! GOVERNOR UPDATE FROM RACHEL ISELIN Hey T-O!
!
We are officially 1/4th the way through our Key Club year and each day we grow closer and closer to the beginning of school. On July 10th, the District Staff met up and set goals for the upcoming year including: 18,500 paid members by DCON and 1,250 attendance at DCON. Crystal, Emily, Matthew, Megan and I spent a lot of time talking about what we wanted to do to enhance the Key Club experience for YOU and how exactly to put all these goals into action. We’ve entrusted a lot of tasks to the Lt. Governors and distributed work among the various committees in order to make the most of the year and get as much done. So, if you want to know what’s going on at the District level, you can always asks your Lt. Governor and get an inside look on how we’re all working to serve you.

! GOVERNOR UPDATE FROM RACHEL ISELIN ICON Recap
!
ICON for me had always been this far away dream due to the enormous amount of money required for our District to attend. For years I’d look through the forms and see all the incredible things Key Clubbers at ICON would get to experience, but I knew I wouldn’t have the money to attend. When I realized that the 2015 International Convention would be joint between Circle K, Key Club, and Kiwanis, I knew that I had to do everything I could to attend and began working to save up as much money as possible. With lots of self-motivation and coffee, I got all my paperwork filled out and all the checks written so that I could hop on the plane to Indy and experience ICON for the first time.
!
Honestly, ICON was ICONIC. I was able to experience our organization like never before. The amount of people who came around all across the world with the same burning passion for service was unbelievable. There were people of all race, ethnicity, language, background, gender and age. Everyone there was united in their desire to change the world and I have never felt more at home than when I was sitting in that room with other passionate Key Clubbers. My favorite part of the convention, by far, was getting to see all the other Governors and bond with them during a three hour forum with Kevin Wanzer. We talked about what it meant to be a leader and share our insecurities as Governors. It was a reminder to me that what I do is for the members of this organization and that I’m never alone.
!
Over all, I had an INCREDIBLE experience. Getting to hang out with the other T-O members was way too much fun and we made lots of memories. I encourage everyone to consider attend ICON 2016 with me next year in Atlanta, Georgia so that together we can create even more memories and celebrate another great year of service.

SECRETARY UPDATE ! FROM CRYSTAL LOH
Hello Texas - Oklahoma District!
!
I cannot believe that we are officially one month into the summer and it bums me out to think about how quickly the summertime is flying by. But, because of this, we should all make the best out of our breaks and go serve our communities as much as we possibly can! I have volunteered at a local church bagging up food for Feed the Kids almost every week so far and I hope you have been regularly volunteering as well! I love to see all of the volunteer work that is being done within our district every time I grade reports. There is nothing that makes my heart happier! While volunteering and serving your communities, I hope you are all enjoying your summers as well by spending time with friends and family!
