestyle in Agriculture, the people and social connections are top shelf and really what keeps a person in the game.
This cattle deal is hitting record prices for feeders, grassers, cows, replacements, and breeding stock. Futures continue to be strong and the prices you can secure your calves, grassers for the fall are extremely strong. There is really no sign of this deal slowing down any time soon.
Now while you chase those record prices you know full well that compromising quality will not secure them. To do that you still need to produce the best steers, heifers… This is where we at the Blue Collar Group can help. We believe that we are offering some of the best bulls and heifers in the industry for you to advance your program with great replacement females and market topping feeder calves.
Throughout the catalogue you will find an entire host of information to aid you in your bull or heifer selection. There are footnotes, pictures, pedigrees, weights, sire and dam information… Videos are online but please feel free to contact any one of us for more information or better yet stop by our farms to view the bulls prior to the sale.
The Blue Collar Bull Sale Group would like to thank the following for their contribution to the success of our sale:
- Everyone who attended last year’s sale, our bidders and buyers.
- All our friends and family who helped us before, during and after the sale.
- All our advertisers and sponsors - We do business with all of them and recommend you give them a try, too.
- To Castlerock Marketing, Colton McIntosh, Levi Hull and the Heartland Staff’s and all our friends for their work on our sale. We believe that we have a solid and supportive team who can work to make sure that you are well taken care of and your livestock needs are met. Please contact any member of the Blue Collar Group or the sales staff with any questions to help you select the animals to meet your needs.
Once again, we are going to start our sale with pens of commercial heifers. The Minhinnick’s, Davis’s, Vollman’s and Hansen’s bring you quality females. Many of these heifers come from bulls that have been purchased from the Bull Collar consignors. Look to increase the productivity of your cow herd with these quality genetics.
We would like to again welcome, Irving Angus-John and Keri Irving and Family, as guest consignors of 4 wonderful yearling Angus heifers. The Irving’s present to you sound, deep bodied and eye appealing females. These heifers are located at Northern View Angus for presale viewing.
We would also like to make you aware that Trustmark Agencies from Melville, will be on hand sale day to assist you with the insurance of your purchases. As breeders we will support you, the buyer, in every way we can to ensure our cattle work. However, there are unforeseen events which occur, like illness, injury, or death, which the buyer and seller cannot control or guarantee. For situations like this there is insurance. We strongly recommend you insure all your livestock purchases but want you to ensure any cattle which will be going home to our respective farms for a while. Please refer to back of catalogue for all sale conditions.
We take pride in the fact that we have an increased number of repeat customers. Please refer to the list of last years Blue Collar purchasers at the back of the catalogue. We truly enjoy the connections and socialization which is involved with our customers and the cattle business. We would like to invite you to give us a call or drop by our farms for a visit any time.
Consider this your invitation to come to Heartland in Yorkton on Thursday, April 11th from 3PM-7PM and Friday, April 12th from 9AM to 7PM for a viewing of the cattle and fellowship. On Sale Day, Saturday, April 13th cattle can be viewed beginning at 10 am. We will be having a lunch on sale day from 11 am to sale time.
See you at the Sale!
Troy, on behalf of Blue Collar Sale Group
Northern View Angus
Boy it is hard to believe that we are back at bull sale time again. We are truly blessed for each and every day and year but man they sure fly by. It our sincere wish that you are all doing well, your operation is flourishing, and you are in good health. This is now our 18th Blue Collar sale. It is our pleasure to continue to work our friends and partners at Parkwood Farms, over the entire 18 years. Once again, we welcome our friends from Irving Angus, the Minnihinicks, the Davies and the Hansens with heifers this year. We have been working hard each year to bring you the best bulls we can produce. Our goal is to provide sound marketable cattle and strong replacement females to build a herd around. As a seed stock producer, we work hard to build our own herd around cows and cow families who just flat out produce year after year. If you trace back in our cow families we started with the Ruth’s, Beauty’s, Princesses and Lucy’s. We have added some other strong females which have only strengthened our herd. The next wave of cows we added were the Susan’s, Tibbies’, Rosebuds, Duchesses, Zara Lisa’s and Jestresses. We treat our cows well, with respect and kindness. They in turn seem to do the same for us as our cows have tremendous temperament and disposition. We then notice this same trait in our calves-bulls and heifers alike. We know full well that our cows need to work and produce well. Our selection process is one that seeks cows that are functional, sound footed, good uddered, practical, easy fleshing, easy calving, good mothering and push the envelop in terms of performance. It is our belief that our bulls on offered are backed by these kinda cows.
We are retaining a 1/3 semen interest in all our bulls unless otherwise stated. This does not impact you owning the bull, the rights to walk the bull or the salvage value on the bull. All it means that if at some point we would like to draw semen for in herd use we would arrange at your convenience and our expense to do so.
Someone once told me that if your cows are good enough you can use any bull and be fine. We don’t feel that’s a great plan no matter how good one’s cows are. Why take that chance? This year we have bulls from AI sires-DL Rainmaker, Deer Valley Growth Fund, Mogck Entice, SAV Rainfall, High Point Cache, Scheifelbien Attractive, Scheifelbein Effective and Brookdale Brutus. Our walking bulls do not hold a back seat to any sire and are headlined by Northern View Super Duty 89F, Northern View Cha Ching 98J, Northern View Rumble 109J, Bell Breaking News 9F, Northern View Nitrous 84G and CorVet Milkdud 21E.
We have really worked on not pushing our bulls. Feeding them a ration of 1% of their body weight in their feed and the balance of their ration with brome, timothy, orchard grass and intermediate wheat grass hay. The hay is of excellent quality this year. We monitor the feed intake of our bulls with regular manure checks to ensure no overfeeding and to promote a sound growing bull that will work for you for the long term. We target a growth rate of 3-3.5lbs average daily gain. They have free choice lick tubs to promote scrotal development, semen quality and structural soundness. The bulls are raised in large pens and/or pasture areas to allow for ample room to wander, rumble and explore.
I have catalogued our bulls in sire groups and in numerical order of when they were born within that group. The oldest bull is first, and the youngest bull is last of that sire group. Quality is strong from lots 2-31.
Please follow us on social media on Facebook, Instagram, SnapChat and X. We will have regular posts, snaps…
Please note that our pictures and videos were done February 22nd and 23rd. They are a tool to select bulls, but we invite you to come see the bulls in person.
Thank you to those who have supported us in our sale preparations and presentation of our Bulls.

