DELIVERY: We will assist in making transportation arrangements outside MB and SK. All costs are the responsibility of the buyer. You may be asked to take your bull early if the truck is in your area. Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold.

Welcome to our 20th Annual Bull Sale. It is great to look back and see where this sale has come from to now be one of the most diverse bull sales around, by breed, quality and quantity. We have been in the Simmental business since the mid 70’s and are soon approaching out 50th year in the breed. We greatly appreciate the loyalty and support we have received over the years and look forward to meeting everyone at the sale on March 24th.
This year’s group of bulls is the most diverse we have ever offered with new AI and walking sires plus our largest selection of ET bulls. If you’re looking for homo polled fleckvieh bulls we have a wide variety to choose from and possibly the most you will find at any sale in the country. We have been building our polled fleckvieh program for over 20 years, long before it was popular. We also have a good selection of red and black bulls, providing the full spectrum available within the breed. All bulls are DNA tested for colour, dilutor and polled or are known by pedigree. This is an investment we make each year offering you more certainty in your breeding program. We moved to a TMR ration for the bulls this year, consisting of barley & alfalfa silage, hay, super oats and a protein pellet. The bulls are on a full herd health program and will be double vaccinated with fusogard to reduce the chances of foot rot.

We start our bulls off with this long yearling Theory son. Energy is a powerful, hairy bull with a huge hip and chalk full of muscle. His dam was born into our fall program and continues to be a top female in that program. She has a perfect udder with great teat size, placement, attachment and milk. Energy’s grand dam, Jane, has given us 4 daughters and they are turning into very good females. These two flush mates are sired by our Theory herdsire who is full brother to the $51,500 Evolution bull we sold a couple years ago to Keet Simmentals. Their dam is our Lexi donor who has put bulls into top commercial and purebred herds the past few years and now resides at Crossroad Farms. These bulls are very similar in type – long bodied, big topped, hairy with great dark color and heavy pigmented. Force and Element also have three full sisters in the replacement pen that we are quite excited about. You will drive many miles to find Homo Polled 100% fleckvieh bulls of this type and kind.

Big Bang is another extra age bull from our fall program. He is smooth polled, smooth made with good length and thickness deep into his quarter. His sire Theory, has worked very well in our program adding muscle, making great females, providing ease of calving and of course leaving all his calves polled and well pigmented. His first sons in our sale last year averaged over $11,000. Big Bang’s dam is a sister to Fairview Philosophy who has been used in over 30 herds across Canada and is known to shorten gestation and reduce birth weight. It is hard to find bulls with this dark liver red color, we think you will like him when you see him in person.

It is very rewarding when your heifers can wean bull calves at nearly 850 lbs. Vito’s dam is a beautiful uddered FGAF Passport daughter who did a bang up job raising this fella. As mentioned, Philosophy has proven himself to be a calving ease bull with performance and Vito will follow in the same footsteps. He has a balanced set of EPDs with good calving ease and has maternal traits in the top 10% (Milk, MCE, MWWT). Temperament is one of the key features of our breeding program. We focus on good-natured cattle that are easy to work with and Vito demonstrates this quality very well.

These are our first sons on offer from our Black Gold Manhattan herdsire. Manhattan is homo polled, full fleck and backed by an excellent Southseven Adonis “Stuey” daughter. Manhattan adds size, length and muscle to his offspring and we are excited to see his daughters in production next year. Philadelphia is a bull you quickly notice in the pen as he is soft made, big topped and has excellent thickness throughout. Stockholm is another homo polled Manhattan son with a modest 87lb birth weight. A maternal brother sold last year to Gra-Tan Ranch and they are having good results calving on heifers. Stockholm’s dam is one of our favorite fleck cows with a fantastic udder, not surprising coming from the Sering cow family. This combination of Manhattan on females from the Sering cow family worked very well. Barcelona has thickness and muscling from front to back, excellent hair with that dark red colour and double goggles. Shortly after we bought Manhattan we received call from Knox Farms in Australia. They were runner up on the bull and ended up buying semen rights for Australia and New Zealand. These Manhattan sons are guaranteed to add thickness and pounds to your next calf crop.

