TRUSTEE UPDATE FROM IAN MACDONALD

I hope everyone that is back in school is prepared and excited for the year ahead. As we begin this new year of service I urge you and your club to begin recruiting for members immediately and strive to have your dues in by November 1st to earn the Early Bird Patch. The Membership Update Center (MUC) is now open so feel free to start updating your membership roster. In terms of international memberships, Saudi Arabia has is now the 36th nation in Key Club International! As October approaches don't forget to apply to the Youth Opportunities Fund (YOF). YOF is grant for your club's service project ranging from $100-$2000. The possibilities of projects are endless but the deadline is October 15th. Apply online at www.keyclub.org/yof.

Additionally this fall means Trick or Treat for UNICEF is back; don't forget to order your boxes to use on Halloween. This simple but great fundraiser for The Eliminate Project can save the lives of millions.

GOVERNOR’S UPDATE

FROM RACHEL ISELIN

Hey T-O District! We are almost halfway through the Key Club year. Isn’t that incredible? Right now, there are three things that you guys really need to focus on right now: 1. Fall Rally - We need your attendance loud and proud to kickstart he school year off right! Fall Rally is a day where our District comes together to bond over exciting games, activities and rigorous roller coasters! For more information, go to the District Website!

2. Dues Payment - The MUC is now open so check out the District Treasurers message and get your District and International dues paid!

!

3. Trick-or-Treat for Unicef - Key Club International has voted to direct the Trick-or-Treat for Unicef money to the Eliminate Project for the next 5 years. If your club has done TOT for Unicef in the past, you should automatically receive a package of TOT for Unicef boxes. If this is your first time, or you’d like to purchase more boxes you can purchases them online at the Key Club store!

Unfortunately, our District Secretary, Crystal Loh has decided to resign. If you are interested in applying for the position an application should become available on the District Website within two weeks.

You’ve survived the start of a new school year! I hope school has been treating you well so far and that you’ve started out a new Key Club school year with a BANG. Club Budget: In the beginning of each school year, all clubs should create a club budget. This is the duty of your club’s treasurer! Membership Recruitment Package: Our Membership and General Public Relations committees have worked diligently to produce a Membership Recruitment Package for all clubs to utilize. I hope you all are as excited as I am for Fall Rally and October! When October hits we will be halfway done with our Key Club term! Isn’t that crazy? If you guys didn’t already know, the next Tex-O-Key will be released October 10th! The theme that will be current throughout this Tex-O-Key will be “Halloween”! So please, send any riddles, jokes or fun facts you may possibly have relating to the theme to editor@tokeyclub.com! Also, I have noticed a lot of people have been sending in their newsletters and articles in the same email. Please be sure to read the 2015 - 2016 Newsletter and Article guidelines to see how to turn stuff in and not lose points!

FROM MEGAN REYNOSA Hey There Magnificent T-O District!

Who’s ready for Fall Rally? It’s only fifteen days and I can’t wait to meet all of you! Fall Rally is essentially a rally that brings together the Texas-Oklahoma District where the K-Family can converse with other members, learn more about Key Club on the District and International level, as well as hearing the DCON 2016 theme. As if it couldn’t get better… Fall Rally is held at Six Flags over Texas in Arlington where all of the District can ride roller coasters, experience Fright By Night, and make new friends! Staff has been working extremely hard to ensure that this will be the best Fall Rally ever and I can’t for you all to hear the theme for DCON 2016. I hope to see you all there!