Lot 1: DONATION LOT
It goes without saying that there is such a thing that is out there, the dreaded, “Lot 1 Curse.” Cue the goosebumps and shivers. Amy says to me, “Troy your being stupid!” But when it comes to superstition, I do know that the Grey Russell T-Shirt I wore and never washed for 10 years for my senior and rec hockey career brought me luck. As soon as Amy said, “I couldn’t stand it anymore and I washed your hockey shirt.” Well, that luck and my goal scoring “prowess” dropped off-I think. Any way, that superstitious nature has prompted us to offer something up a little bit different this year. We are offering a Lot 1 choice of two opportunities to get something for yourself, as well as give back. All proceeds from Lot 1 will be split equally between the Yorkton Regional 4H and the Canadian Angus Foundation.
The Northern View Experience and the mineral package will be auctioned in Dutch Auction style to start the sale. Tickets would be auctioned at a value of $10 per ticket. If you bid $200 you would receive 20 tickets that would be entered into the draw. If you bid $150 you would receive 15 tickets that would be entered in the draw. The winner of the draw will have choice of these options. The draw will occur before the purebred heifers sell. Winner selection will be randomly generated by a computer program developed by DLMS. The item not selected will be auctioned off immediately after the winner’s selection is made. The mineral package has a retail value of $800. The mineral tubs have been donated by our friends Dan & Jackie SawleyNew Rosedale Mineral Dealers, Clayton Hawreluik-SweetPro Mineral Dealers, Parkwood Farms and Northern View AngusBoss Mineral Dealers. Thank you all for your generosity.
The Northern View Experience for 2-4 people. This experience at Northern View has a value that some may consider priceless!. This experience has been enjoyed by some of our friends and customers over the years. It has involved side by side tours of our local pastures which are located within 3 miles or less of the farm and host 90% of our herd for the summer. There will be bull calf pairs, heifer calf pairs, herd bulls and bred heifers available for touring. Depending on the time of year we have picked saskatoons, watched the sunset from the “Northern View”, took pictures in the blooming canola, cereal crops, hayfields….. There will obviously be refreshments to quench your thirst. Music can be played on the Bose Speaker; I have refined my 80’s playlist. Bocce ball, testicle toss aka latter ball, bean bag toss... could be an option to play. Some good old-fashioned deck sittin’ could be done. All this would be culminated with an Angus steak and all the fixing supper. We look forward to hosting and the fellowship with the folks who select or buy this experience.
Thank you in advance for supporting the youth of the Yorkton Regional 4H and the Canadian Angus Association as outlined in the Ad.

