Welcome to our 9th annual Steppler Farms female sale! We look forward to hosting you at our farm on December 18. On offer this year are the females from our red factor program. It comes with great consideration to offer all our red factor females in this sale. Even though the numbers are small, it consists of some of the most exciting red females to offer all fall. Since the majority of the 2024 heifer calves went north to a community pasture, they will be selling in our 2025 bull sale February 12th. We are proud of our Charolais female offering, selected from the top end of our herd. We take great pride in representing the Charolais breed as the only single ironed, annual female sale in Canada and want to offer a set of females that will go out and work for the industry. If you are just entering the Charolais breed or needing to add in a different cow family builder, you will find what you are looking for in the sale offering.
Andre and I along with our 3 children take pride in owning and operating Steppler Farms where we make our living raising 500 Charolais, Angus and Simmental cows. We are raising the next generation of beef producers who continually push us to keep moving forward in this industry.
We are surrounded by a great team of people who we work with throughout the year, from our sales management, corn silage crew, vets, nutritionists to family who help with our crops and neighbors who are always willing to lend a hand. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank our one and only herdsman Austin Richard. Austin has become a vital member of our farm and family, and we continually appreciate his hard work ethic and positive attitude. We are fortunate to have this wonderful young man work alongside us every day. We dedicate this female sale edition to the memory of our dear Mom, Mother-in-law, and Grandma who we lost in September after a courageous battle with cancer. Life around the farm isn’t the same without her. We miss her tremendous support, her hard work and her listening ear. We love and miss you everyday Grandma Pat and we will continue to build on her legacy.
With sincere thanks to everyone who has supported our program in the past and future.
Andre, Katie, Brynn, Brayden and Declan
FROM THE DESK AT T BAR C...
9TH ANNUAL FEMALE SALE
DECEMBER 18, 2024 | 1:00 PM AT THE FARM, MIAMI, MB
Steppler Farms will assist with delivery to central points in Canada to a maximum of 200 km at a cost of $75 per animal. Delivery is at the seller’s convenience, but will be as soon as practical. Extra costs are to the account of the purchaser. All risk is assumed by the buyer.
We understand not everyone calves in January, and we are willing to calve your purchase for you. Inquire for more details.
Export tests and paperwork will be done by Steppler Farms, but all costs will be the buyer’s. Steppler Farms will deliver the purchases to the U.S. border upon completion of documentation.
Those that are involved in the seedstock business are quite familiar with the fact that the landscape within it is constantly changing, evolving, and does so at a rapid pace within that change and evolution. The Steppler family has grown their operation to become both one of the largest operations in the nation in terms of numbers, and one of the most reliable in terms of superior quality and customer service. All of us at T Bar C are proud to welcome you to the 2024 edition of the Steppler Farms Female Sale.
The SF cows that call Miami home are vast in their numbers, and what is truly impressive is the high degree of uniformity in type and kind. The 40 lots on offer are in the upper echelon of maternal traits, fertility, performance, and represent the diligent work that the program has done in developing the Red Factor division. The red factor dispersal proves that the goal of raising red females that are moderate in their frame with solid pigmentation was ‘mission accomplished.’ This will come with very little shock to anyone that knows this young family, as their passion and studiousness in breeding and raising cattle is evident upon meeting them.
The Steppler’s have found great success in business, the beef industry, but most importantly in family life and community values. If you are to visit the Steppler stall at any cattle function they attend, you will see Brynn not only being a great hand, but spearheading what is needing to be accomplished next, with young Brayden and Declan sharing in this enthusiasm. Their dedication to the livestock industry and the focus they have on family and customers is what makes them true breed leaders.
The opportunity is presenting itself to tie into a program that is backed by both longstanding and prominent members of the Charolais fraternity, we at T Bar C would strongly encourage your evaluation of a truly outstanding genetic offering. Whether you are in the show heifer market, looking for the next donor, or a key to advance your red factor program, we are confident you will find it within these pages. We at T Bar C are very familiar with both the offering and the exceptional program that backs it, and would be happy to assist you with your selections and purchases in a confidential and progressional manner.

Miss 97M is a herd builder in the making. This heavy haired, deep, loose hided heifer is the type we look for in our herdsires’ dams. Her elite structure and correct foot is also a testament of the fundamentals we demand in our breeding pieces. Now let’s not forget she’s also a competitive show heifer, winning the Reserve Junior Heifer Calf Champion at the 2024 MB-AG show this earlier this fall.

The youngest female in the sale and she could very easily be the best buy of the day. Her dam is part of our donor program and 458L is a complete dictation of why. These are the type of females we strive to raise here at Steppler Farms. Check out her maternal sister selling as Lot 2. Bred early to calve first part of January!

Production and efficiencies are very important on our farm. We have a short, intensive breeding program. All females are AI bred for efficiencies and calculated matings. We try to get 95% of the cows exposed in the first cycle with a 70- 75% conception rate. Correct, accurate nutrition, high quality semen, and time invested in heat detection and inseminating are the keys to achieving this target. Once the cows go through the 28 day AI program, the herd bulls go to work. Since most of the cows have conceived already, the herd bulls are ultimately clean up bulls. The mature bulls easily travel throughout the last 32 days of the breeding program. All females are pregnancy checked early in the summer and culls and opens are taken out.
We maintain a high and rigorous herd health regime as outlined below. This enables us to have a successful breeding program and ensures potential buyer the high health standards of these sale cattle.
Birth – Inforce 3, Selenium/Vit A, Toltrazuril
3 weeks of age – Pyramind 4
Early processing (pasture time) – Covexin 8, Ivermectin
Weaning – Express 5/Somnugen, Covexin 8, Ivermectin
Pre-Breeding – Express FP 10
Pre-Calving – Scour Bos 9, Covexin 8, Ivermectin, Bred Heifers
Scour Bos 9 and boosted with Scour Bos 4
All vitamins and minerals fed through a TMR
Prebreeding – Express 10 FP, Covexin 8
Off season – Ivomectin
All vitamins and minerals fed through a TMR
