In January, the International Board had its International Board Meeting in Detroit. The official minutes have been posted on the Key Club website. Read the minutes to see what we discussed!
•
I cannot wait to attend district convention in April! I have heard wonderful stories from past KCI board members, T-O District board members, and Governor Katie. I am looking forward to coming down to Dallas all the way from Philadelphia to be with the mighty T-O District!
•
At DCON, I will be selling Eliminate Project pens as a fundraiser for the international board. The pens have a stylus and a flashlight. The pens cost $2, which saves a life! See me at DCON if you are interested!

Secretary Samuel’s “Keys” to Success Hey Board! I am super excited for spring break! As I am sure you are as well. We are almost done with our terms, so remember to work hard and finish strong! Remember to send out resources to your clubs and encourage them to report as well. I am super excited that we reached our goal of 100 reports, but now let’s take it up to 50% reporting which is (140-150). I know we can do it! Encourage clubs to work hard to finish the year. It is easy to lag towards the end, but it is super important that we strive to serve others and finish strong. It has been such a productive and fantastic year! I can’t wait to see you all at DCON! If you have any questions or need anything please contact me. Have a great spring break! Yours in service,
Samuel Kinnin

Encourage clubs to report Send out resources Look at report feedbacks Distribute resources to your clubs Ask me if you have any questions Make sure clubs do the COCI if they haven’t!
Other Information
Remember to distribute the Task of the Month for the month of February!
Feedbacks: Remember to check your emails to look for the feedbacks I sent about which clubs in your divisions reported. It is a great way to see how active your secretaries are and see if they have any problems within their reports.
Annual Achievement Report: This is super important! Please distribute this to your clubs and encourage them to fill this out. The Annual Achievement Report is a report that goes over the service done all year long for Key Club International. The clubs that fill this out will have the opportunity to win various awards and honors at ICON. I sent it to all the clubs that reported and will post it on the Facebook page later this month, but please make sure to email this to your clubs! It can be found on the Key Club website or I can send you the document.
Secretary Update: Remember to distribute this to the presidents, advisors, and secretaries in your areas. Link: https://www.youtube.com/watc h?v=obq-OURQ8D4
The following are the Top 5 Projects from the January Reports, please congratulate these clubs on their projects and remember to distribute this to your clubs: Super Bowl of Caring: Mayde Creek Key Club helped with Super bowl of Caring which is nationwide movement of young people working to fight hunger and poverty around the time of the super bowl football game. In the weeks leading up to Super bowl game, volunteers sign up to support and encourage shoppers to purchase a prepared bag of groceries, make cash gift at check out or donate money. Usually our local H-E-B & Kroger stores provide opportunity for our community to volunteer or donate money/bags of food. They give 100% of their donation directly to the local hunger relief charity. By: Sarah Ishtiaq Allen Family Outreach: Allen Key Club helped with The Allen Community Outreach store, it is a great opportunity because the store is a very big part of the Allen community, which helps many families in need. In the same building as the ACO store, there is a door that leads to what is known as the Share N. Care closet. Supplies there included a variety of needs that families in need would need urgently, supplies included: trash bags, diapers, cleaning supplies, toilet paper, home supplies, bathing supplied, etc. There was a large variety of different supplies that were all stacked in different places according to the item. Key Clubbers helped organize supplies and made sure everything was in stock. By: Meri Attaalla Teens for Jeans: Members of McKinney Boyd High School Key Club participated in the annual Teens for Jeans campaign by Dosomething.org and Aeropostale. To participate in Teens for Jeans, schools around the nation are tasked with collecting the most old/gently used jeans to donate to charity. So far, Boyd Key Club members raised over 400 pairs of jeans by asking around in the community, getting the whole school involved and collaborating with other school clubs like Student Council. The donation bins are always full by the end of the school day due to the dedication and commitment coming from all the members throughout this campaign. By: Maya Eldin Hopper Saturday Keys: Cypress Springs Key Club has been helping with Hopper Saturday Keys which is a time when junior high school students have an opportunity to study, earn extra credit, and learn with the help of a teacher. As high school students, we know that those younger than us look up to us as role models. As part of Key Club, we serve that purpose by going to Hopper Saturday Keys and assisting them with their schoolwork or concepts they do not understand yet. By: Sarah Nguyen Infant Crisis Center: Members of Putnam City Key Club went to volunteer at the Infant Crisis Center in January. The members packed baby wipes, tore down and recycled old cardboard boxes, unloaded supplies, labeled and sorted bottles of baby formula, and wiped down the kids playroom.
Hey T-O! We now have over 17,000 members!!! Good job everyone! Keep up the good work, only one thousand more Key Clubbers until we reach our goal! You will all be receiving an email with the excel spreadsheet soon, so that you can try and convince any unpaid clubs to pay before your term ends. Let me know if you need anything and enjoy the end of your term! Yours in service, Colin Gonzalez Texas Oklahoma District Treasurer Key Club International Email: treasurer@tokeyclub.com

Hey-o Family! For those of you in Texas, wasn’t much of a winter was it? Well at least nicer weather is coming in! And with awfully pleasant weather, what’s better than embarking on a service event outside? There are countless of volunteer opportunities in which you may take advantage of the good weather for these few weeks. Better go outside before the unbearable Texas heat sets in! DCON is approaching, please continue to promote this District Event within newsletters, social media, e-mails, etc. in order to ensure the success of our DCON. Stay Awesome,