DL RAINMAKER 1879
We selected Rainmaker as an outcross powerhouse pedigree on a bull with incredible power and design. He boasts the top 1% of the breed for weaning weight, yearling weight, and scrotal size. There are only 97 progenies in Canada. We have produced 20 of them. The disturbing thing from our end is that there is no more semen available on this bull. These three sons maybe your only opportunity to get in on these outcross genetics. We will have a daughter calving out this spring. She looks great. We have 8 more we will be breeding this spring. Princess 19L was the Sweetheart all breeds champion at Harvest Showdown in Yorkton this past fall. Look to the Rainmaker progeny for power, style, and structure.

“ALL ABOARD!” Thomas the Train is a bull that is as attractive, powerful, sound and genetically appealing a bull as you might find this bull sale season. His length of body is unparalleled. Forgive me as I may start sounding like Charlie Browns teacher to you….WA WA WA WA WAAA.. Alpha Man 1L is a bull that when I walk the feed bunk, I admire his flow from his head to shoulder to loin to hip. This tremendously haired bull has wonderful length and depth of body too. Structurally this bull is built well from the ground up. This is no surprise given his proven maternal genetics here. Ruth 906G is a gorgeous made, great uddered, angus Density daughter that has really rung the bell here. Her grandmother, Ruth 84S, is still going here at 18 years old. She had a Jan 20th Super Duty 89F daughter and is doing a terrific job with her. We call this heifer calf Millie. Ask me about the whole story of her birth if you have not seen the story on Facebook. Sadly, Ruth 84S took a turn for the worse and had to be sent where the pastures are always lush and green. February 20th was a super sad day for us. As the saying goes it takes a village to raise a child well it takes a herd to raise a calf. Millie has a whole host of moms which are ensuring she is doing well. Suffice it to say this little girl will be in the replacement pen in the fall. Alpha Man 1L is exactly that as he has impressive growth and weights being in the top 2% for weaning and top 4% for yearling weights gaining an impressive 3.75 lbs per day. Ample scrotal development with him too. This guy has a wonderful personality and will be the first bull to greet you as you enter the pen.

Wow Wow Wow! Well If you ever had a footnote that could write itself this guy might be it. “You can call me AL!” He is a hairy deep side bull with all the makings of herd sire. Cattle folks from at all levels want bulls that impress from the ground up and come from that great cow. Well, here you go. AL is halter broke and a member of our All-Breeds Grand Champion Pen of Bulls at the 2023 Harvest Showdown in Yorkton. This bull has a wonderful head and nice broad muzzle with which to gobble feed. As you analyse this bull you will also appreciate his depth of body and broad loin. Maternally this guy is a rock star. His powerhouse dam has two daughters working in our herd. One produced Lot 23. Ruth 109D has gifted her depth, power, style and structure to AL. Please note his moderate birth weight coupled with wonderful growth and performance with weaning and yearling weights in the top 4% and 7% of the breed. Looking for a bull that will improve structure, add depth and produce those front pasture females? Alpha Man 7L could answer that for you.
Northern View Angus
“Ding Ding”, Tibbie 88C has rung the bell again. She simply produces year after year. Andre here is the highest performing bull in the offering gaining a consistent 3.9lbs a day to weaning and yearling weights. He is a certified box checker when it comes to grow, power and maternal prowess. I have heard time after time, “I don’t want smaller calves that can’t break the skin when they come out.”, “I want a calf that has lots of bone and hair to survive our cold winters.” Andre should help you out with the right kind of calves that will have you saying, “Now that’s a calf.”
Tibbie 88C is a CAA elite dam after 7 calves and 9 grandcalves. We lost this cow this year and a few tissues were needed for sure. She has two daughters that are working very well here. One had a Rainmaker daughter sell to Abound Livestock at the Touch of Class in Saskatoon last fall and the other has Lot 8 in this sale. We used 88C’s Attractive son for ourselves two years ago too. The Minnhinck’s from Invermay purchased Andre’s full brother at last year’s Blue Collar.
This bull is tie broke, has good temperament and easy to manage. More than ample scrotal development here too. Look to Andre to produce calves that will be scale spring snapping come fall with daughters to build around.
Deer Valley GROWTH FUND
Suffice it to say, I have been intrigued by Growth Fund for a few years because of his outcross pedigree, nicely made front end and his masculine muscle expression and his mobility in his videos. I saw some progeny at Agribition in the fall of 2021 and decided to order so semen for the 2022 breeding season. His EPD battery for performance and growth is 2nd to none. It is quite evident in the sheer growth and mass in the 4 sons in our offering. The females we have are equally impressive and have a nice feminine look to them.
Here is a bull that has had that “IT” factor from the start. His strong top, deep/long body and smooth make up are characteristics you will certainly admire. This guy has a moderate birth weight complimented by high end performance in the top 1 to 2% of the breed. This bull’s dam, Lucy 71C, is a powerful productive Unanimous daughter. This cow traces back to our truly first home raised herd sire, Elixir 70M. She has produced strong bulls and heifers each year. Her consistency and strength are proven as she has become a CAA Elite/Premier dam this spring. This good haired, big nutted bull has an impressive leg and foot to him. Cosmic Event 29L is halter broke and a member