Hollywood has the presence and stature that makes him the star of the pen. Being the first Manhattan calf born at FFF, we were excited as Hollywood had that wide top and thick butt as a calf and has been a standout since day one. His dam is a good uddered cow we bought from Elliott Simmentals a number of years ago. She has given us four bull calves that have sold through the sale and her daughters are very nice females as well. Hollywood is smooth polled, heavy muscled with a big round hip. He is a very powerful polled Fleckvieh bull that is worth the drive.

Chicago is a very complete full fleck bull we have admired since he was born. He is super stout with exceptional length and thickness as well as real stylish with his dark red colour and large goggles. His grand dam, Eloquence, is our top donor who has 20 females in the herd. Chicago combines some of our best genetics and there is lots of potential with his offspring.

Memphis is one of the younger bulls in the group being a February bull yet he fits right in. He is a beefy bull in a moderate package. We are really hard on our cows for their udder quality and Memphis’ dam has another real good udder. This bull will work well on some smaller framed cows to add pounds to your calf crop.

Another good pair of Manhattan sons coming from a powerful, nice uddered, heavy milking daughter from our Sering cow family. Las Vegas was raised on their dam and Cairo was moved to another cow that did a nice job on him. These twin bulls are long-spined with a well-rounded rear quarter and heavy hair coat. We have been very impressed with Manhattan’s consistency of birth weight and calving ease his first two seasons. His average birth weight has been 95 lbs over the two years and the calves come easy and are vigorous at birth. Cairo and Las Vegas are sure to add some growth and pounds to their calves and will make some nice daughters too.

Here is another Jeremiah son out of a good Payroll female. We don’t get many calves marked like Odyssey, but is he ever good. He is thick, deep and loaded with muscle. Often times polled fullblood bulls with one horned parent will have scurs to some extent. Most times they are small loose scurs and hardly noticeable without clipping. These bulls will sire as many polled calves as a smooth polled bull and his daughters will rarely show scurs based on how the genetics work. Besides these bulls, we have a Jeremiah heifer in the replacement pen. Be sure to ask about her when you stop in as we are quite excited about her.

Senator is our only Reputation son for you this year. We’ve used Reputation on cows and heifers and find he moderates birth weight while providing good growth and performance. Lancaster is another one of the big boys with explosive growth ranking 2nd for weaning weight. His dam has produced three bulls in a row with brothers working at Little Willow Creek and M&J Farms. On one of our pasture tours last summer, a visitor commented that Lancaster’s dam has a perfect udder, and we would agree. Whether you are retaining females or selling calves by the pound, Lancaster is a good herd bull choice.

Strike is another Fleck hybrid bull coming from a powerful horned fleckvieh cow. Warrior is the heaviest muscled herd bull we’ve owned and his sons possess that same powerful dimension and shape. Strike was a twin with his brother moved over to a 1st calf heifer and as a result didn’t make the cut. Fortress is a bull easily noticed for his dark red color, soft make, deep quarter and stylish blaze face. If you were at the sale last year you will recall his baldie brother who made the short list for many people. His dam came from Northern Lights Simmentals and she is turning out to be a productive female with a good udder. Here is a bull that will sire some tremendous females and his sons will have plenty of growth.

Buzzer’s dam raised a high selling Epic son going to Flying H Land & Livestock last year. We were able to use him on a few heifers and the calves look very promising. His dam is part of our Erica (E) cow family which is the most prolific family in our purebred program. These E females have great udders and always raise top progeny. Buzzer will have a serious impact on his new herd, no guess work here.

Pirate is another Man O War son with great depth to his middle and a wide top. He was a twin to heifer and his momma decided she liked his sister better. We moved him to another cow, but that cow decided to wean him in the middle of summer so he’s not the largest bull in the pen. He is however put together well, has that sharp looking blaze face and would work well on a herd of black cows to add some chrome.

