It is our pleasure to welcome you back to our Platinum Picks Charolais Female Sale. Once again, we welcome you to join us in Colborne, ON at the DanG Sale Facility for our annual female sale. Every year we try to make improvements to our sale lineup. As a group, we can honestly say that the homework is done on these cattle. Our breeders have selected only the best of the heifer pens in both the bred and open females to offer as part of this years sale.
In terms of the type of cattle available; there is a little bit for everyone. We have many sale highlights that will be performance type cattle with a focus on pounds per day and milk production. We also have a great group of show prospect heifer calves and bred heifers that already have Champion titles awarded to them.
We have built a reputation of standing behind our product and we appreciate the repeat buyers from our previous sales. We are as excited as you are to see how these cattle go on to be successful for their new owners.
You will see many animals are listed as being tested for homozygous polled, PA and 100K. These genetic tests are just one of the many ways we can improve the genetic base of our breed and offer the best animals that we can as breeders.
As you peruse the pedigrees in the sale you will see many lots bred to or sired by fresh new bulls as well as time tested reliable sires. As a group, we are dedicated to producing and offering deep broody, attractive females with eye appeal and performance. Most of the bred heifer offerings are carrying early services with a few of the lots tailored to the spring calving market.
As always, our consignors and sale staff are happy to answer any questions related to the sale cattle. If you cannot join us in person, please utilize our good partners at DLMS to view our sale online.
INSURANCE Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser at the time of the sale. Animals remaining at the sale facility or the seller’s farm must be insured.
US EXCHANGE The USD will be accepted at the rate of exchange on sale day, which will be announced prior to the sale.
EXPORT INFORMATION Testing requirements for export to US will be handled by the respective consignor. All costs associated with exporting will be that of the buyer.
DELIVERY Consignors will assist with arranging delivery as quickly as possible after the sale. Knill Transport will be available on or shortly after sale day for any long distance trucking needs.

When Eric came down to “the County” to take a tour and do some sale selection, he chose this fancy Redemption daughter. If I didn’t have a full sister calving this January, I would not have parted with her. Luxury’s Turton dam continues to crank out good ones every year. This heifer calf is part of our show string and would make a great show heifer for a Junior next year.

Out of the same sire as our yearling heifer. Also has the same temperament, just a sweetheart to work with. She would make an excellent junior project for next year, or just take her home and throw a halter on down the road. She is calm as a kitten! The Galveston calves have all been born on the smaller side but at weaning time they seem to have caught up. That says a lot about this bull, we love the built-in calving ease.

This calf’s mother came from this very sale a few years ago from Packer Charolais, and stamped a nice calf out here. We only have a few of the Duramax calves around due only to our extensive AI use, but it looks like we should have used the bull a bit more. Duramax was shown last year at the Royal Winter Fair after we decided while he was on pasture that he looked pretty good. So we halter-broke him as a 2 year old. People said it is rarely done, but calm genetics are a must around here, and Madonna is exactly the same. Tied her once and washed her that first time. Dead broke, has the look and maybe like her name, she will be ready for the lime light.