This deep and long sided bull has great temperament too. His performance is at the top 1 and 2% of the breed to boot. Susan 47Z is the foundational cow for this family here. She has two daughters producing in our herd. One is 122B a CAA Elite dam. We also used an Attractive son of 47Z as a clean up bull this past summer. Simply put here is a raw power bull for your cows.

Its like looking in the mirror when you look at lot 6. Cosmic Event 39L patterns his build and design almost identical 37L. A good growthy, hairy bull backed by a structurally sound, very good footed and ideally uddered cow. This guy impresses me in his development more and more each day. If you are looking up frame your cows a little this could be a very good bull for you.
You know how when you walk into a social event and see the best-looking girl/guy there and can’t take your eyes off them? Well, this bull is kinda like that. As you scan the pen, he will inevitably catch your eye and you will follow, chase him around the pen for a better look. You will do this not for anyone trait but just his flat-out completeness. It’s really interesting how some bulls grab your attention for show appeal, size, conformation, shape… but don’t put it all together. Jeffery as we call him has a very usable birth weight but lights out performance too in the top 2% of the breed gaining our targeted 3.5lbs a day. Tibbie 123F is a Thrive daughter out of Tibbie 88C, the dam to lot 4. We sold a Thrive son out of the Blue Collar to Bryan Elaschuk, Wroxton, Sk. If you are facebook friends with Bryan you will have likely seen Hammer Down 101H. He is flat fantastic. Jeffery is the kinda bull that does not do one or two things well but pretty much everything right. The Tibbie 123F/Growth Fund mating caused a “Big Bang” here in this complete creation of this guy. A bull that puts it all together for you.

Mogck ENTICE
Entice is the long bodied, deep sided, tonnes of rib shape and attractive Enhance son. We used this bull for his phenotypical appeal, impressive curve bending numbers and large scrotal development on his calves. In the Angus breed, Entice is in top 2% for weaning, top 1% for yearling and top 1% for scrotal development. These are all extremely important boxes that need to be checked for us to use a bull. Entice is known for his outstanding temperament. This is without a doubt exemplified in the gentle nature of his calves at our place. We have some Entice daughters working for us and they are excellent. An Entice Son, Enigma 10K sold to Austin Vollman of Preeceville, Sk. in last year’s Blue Collar.

A calving easy bull with lots of spine, smooth shoulders and ample performance to him. This guy Is the kinda bull that should mature out as a thick bull that will add angularity, femineity to his females that will become excellent replacements. The Entice daughters we have are wonderful and the Rosebud side of things just adds to 44L’s appeal. Rosebud 72E has two daughters working in our herd. A grandson sells as lot 11. As we all know, the true value of a bull is not known until his daughters are in production. In 2022, a son of 72E was purchased by Spilchuks at Ituna for a heifer bull. In my conversation with them he has been a great calving easy sire, his sons grow, thicken and push the scale down and the daughters are very attractive and are ones to keep for replacements. Enigma 44L should also possess similar attributes. Recommended for heifers.
SAV RAINFALL
We, like most everyone, do not want issues calving out heifers. As a result, we try to always use the absolute best calving ease sires we can find. We want heifers to have an easy time calving and spring into action after calving and not lay there exhausted with the calf laying in a mess behind her. Rainfall is the ticket here as we have been using him for 4 years now. Calves come easy, wanna live and just go flat out. We have used Rainfall on heifers and cows for the past three years now. The bulls are highly marketable with lots of shape and style. The daughters are like, “WOW!!!” Great angus females, great moms, and wonderful temperament. Udders are lights out. Rainfall has a large number of progenies in Canada and his EPD profile comes with a high degree of accuracy. This is a consistency you can take to the bank. The three sons we have on offer here could be entered in a pen show as they are virtual carbon copies of one another.