Siege is another thick-made, wide topped Warrior son who is the only bull in the sale with a “show” life. Him and is mom were Carter’s 4-H cow-calf pair project last year, so he will be quiet and easy to handle. A maternal brother sold to Tanner Walter in last year’s sale. Siege’s granddam, Tracy, is our first donor on the purebred side of our program. Watch for her Black baldie Sysco sons in the sale next year, they already stand out. Jupiter is our only black Eclipse son in the sale and we are sure you will like him. He doesn’t carry as much size as other bulls but he is chalk full of muscle on his moderate frame. His Redstream dam is built like he is, stout and full of capacity. Jupiter’s calves will come easy and have lots of grow to them.
Terms:
The terms of the sale are cash or cheque, payable at par at the sale location. The right of property shall not pass until after settlement has been made; no invoicing on buyers in attendance, unless previous arrangements have been made. Every animal sells to the highest bidder and in cases of disputes, the auctioneer’s decision will be final. Current exchange rates will be announced sale day. All monies are in Canadian funds.
Bidding:
Each animal will sell to the highest bidder. In the case of a dispute, bidding will be reopened between the parties involved in the dispute. If no further bidding is made, the buyer will be the person from whom the auctioneer accepted the last bid. The auctioneer’s decision on all disputes will be final.
Announcements:
All announcements made from the auction block will take precedence over the printed matter in the catalogue. Buyers are therefore cautioned to pay close attention to such disclosures.
Breeder’s Guarantee:
Should any bull fourteen (14) months of age or over fail to prove a breeder after being used on females known to be breeders, the matter shall be reported in writing to the seller within six (6) months following the date of purchase or six (6) months after the bull has reached fourteen (14) months of age. The seller will have the right and privilege of six (6) months to prove the bull a breeder. No guarantee is given that semen collected from the bull will freeze.
Exception Guarantee:
In cases where the animal is subjected to any hormonal or surgical reproduction techniques after the sale, this guarantee shall be null and void.
Certificate of Registration:
Each animal will carry papers issued by the Canadian Charolais, Angus, Simmental, and Gelbvieh Associations.
A certificate of registry duly transferred will be furnished to the buyer for each animal after payment has been made.
Pedigree Estimates
Pedigree Estimates (PE) are created on the projected mating of the animal’s sire and dam based on averages of the two, creating estimated values that do not hold the same accuracy of actual EPDs issued from the association and should be used as such.
Health:
All animals in the sale have met all necessary health requirements.
Liabilities:
All persons attend the sale at their own risk. The seller, facility owner and sale manager assume no liability, legal or otherwise, for any accidents that occur.
It is understood that T Bar C Cattle Co. (2013) Ltd. is acting only as a medium between buyer and seller and is not responsible for any failure on the part of either party to live up to his obligations. Neither does T Bar C Cattle Co. (2013) Ltd. assume any financial obligations to collect or enforce collection of any monies between parties and any legal action that may in exceptional cases be taken must be between the buyer and the seller. T Bar C Cattle Co. (2013) Ltd. assumes no responsibility for any credit extended by the seller to the buyer. The buyer must look to the seller for fulfillment of all guarantees and representations made here under.
Rights & Obligations:
The above terms and conditions of the sale shall constitute a contract between the buyer and seller and be equally binding to both. Resale of animals following purchase in this sale shall constitute a separate transaction and the rights and obligations of the two parties connected thereto are not covered by the terms and conditions of this sale.
Phone, Mail, Wire Bids:
Bidders unable to attend the sale may phone, wire or mail their bids and instructions to the sale managers, auctioneer or special representatives. Bids must be received in sufficient time prior to the sale.
Delivery:
We will assist in making transportation arrangements outside MB and SK. All costs are the responsibility of the buyer. You may be asked to take your bull early if the truck is in your area. Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold.
Insurance:
Will be available sale day. We strongly recommend that insurance is purchased for full value.
Errors:
All announcements at sale time, written or oral, supersede any written material in the catalogue.
