GILCHRIST FARMS & GUESTS IN IT TO WIN IT 13TH ANNUAL PRODUCTION SALE
Welcome to the 13th Annual GF & Friends In It To Win It
When the fall colours start to appear it signals a change in the season and it also signals the time of year for an event that we look forward to all year long. As the days get shorter we see the calves growth rates explode, the bred heifers maturing into production females and the cows filling out with next years crop inside. This sale brings a group of customers together into what shapes up to be great friendships and many of whom we would consider family. Breeders with integrity, quality and a passion for the Angus breed. Breeders who we are so appreciative of to work with for the 13 years we have hosted the IN IT TO WIN IT sale. This sale give us the opportunity to work with these great breeders and an opportunity for all of us to showcase what we have produced
This years cattle stay true to the original concept of providing high quality cattle from great people. These cattle have worked well for both us as well as all of the other consignors and we look forward to watching them perform for the new owners for many years to come. We would like to welcome everyone involved in this great breed and anyone who thinks they want to be involved in Angus cattle to join us on Oct 12th at the farm for another opportunity to spend time with a great group of friends and family all passionate about the Angus breed.

For 13 years now, Thanksgiving weekend has shared it’s tradition with the annual In It To Win It Sale. I still remember standing with Brad and his father Grant, where we made the initial plans for this event, and trying to decide where to set up the sale right in the old green shed. It’s pretty amazing to look back at that green shed now as we stand in the beautiful new sale arena and barn where that building once stood. Brad, Kristie, and Peyton continue to raise superior Angus cattle, with as much knowledge in the full scope of the cattle sector as any. While in the area, I urge you to drive just a little further North of Kincardine and visit the Beef Way, where you will see the product of all of the Gilchrist family’s hard work on full display in their amazing abattoir and store front.
The cow herd base at Gilchrist Farms is always a pleasure to witness on grass each summer, with many of the donor females that make up the heart of the program headlining this event. One key factor to research throughout the offering are the services to the $185,000 Hi-Country bull. GF got in on the ground floor in regards to the bull, and it is cause for much excitement when we consider the resulting progeny in years to come. The mainstay consignors in this sale have once again dug deep into their keeper pens to achieve the same goals as the GF program. We say it every year, it’s always a fun atmosphere with excellent cattle Thanksgiving weekend just North of Lucknow. Please make plans to be in attendance, and do not hesitate to contact any of us at T Bar C with any inquiries or questions.
Thank you,
Ben Wright

1 BRAEMAR DONNA 5L
Future Donor, Front Pasture Kind, AND a 2-for-1, as you’re investing in both Donna 5L and her female pregnancy to the very popular Connealy Craftsman!
8 EPDs in the top 10% of the breed and this stylish pregnant yearling will stop you in your tracks!
Donna 5L has exuded performance since day 1 and is a great example of what production data combined with a balanced phenotype can achieve.
Donna 5L is square-cut, deep middled, good footed, and docile, all while possessing that famous head structure that only the Donna’s have!
We always thought our line of the Donna’s was special, and this was confirmed with the Coleman Angus Fall Herd Dispersal.
• Donna 5L’s dam is a direct daughter of Donna 4203.
• 10 daughters from 4203 sold in the dispersal for an average of $40,550 USD.
• A full sister to 4203 sold for a valuation of $750,000 USD! We’re excited to see what she will do for her new owners and to watch her flourish as a productive female as she passes on her production data and style to future generations!

AI bred to Boyd
Justification on March 28. Exposed to Tambri Lucky 1L from May 8 to June 15. Preg checked safe to AI. This is the first purebred animal offered for sale by our daughter Kelsey Ribey. She has a small herd of purebred Angus and is carrying on her grandfather’s prefix. This bred heifer is sired by the Genex sire DB Iconic, the well-known son of Musgrave Stunner. Her dam Tambri Countess 28G is a broody cow sired by a son of SAV Resource. Countess 16L is a correct made, clean fronted bred heifer. She is bred for an early January calf sired by Boyd Justification. He is a son of KG Justified and the famous Abigail family. He adds stoutness and capacity so this should be a great mating.

3 TAMBRI BLACKBIRD 4M
Blackbird 4M is a hard one to part with. She is the first heifer born on the farm off the great Bar E L Natural Law. He is known for producing heifers with ideal phenotype. They have bone and muscle mass and length of body and they just keep improving with age. Her dam Blackbird 20C, sired by Connealy Consensus, is a thick deep bodied quiet cow. Tambri Blackbird 2P is 4M’s granddam and she was an amazing cow. She produced over 16 natural progeny in her lifetime! Tambri Blackbird 4M’s pedigree is stocked with some the breed’s best animals, make sure to give her a second look!

4 TAMBRI EVENING TINGE 2M
5 TAMBRI BLACKCAP MAY 6M
MOHNEN
Evening Tinge 2M is a very stylish heifer and has been noticed by all visitors to the farm. She is cool fronted with loads of capacity and clean lines. Her sire Shiefelbein Effective 61 is known for making ideal replacement heifers with sound feet, great udders and good fertility. We purchased her dam Evening Tinge 315H from Gilchrist Farms as a bred heifer. 315H is a moderate framed hardworking cow sired by Connealy Final Product. This quiet halter broke heifer should develop into a great front pasture cow. CONSIGNED BY TAMBRI FARMS.
Don’t miss this powerhouse! 6M is bold bodied, full of muscle and still looks feminine. Her sire Sitz Stellar 726D is a calving ease sire but with exceptional performance, sound feet and in the top 3% for marbling. I purchased her dam from Iris Creek last year as a bred heifer. ICF Blackcap May is a hard-working good milking young cow.