I know you will appreciate this bulls overall shape and mass too. Belle 144J is a really nice three-year-old cow that was more than happy to get rid of this big 8A$TA#D at 835lbs at weaning. He gained an impressive 3.43lbs per day after that. This bull is in the top 10% of the breed with his performance. Obviously, great milking performance genetics here. Well Georgy boy here is nothing short of spectacular. He grew to a whapping 60lbs inside and then kaboom he exploded from there. As the saying goes, “A calf doesn’t need to grow inside, they can grow outside.” This is so true. So many of us work off farm, have large herds and don’t have time to putz around with calving and/or nursing issues. The Rainfalls seem to take those worries away. George is a docile stud with excellent shape, conformation, and structure. His dam, Rosebud 97J, is one that is truly a complete angus cow. Look confidently at George for your calving ease needs. Recommended for heifers.

Attractive is known for his great hip, added shape and mass. We are super impressed with his progeny here. His calves have tremendous loin and complete tops and awesome overall balance. His calves have oodles of hair. Interestingly, Attractive has less than 1134 registered animals in Canada. Attractive has been working well for us for 6 years now. He has produced many high functioning hard working females for us and very marketable daughters for us. The Attractives are hairy, growthy cattle with good bone. We did not use Attractive last year to AI as we were trying to get a bit of genetic diversity for our customers. Attractives young daughters here are fast becoming the next generation of females here. Last year Attractive son, Stellar 69K, sold to Brydon Cattle Co. at Birtle MB.

Stellar 38L is a hairy and eye appealing bull. He is built for calving easy with a small attractive head and smooth shoulder. He has a modest birth weight with a good birth epd. The performance of this bull is considered solid in my mind. This bull does a lot of things well with no real extremes. Zara Lisa 141F is a very good young cow backed by some real long term high performance females. She has had 4 bull calves here and all have gone for breeding stock. She just had her first heifer which will likely be a keeper for us. Recommended for heifers.

Stellar 62L is a deep bodied, hairy and stylish bull. He possesses high end maternal strength with Elite Dams 99Z and 88C in his pedigree. This bull is very eye catching. He like to present himself well. Stellar 62L’s dam is a deep bodied, attractive, and powerful Super Duty 89F daughter. These girls are quickly proving to be the right kind of Angus cows. We have two other maternal sisters to 120H producing super well for us too. Stellar 62L is a stylish, smooth made bull with moderate and solid numbers. He is a bull that you would likely be able to keep all his daughters and build around. Recommended for heifers.

My footnotes on Super Duty 89F are a bit Energizer Bunnyesk. They just keep going and going and going. AKA Neil, Super Duty 89F, has been nothing short of spectacular for us. He is a bull that we have entrusted to do pretty much everything well but not blow you away in any one area. Neil is the kinda bull that will pretty up udders and improve the foot on cattle. As the saying goes, you won’t truly know how good a bull is until his daughters start producing. Well, suffice it to say, we are there, and Neil’s value has skyrocketed. His daughters and sons have both been high sellers for us. They are marketable and desirable cattle. The number daughters in our herd are flirting with 25% with good reason. Their udders are stunning, structure outstanding, their production top shelf and their attitude is second to none. They are what we and others have considered beautiful Angus females. Princess 99Z is an Elite dam who only gave us one daughter who is a carbon copy of 99Z so we are thrilled. Neil’s grandmother, Princess 95X, was AIed Thunder last spring and just had a full sister to 99Z here in February. To say we are excited to have recreated this genetic gem is an understatement. We also used Rumble 109J, son of 99Z on heifers. A son sells as lot 21. Neil’s legacy is being rewritten year after year and despite having lots of Neil in our herd already I know we will look back when he’s gone and say, “I wish we had more of Neil in our herd.”
Good old Leo here is going to be a calving ease expert. He is long bodied, smooth made from muzzle to tail and a real pain in the butt. Leo is kitten quiet. You will notice Leo is missing a tick of ear but his mom simply loved him to much and was one of those lickers. We do guarantee Leo’s progeny will at least come out with ears. Leo is a neat bull possessing a 72lb bw and a -0.4 birth epd putting him in the top 9% of the breed for calving ease. He should be a perennial heifer bull. His mom, 88H, is a deep powerful and attractive Thrive daughter. Look to Leo to love you and your heifers. Maternal sister sold to Gert Janssens, Cookshire Eaton, Quebec Recommended for heifers.

