from the desk at T Bar... Welcome to the 2016 Canadian Western Agribition and the Charolais Show and sale. Our new generation at T Bar C is proud to have the opportunity to assist these breed leaders in marketing their world class product. T Bar C has a long and very successful history with the Charolais breed and Agribition. The sale lineup is packed full of unlimited quality breeding packages.... whether you are searching for donor females, junior prospects to campaign or the “front pasture kind.” The pick, the embryos and the semen opportunities add to the aura of this great event. Old T Bar coined a phrase “Charo-nomics” which truly explains the strength of the breed. Each and every commercial producer who uses Charolais sires will tell you their calves are heavier at weaning, easier to market and in most cases, topping the marketplace each and every year. Demand and economic gain to a producers bottom line is simply....Charo-nomics! Plan to be with us sale day to select and add new generation quality to your program... it will be well worth the trip. If we may be of any assistance, prior to or sale day, do not hesitate to contact any of the T Bar Team or myself... we will be pleased to assist in a professional manner.

What an opportunity to get in on the most talked about bull of the year in the Charolais industry. PCC ROME 437B has been a standout since birth; he has always possessed that smooth, straight lined, deep quartered powerful look! A top contender at all the major shows this fall. Take advantage of this chance to buy semen on an ultra-popular bull with a huge future in the Charolais breed. As many astute cattlemen of different breeds and people from around the world came to see Rome this summer, they could not believe how deep bodied he was, yet still one of the longest spined herdbulls they had seen for a while. They also commented on his powerful rear quarter, as this does not usually come with the very smooth shoulder that Rome possesses. Combine all these factors with a 97 pound birthweight and you come up with a herdbull that will be recognized in the Charolais breed for a long time. When the pick of Sylvan Martens’ herd was put up for public auction a few years ago at Agribition, we thought it would be an incredible way of adding an Elite donor female to the Prairie Cove program, and it certainly turned out that way. MXS Beyonce 44X is a homerun hitter. She had PCC Rome 437B and now has done it again with Miss Prairie Cove 605D, a fabulous Pastor daughter that is selling right alongside PCC ROME 437B at Agribition. MXS Beyonce 44X being an Alcatraz daughter, she has the ability to control birth weight which is a highly sought after trait in all programs. With MXS Beyonce 44X boasting a negative birth weight EPD and a top 10% milk EPD it’s going to be very exciting to watch these wonderful ROME daughters come into production. The first PCC ROME 437B calves have surpassed our expectations. The style, eye appeal and smoothness of his calves are outstanding.

Miss Prairie Cove 605D is a foundation female that a program can be built on whether you’re looking for a front pasture donor female to make an impact, or a female to put a show halter on! MXS Beyonce 44X was the pick of the Sylvan Martins’ entire cow herd. An exquisite female that has no doubt made a huge impact as she is also the mother of the great PCC ROME 437B. An Alcatraz daughter that is phenotypically flawless as well as packing a negative birth weight EPD that opens the doors for endless possibilities with Beyonce’s progeny. Charolette as she is known around the farm was Heifer Calf Champion at the CCYA this MISS summer for our great friend Shay Sissons. pick of the show string heifer calves
When Chris arrived to do his selection for the Agribition sale, we found it difficult to decide which would be the best heifer to put in the sale. Breeders look for different qualities, traits, and blood lines. Here is your opportunity to pick what works best for you. We think the pick of our four show heifers will offer some incredible return on your investment. We are very excited to present this offering at the 2016 Agribition Sale and feel you will have a solid addition to your herd, no matter what your pick.

She’s out of 155X, which is a Rhapsody granddaughter that has done well for our herd. Echo’s dam raised one of the high sellers at the bull sale last year that went to Phillips Farms Charolais of Estevan. Echo’s sire is one of our own herd sires Elder’s Blackjack. Her half brother, Scuba Steve, was selected as Champion Steer at the Southwest Prospect Classic held in conjuction with the Young Ranchman’s All Breeds Livestock show this September. We don’t like to make claims about our cattle; view her picture, analyze her mother and brother or better yet, come see her at the farm before the sale. When we first selected Diamante for the Agribition Sale, she was a young calf with lots of growth and eye appeal, and a superior pedigree. As she has grown, things have only gotten better. Her eye appeal grabs your attention as soon as you enter the pasture. Her growth exemplifies Charolais genetics at their finest. She is long, has tremendous depth, a great hip, and is structurally sound. 612D is a very competitive show female today and is going to be a powerful brood cow in the future. The Landmark females are quickly turning into the best producing females in the herd. Jade
601D
Jade is one classy female. Deep-sided, long bodied, soft made with that extension through her front end that makes her a great candidate for a show heifer. Her pedigree makes her a certainty for becoming a solid, front pasture, money-making brood cow! What can we say about Turton that hasn’t already been said? A sire of champions. Jade has that potential. Her mother 412B has done a wonderful job on this her first calf. We are ultra-excited about the future of this female. Watch for more of her offspring in the coming years. She is tremendous! The grand dam 940W has produced herd bulls and keeper females for us in the past. She came from the Sylvan Martens cow herd where many great ones have been produced. We have a homo polled Turton son going to our bull sale this spring that is sure to be a standout. Jade has the lineage to do it all! Check her out sale day.

The Semen Auction is a fundraiser run by the Canadian Charolais Youth Association (CCYA), where semen from top bulls in the breed is generously donated from various breeders across the country. All funds directly support the youth. The semen donated is auctioned off at one of the fall sales, and all proceeds go towards programs of the National Board. Particularly, leadership scholarships are presented at the conference and show from funds raised through the Semen Auction, recognizing senior members on their contribution to the Charolais breed and their leadership among other Charolais youth members. The CCYA National Board would like to thank everyone who has donated and supported in the past for making our programs and scholarship opportunities possible for our youth.
