TRUSTEE UPDATE FROM BARRY SENG

Greetings Texas-Oklahoma Key Clubbers,

!

Happy summer! I hope you are enjoying your freedom from school. The Key Club International Convention is approaching. The Key Club ICON is being held with joint conventions with Kiwanis, Circle K, and Aktion Club. The entire Kiwanis Family will be celebrating the 100th anniversary of Kiwanis in Indianapolis, the headquarters of Kiwanis. It truly is a once in a lifetime experience. If you cannot attend the convention, you can stay connected on social media through the hashtag #KCIN15, the instagram account @keyclubint, and the Key Club International Youtube channel.

!

At the end of the convention, I will be officially retired from my position as International Trustee. When I was first assigned the Texas-Oklahoma District, I was told that I had won the lottery. I had such a wonderful time making fiends with everyone, helping the district, working with Governor Katie and Governor Rachel, and visiting your home District. Thank you for the wonderful experiences and memories. It has been an honor to serve as your International Trustee.

Secretary’s Update Hello T-O Family!

It’s great to be working with you all and it’s extremely exciting to serve the world and make it a better place! In case you guys didn’t know:I’m going to be a junior at Mansfield HS, I absolutely love to travel and eat food, I’m obsessed with volunteering, and (just like you guys) I love to sleep.

!

Monthly Reporting for Club Secretaries:

Please continue encouraging the secretaries in your division to report! Monthly reporting is extremely important. I have been emailing out feedback on how to improve reports and I’ve been cc’ing you guys in the emails I send! I will try my absolute best to grade all reports and send out all feedback by the 20th of every month.

!

District Roster:

Please be sure to take a look at the roster every time I send it out to make sure none of your contact information has changed. It’s important to keep the roster up to date so we can successfully communicate within the District!

Treasurer’s Update Ayyy Fam!

I’m Emily Zhao, the 2015-2016 TO District Treasurer. Previously, I was the District Editor, but now I have the awesome opportunity to serve you once again, but this time as your District Treasurer. Here are some things you may not know about me: - I am currently a junior attending Cedar Park HS (north of Austin) - I love purple, squirrels, tomatoes, and KEY CLUB. - I play tennis and enjoy squandering time on Youtube.

!

Suspended Clubs:

Please refer to the attached document from my monthly emails of the TO club standing. If you have a suspended club, it is IMPERATIVE that you try your best to get them unsuspended! By ICON, suspended clubs all be considered inactive and face a $100 reactivation fee and also have to pay their previous dues. Remember, to get off the suspension list, a club must pay their current member dues and send them with a roster of their club members from the MUC. Please let me know if you have any questions concerning this process!

!

Feedback:

Are there any changes you would like to see in the position of District Treasurer? Is there something you would like me to do or not to do? Please let me know how I can best help you!

Ayyy-o T-O District Board! I hope summer has been treating you well so far. With ICON just around the corner (and Summer Board to follow) I’m super pumped for what’s to come! As you may know, I emailed you guys a list with all your names on it that fall under certain months. These are the months you have to write articles. GASP! As a Lieutenant Governor you still have to write articles? Sadly for you, yes (but this helps improve the quality of the Tex-O-Key). Just so you don’t forget when you have articles assigned, sign up for my Remind group! Thanks guys! See you soon(ish)!

Goals - promote DCON through different types of social media such as Twitter & Instagram. - encourage LTG’s to teach forums because it was the highlight of my DCON & I want to implement new forums. - create an even bigger DCON with much more activities to bring our District together. - promote ad sales to make DCON more interactive than usual by providing certain items that will enhance the DCON experience for our attendees.

To Do List 1. Ad Sales a. Although DCON is 304 days away, our budget solely depends on on ad sales! Please have $50 worth of ads sold by Summer Board! b. Selling ads is a challenging task and I am here to help! Please submit what time and date is betsy for you on the Ad Sales Phone Call sheet. I want to have a call with each and every one of you before Summer Board to discuss how you’re coming along with ads and to answer questions you may have. 2. Pitching a Theme a. Have you ever thought about pitching your own theme? Here’s how! If you have any themes in mind, get it approved by Rachel no later than Friday, June 26th at 8:00pm. If your theme is approved, your DCON theme presentation is due to Rachel and I, July 6th at 8:00pm. 3. Forum Application a. Forum applications are now available! This application will admit you into the first round, if selected, you will choose your top three forums and which District Board member’s you’d like to work with.