This Feb 1 born bull has all the tools to make a great young heifer bull for his entire life. This mild-mannered fella lost his mom in June and had to fend for himself till weaning. Consequently, his numbers aren’t what they could/should be. The genes are there as Lucy 87X was a productive, deep, powerful and sound cow. She had 12 calves here and made us nothing but money. I know some folks don’t like to keep cows this long but for us that longevity is super important. Look to Super Duty 46L to be an easy calving nice little heifer bull for many years. A sound made performance bull. I absolutely love, love, love this guy’s mom. She is a beautiful South Dakota daughter that is a powerfully framed, good footed, nice square level uddered female. I know some folks want that smaller cow as they eat less feed and can still produce “that calf.” However, some other folks also say, “Well Troy, there is value in a culled cow too.” While both these statements may be true it boils down to a personal preference. What I can tell you is that this is quite a cow and this is quite a bull. Any females from this bull are ones you should hang onto.

This March 1 bull impresses me more and more each day. “Why?” Well, I have always loved his look, muscle expression and overall mass but I noticed more and more his wonderful foot, leg, appealing head and depth. I am an A$$ man and start looking at bull from the back and then go over the loin….If these areas don’t appeal to me, like they do with Super Duty 86L, then I’m a hard sell on the rest of the bull. This stud of a bull sports a manageable birth weight but above average and powerful performance numbers. He is backed by a very good young Resource/Belle cow. Belle 105G is a deep powerful young cow here. Her dam Belle 117B produced a Super Duty 125J, Calvin, as our high selling bull ever to East Point Cattle Co. We liked this bull so much that we approached Shane and Erin to buy back in to this bull and they agreed. Calvin is a real tank and sports a large scrotal and very good foot and leg. He has started producing some real neat progeny her for us. Super Duty 86L is a Neil bull that I believe is the closest looking to what Calvin was as a yearling. With the look of Super Duty 86L and his genetic make up I believe this guy is a bull that one should really have a close look at.

In the spring of 2019, we were looking for a bull that would work well on heifers but also put some shape, muscle and punch in his calves. We were pleasantly surprised to stumble on 9F. We were very familiar with the Lucy cows at Ken’s and how well they have done for him and us. A Lucy cow was one of the first Angus cows we purchased from Ken. 9F’s granddam is a CAA elite dam. Breaking News 9F was the high selling bull that day at the Triple A. We were extra pleased to be able to partner up with Ken on this guy.

A March made calving ease specialist here. Nitrous 87L is a deep sided, unbelievably hairy bull. Really neat mass and structure to him plus a big old bucket o’ nuts under him. This bull should be a real female maker. His dam, Ruth 70F, has done nothing but improve and become a stunning Angus female here. She is the kinda cow you would love to duplicate multiple times. Refer to Lots 2 & 3 for more Ruth comments. Having Ruth 84S, Effective and Resistol in his pedigree equates to calving ease with lots of maternal prowess. Inferno 84G is a good footed, massive Angus bull. We have used him each year as a clean up bull. It is important for us to have solid marketable calves from our walking bulls too. We own him with our good friends at Venture Farms in Roblin, MB. Nitrous 87L is an attractive curve bending kinda bull with appealing calving ease and above average performance. We have used Cache because of his impressive mass, phenotype, performance numbers, scrotal development, milk and outcross genetics. The Cache progeny here all have the same look, even the little rascals that just hit the ground this year. He sports a modest birth weight and solid performance numbers gaining over 3.25lbs per day to weaning and yearling weights putting him in the top 10% of the breed for these weights. This bull is easily the best calf Seduction 414B has had here. This powerful female was a show girl at Hollinger’s. She was admired and quite successful as a show heifer. Look to Cha Ching 32L to have an excellent attitude, moderate smooth made calves and offspring that should grow and produce. This bull is one I would try on larger heifers and second calvers in year one to ensure that he calves out easy before trying him exclusively on first calvers.

