Welcome Everyone!
Well…Hello there!
It is great to be sitting here, writing this welcome note to you! Jeff, the boys and I are always thankful for the continued interest and support in our program from our valued customers and fellow producers. The words “Thank You” never seem to say enough! This will mark our 5th year showcasing C2’s program since we established our own sales platform in 2019. It feels like a lifetime ago when Jeff started selling bulls privately way back in 2005.
I LOVE the fact that you picked up this catalog! I encourage you to take some time and look it over. It is filled with, what we feel is, a solid exhibit of carefully chosen bulls that will push your program forward—giving you the ability to gain profits at any stage of production. Take us up on our open invitation to stop in at anytime! Come walk through the pen and let’s talk about the right bull to fit your programs’ needs this year. There is a “whole lotta stuff” that happens outside the cattle pens—the ‘behind the scenes’ of our business. Bryan Kostiuk and Jessica Engele are my catalog design “GODS”! They are wonderfully patient and have an uncanny talent to make my visions come to life. The incredibly fabulous ladies at Prairie Pistol Designs are truly the best of the best out there! A picture says a thousand words, and with your skills you have helped make our business soar. Our Nutrition man, Terry, who understands the real deal about raising cattle — your professionalism and your friendship is treasured. Having a trusted, guiding hand at the centre of our management has been instrumental. Knowing that Chris and the boys from T Bar C are working just as hard as we do and truly wanting that eminent outcome for us is a key component to our relationship. They say, “Surround yourself with those who only lift you higher”… and that’s exactly what we have done. Once again, “Thank You” never says enough!
This past year has been an unusually busy one. Topped full with the day to day farm duties, family, a bit of travel, cattle events, sales and a few noteworthy celebrations.
BIG congratulations goes out to Haley Rosso on graduating, with DISTINCTION, from the University of Regina this year. We are crazy proud of you!! Those kids are gonna love you!
A second congratulations goes out to our oldest son, Keegan, on his new permanent position with DLMS. Thank you Mark Shologan for recognizing all the talent, work ethic and dedication our boy has to offer. He’s all yours now, lol!
A hardy round of applause is in order for long time friends and bull customer, Glen and Pam Lowry of Darlingford. Recieving The Environmental Stewardship Award (TESA) at this years Manitoba Beef Producer annual conference is an accomplishment worth celebrating. You can find the link to their story on our website: c2charolais.ca or mbbeef.ca. It is worth the read!
On the cattle side of things, the boys and I set out and did some showing this fall. We made our way to Swift Current, Brandon and Regina. All three animals in our show string earned multiple banners and recognition, with C2 Kong 120k bringing home the Reserve Champion Charolais Bull banner from Ag Ex in Brandon. I think there is no greater feeling in the world than working alongside your children, learning and growing together. Cattle is the perfect catalyst for those opportunities . My heart is so full of pride on the job all 3 of my boys did this year!!!
While we love what the show community offers our family, and the camaraderie it brings amongst breeders, the “real meat and potatoes” happens here at home. Cattle developed on minimal inputs with rotational grazing and a consciousness about the health of our land base is always in the forefront of our minds. We aspire to continuously learn from our changing environment and the weather, the evolving industry on a national and global level and, of course, the cattle themselves.
From the very first privately sold C2 bull to present day, our program standards have remained accurate and transparent. No frills. No gimmicks. We keep things real, work honestly and stay genuine with our customers. Aiming to lead by example, we walk the walk and talk the talk, just like our customers. That handshake we exchange holds merit with us.
Come early on sale day to view the bulls and join us for a steak, spud and Bud! The Kinsmen Club of Manitou cook a mean steak! See you all there!!
- Cheers, Jackie
