Agribition Speckle Park Sale

Sale a normation Welcome to the 2013 edition of the Canadian Western Agribition Speckle Park sale. A year that I believe will go down in the history books as a pivotal year in the beef industry. We are on the cusp of some very exciting times, as inventories continue to decline to the lowest levels in over half a century. With a record crop in Western Canada, feed grains have fallen dramatically leaving feeders more room to compete on a tightly supplied feeder market, pushing the cow calf producer margins finally into a positive position. As I predict strong fall sales, I also predict the cattle you purchase this fall to advance your program will look like bargains in the years to come. As for this year’s offering, as always only the cream of the crop is invited to be a part of this sale. The heifer calves are as good as they have ever been; whether you are looking for a heifer to take out next year and “kick a little butt” or a future donor to enhance your flush program, you can find what you are looking for. As for the bred heifers, all I can says; is you need to own them! Take them home, calve them our and more than likely recoup your total investment with the calf she has in her. If you are more of a futures market investor, then look at the frozen genetics on offer. Trust me, it is very hard to get breeders to part with the good heifers and in many cases the easiest or the only way to access some genetics is by purchasing the embryos or semen. For those of you involved in the Speckle Park breed as breeders I congratulate you on your foresight. I also commend you for your diligence in advancing this Canadian breed around the world. The breed is an envy to most other breeds, as demand out paces supply. For those of you considering entering the Speckle Park breed, the longer you wait the tougher it will be; so avoid being a member of the “wish I had of” club and step up to the plate. If we at T Bar C may be of any assistance prior to or sale day do not hesitate to call Shane, Ted or myself. The sale will once again be broadcast live on the internet through Cattle in Motion. See you in Regina! Chris