“More power, ooh, ooh ooh.” For you Home Improvement fans. Frank the Tank is loaded with muscle and red meat and is a scale spring popping beast. At Agribition he was the heaviest bull in his age group gaining over 4.2lbs per day to that point. He was and is far from fat. 62L’s performance places him in an impressive 1% of the breed. Frank has a maturity about him that makes him a physical stand out. Big old hip and rump to him with an excellent set of danglers under him. Frank’s dam is a deep powerful Reno daughter. She has an outstanding Super Duty 89F daughter who had a very good Rainfall bull calf on the ground. This good uddered good footed female is doing a great job on her first calf. We used a maternal sib as a clean up bull, lost him far to early but he did leave a stunning female for us. She is the granddam to lot 30. The maternal grandmother is in the cow pic. You can certainly see her feminine angus head and front end. Frank is halter broke and attended Agribition as a February born calf. He was admired and respected enough to place third in class there. If you are looking to add mass, shape and pounds to your next years calf crop Frank maybe a bull to pursue.

When you add some Zara Lisa on the top of the pedigree the potential for a female making machine is here. Our family would like to welcome you to the 18th Annual Blue Collar Bull Sale. Hard to believe it’s been 18 years already! We have truly enjoyed working with Northern View Angus, all of our past guest consignors and our past bull sale customers who have brought commercial heifers to the sale each year.
Our family has been raising purebred Angus cattle since 1933 and have been registering calves with the Canadian Angus Association for 83 years. We currently have the Fifth generation of Parkwood Farm actively raising Angus cattle and working on the farm. We are proud to be a family run operation.
First, we would like to thank our past and present customers. You are the reason we continue to work hard to offer these bulls and we are proud to see our bulls working on your farms!
This past year has been an exciting time for Parkwood Farm. We were honoured to be a part of the 2023 Saskatchewan Angus Tour. It was great to meet new people and see old faces while they toured our herd. We also showcased our herd as a part of the Masterpiece Sale and Harvest Showdown in Yorkton. We’d like to thank everyone who supported us at these sales.1
We have on offer a wide variety of genetics, including Ellingson Three Rivers, Square B Atlantis, Peak Dot Trust and Brookdale Brutus just to name a few. We are continually searching for new sire groups that will provide moderate birth weights as well as growth to the weaning and yearling stages. We also run a small feedlot operation, so we understand the need to have performance bred into these calves for when they go to market. When selecting genetics it is also very important to us to breed and develop a strong, maternal female group that is the foundation of our herd. Through the use of our herd bulls, AI sires and embryo purchases we feel that we have a strong and productive group of females on our farm.
These bulls are on a full vaccination program from birth to sale and our feed nutritionist, Jessica Hextall from Trouw Nutrition, works with us to test our feed and to develop rations to ensure the bulls are getting the nutrition required to develop into mature bulls. They also have Sweet-Pro lick tubs available in the pen.
We stand behind our bulls 100% and are proud of our offering. We will work with our customers to ensure their breeding needs are met should any concerns arise.
We would also like to thank our family and friends who help us sale day in the barns and in the office! We appreciate all of your help!

We are very excited to lead off this years’ group of bulls with some new genetics from one of the most exciting and highly regarded bulls to enter stud., Brookdale Brutus 390. 30L is powerful in character and presence with incredible muscle shape and bone. He’s in the top 1% of the breed for weaning weight and yearling weight. 30L is backed by a highly maternal cow, raising numerous bulls for past sales as well as daughters retained in our herd. This bull was a crowd favourite this summer at our farms portion of the Saskatchewan Angus Tour.

Unfortunately this is our only Three Rivers son we have to offer this year. He followed his sires’ footsteps by displaying tremendous power and mass, packed into a bold-middled, sharp fronted package. We have now calved out our first set of Three Rivers daughters. We are extremely impressed with their docility, milking ability and maternal instincts. Three Rivers was our top selling sire group at the 2023 Blue Collar Bull Sale.

We selected Ellingson Turn Key because he was the lead off Three Rivers son at the 2021 Ellingson Bull Sale, and this is one of the first sons to be sold in Canada. He has all the performance traits of his sire in a bit more moderate package. 67L is a hairy performance orientated bull with added shape and dimension.