AI bred to Brooking National 0144 on May 9. Pasture exposed to HF High Range 227L from May 12 to June 6. Preg checked safe to AI service. This beautiful 2 year old is a work horse. She has weaned out the heaviest WDA calf in the herd, 2 year olds and cows included! Her pedigree and EPDs would have predicted this, the Showman daughters work hard and look good doing it. Add to this a picture perfect udder, this 2 year old is a brood cow in the making. A service to Brooking National will make for an exciting calf next season as the National x Showman combination has given us some of our top calves this year.

If you love cattle with a perfect profile, 126L will be your kind of female. We bought her dam, 804F, from Worth-mor because we owned a full sister that we loved so much. As a Density granddaughter, 126L shows all the feminine traits you would expect: clean fronted, smooth shouldered, square hipped, beautiful udder. The Colossal Attractive mating has resulted in some excellent cattle that we really appreciate and the baby inside should be no exception. Reserving the show rights until after RAWF. CONSIGNED BY DEACAN RIDGE FARMS
Stemming from the 54B female we bought from Paradise Farms, 119L is the first Heroine we have sold. The Heroine’s are easy keeping, big ribbed cows that provide lots of growth to their calves: that’s the kind of cattle we like. This Colossal heifer is no different: feminine through her front third, deep ribbed and wide made through her hooks and pins. She ranks in the top 7% for both REA and marbling, 10% for claw, angle, and DMI, and top 25% for WW and docility. CONSIGNED BY DEACAN RIDGE FARMS INC.
36K is a long made, sound footed daughter of Rainfall coming from the Lady cow family. Ranking in the top 1% for milk and top 25% for five other traits, 36K has the foundation to go on and make an exceptional female. She is laying down a well-structured udder just like her grandmother, Werner Lady 3003.

Here is an appealing no holes heifer loaded with style that took us convincing to part with. WF Upward Charity 425M has a real feminine look about her with her soft make, level top, clean front, deep middle, and angularity. All of which is supported by a sound foot and structure. Her dam is equally impressive both visually and performance-wise as she produced a knock-out of a bull last year as a first calf heifer. These females have been maternal powerhouses in our herd that truly perform. This calf gets better by the day and we expect her to blossom into a tremendous cow just like her dam and grand-dam.
CONSIGNED BY WINDCROFT
Whoa!! Pump the breaks and study this one closely. WF Anne 4600M is a real stand out in all the right ways with a stacked pedigree that screams performance. She is easy fleshing, straight topped, deep ribbed, long bodied and sound with a naturally high head carriage while on the move. These cows work hard and hit the mark for us every time. In 2021, her grand-dam provided us with 19 viable embryos first shot, then proceeded to catch to AI in her next natural heat. Talk about fertility! We are already seeing this kind of maternal performance in this heifer’s dam and have no doubt 4600M will be just as productive. CONSIGNED BY WINDCROFT FARMS

LENA 624C Grandam
WF Mayflower 315L is a female that we really admire for a lot of reasons. Combining SAV Checkmate and the proven Mayflower cow line, this heifer has length of spine, muscle mass, excellent hoof quality and a nice feminine head. Unfortunately, she ripped her tag out early on, however that doesn’t take away from her. She is one that is put together into a really appealing sound and smooth package. These Mayflower’s always produce quality calves for us year after year, and 315L should be no exception to this rule. CONSIGNED BY WINDCROFT FARMS
WF Lena 3624L is one that boasts an abundance of cow potential with proven performance overflowing on both sides of her pedigree. Phenotypically, this Attractive daughter is long in her make, level hipped and attractive in her design. Her dam has consistently produced some of our top bulls each passing year, and her granddam also raised many high selling sons in Gilchrist Farms’ previous sales. 3624L is the first female her dam has raised for us and we have no doubt she will raise some top ones! CONSIGNED
Bess 405M has been an easy one to find since day one. She is ultra feminine, and very correct. She has an outcross pedigree and a long line of productive females with great udders behind her. Whether you need one to show or a front pasture replacement heifer we are sure she will go on to be a great cow in the future. CONSIGNED BY SCOMAC LIVESTOCK.
We haven’t let many Lady Ann females go in the past because they are such great cows for us. Broody, easy-fleshing females who raise top-end calves every year, and look good while doing it. The dam of 411M is a no miss female by OCC Legacy with a gorgeous udder. She raised our top selling bull last year and we plan to flush her after she calves in January. Her mating to Profound has produced this big ribbed, stout, broody type female with added angus character.
Classy Lady 1L is sired by the notable Stevenson Turning Point and has been a standout in our herd since day one. A heifer like this is very hard to part with as she has been noticed both in the show ring and in our pasture by many. She is a deep and powerful female that comes out of the GF Lady 146H cow we bought in the 2021 In It To Win It sale that continues to be one of our front pasture cows in our herd. Classy Lady 1L is sure to make a great cow and produce the good ones in the future to build your herd around. Be sure not to miss checking this one out.