66L is a high performance bull with volume, length and muscle that will have the ability to sire calves that will be easily marketable. He’s an ideal sire for heavy weaning progeny. Over the years we have kept numerous South Dakota daughters in our herd. They are a highly attractive, feminine and productive group.
9E
We purchased these embryos from Youngdale Angus and achieved great success in getting three female calves and two bull calves. We were excited to get calves out of Youngdale Pollyanna 30U, as she is quoted as “instilling in her progeny the profitable broody cow look, with added dimension and bone.”
Reckoning was the Intermediate Angus Champion at both the 2021 OKC Cattleman’s Congress and 2020 NAILE. His dam was also a multiple time champion, who was quoted as producing breed changers.
These bulls are not only bulls to improve show quality but are a great choice to improve herds of all types with their tremendous character, testicle shape, joint and foot quality and overall excellent phenotype.

57L is going to be very hard to part with. This heifer was the result of a group of embryos we purchased. We have three full sisters that are like peas in a pod, so we very reluctantly decided to let one go. These sisters are ultra feminine, deep and thick bodied and we are very excited to see what they will bring to our herd.
Welcome to the 18th Annual Blue Collar Bull Sale! This is our third trip bringing open heifers to Yorkton, and we continue to be grateful to the Blue Collar Sale Group for extending this opportunity. With world demand for beef increasing sharply, and overall Canadian herd numbers dropping, these young females will present an opportunity of their own.
The 4 Irving Angus open heifers on offer have all received Bovi-Shield Gold One Shot, Ultrabac 7 Somubac, and Ivomec application. We, once again, moved the group to Northern View Angus in early February to provide time to settle and to reduce travel stress prior to sale.
In our 24th year, we continue our work on developing efficient, functional females that are highly maternal, and raised under natural range conditions. The heifers will be located at Northern View for presale viewing. Thinking of adding a new genetic line or growing your herd? Take a moment to consider this group.
Hoping to see you on sale day!

This has turned into a very productive cow line for us at Irving Angus. The sire, Northern View Stellar 91J is a direct son of Scheifelbein Attractive 4565. 91J is proving to be a nice combination of power/performance and calving ease. 10L is moderately built and designed for efficiency. TERMS & CONDITIONS
Breeding Guarantee
All cattle are sound and right, and all with a responsible breeder guarantee of satisfaction. In the event of any unlikely dispute, the regular terms and conditions, standard with the Canadian Angus Association shall apply.
Warranty
Blue Collar consignors guarantee to sell you a bull that is structurally sound and has passed a semen test performed by a licensed veterinarian. Should the bull fail to perform as a satisfactory breeder (unable to service cow or heifer) he will be replaced with a bull of equal value. If this is not possible an adjustment will be made to reflect the value of the bull or a credit will be given towards the purchase of another bull. We guarantee to provide you with a breeding bull for the season. We will not however provide replacement or adjustment for death, physical injury or mismanagement. Claims must be made by September 1 of year of purchase. With this in mind, we cannot stress enough the importance of insurance on your bull purchases.
Insurance
Insurance agents will be available sale day, or you can make other insurance arrangements through your own agent. Insurance must be purchased on all bulls that return to the respective farms.
Sight Unseen Program
Tell us your requirements and we’ll select bulls that meet those orders. If you are not 100% satisfied when the trailer is in your yard, you don’t own him, no questions asked.
18th Annual Blue Collar Bull Sale
Delivery
If you pick up your bull sale day or the day after, you will receive $100 off the purchase price of your bull. We will work with you to get your bull to your farm free of charge within 100 miles. Delivery time, date and location of bull will be negotiated between buyer and seller. We try to coordinate delivery based on bulls going to certain parts of the world. We will have a trailer heading to your area prior to when you want to start using the bull. Please work with us to receive your bull when we can get him there. If you cannot take the bull when we have a trailer coming to your area, we would appreciate contacting us to make arrangements to pick up your bull.
Bulls going over 100 miles from our respective farms may have transportation charges applied to the delivery of your bull. These charges will be worked out between buyer and seller. We ask that all bulls be received/picked up prior to June 1. Bulls returning to consignor’s farm will be kept until May 1 at no cost with a $2/day cost after May 1.
Terms of Sale
Cash or cheque at par, payable to clerks of the sale on sale day, unless prior arrangements have been made. No release will be given until satisfactory settlement has been made.
** All persons who attend the sale do so at their own risk and the owners, sale management and sale staff assume no liability, legal or otherwise, for property loss or for any accidents that may occur.
