Bristol based metal band featuring the unrelenting force of ex-Clockwork Sniper members Dean Jordan & Richard White, fused together with the intense and brutal vocals of ex-Blood Of Ash front man Lewis Capaldi and the furious back beats of Richard Hall. This combination of disturbed minds, diverse musical influences and 'heavy know how' have produced a monstrous audio delight which we call MIND FOR MURDER! Mind For Murder was formed in September 2010 after the sudden demise of the popular Bristol thrash metal band Clockwork Sniper. Wanting to carry on with playing music and still holding the desire to be in a kick-ass band, Rich White and Dean Jordan teamed up with Rich Hall. Rich was the clear favorite for a drummer who possessed the necessary skills and shared the same passion and desires as the rest. Rich had also worked with Dean on other projects and also jammed out together in their younger years. His compatibility in the band was a no brain-er and within weeks the foundations of Mind for Murder was formed.

Lewis Capaldi, ex-Blood of ash vocalist applied for the position and was immediately snapped up. His vocal range and skill gave them that extra edge that MFM were looking for. Browner became the rhythm guitarist and sang backing vocals. After several successful gigs, Browner decided to leave the band and MFM carried on regardless. With nothing to hold them back and nothing to lose The music got tighter, the determination got stronger and MFM still thrive as a 4 piece. The dynamic as a four piece has actually made the sound punchier, tight and sound better than ever before and people ponder on how it is possible four a four piece to sound so heavy and big. Always on the up, MFM is fast on the path of audio domination. written by Mind for murder

They also teamed up with former lead singer of iron maiden blaze Bayle to produce an amazing music video. the video is called its a wonderful life features the army in a forest and blaze in army gear really theatrical works really well. recently they have been touring with blaze on his russian holiday tour and have performed in the west country. they have also signed a new deal with yellow dog to help produce the new album coming out in autum this year.
Band to watch this week is a local band from Finland i will leave it up to lead singer to tell you about there act The band started out in 2011 our guitarist Tobias had a vision about a hard rock band with a woman as a lead singer. First he found Joni for the second guitar Tobias's friend knew Sami, our bass player, and Sami knew me, so we both went to try playing with them And it sounded good. We started working on our own songs right from the beginning. At first we didn't have our own rehearsal studio, so the progress was a little slow then the drummer lost interest and left the band a year ago in 2012 so there was a little moment of desperation.
But everything worked out better than expected. We got our own rehearsal studio, and me and sami knew antti, who was (and is) a good friend of ours, and sami had played with him before, so we asked him to join the band And that sounded even better than before, right from the beginning. So Dusty Road was finally "complete" in summer 2012 And since then we have done a lot of work, and our first demo was released in November 2012. Now we have six songs online and three more are coming in a month or so. Right now we play as much gigs as possible, and try to make every show rock more than the ones before. We rehearse a lot and work on new songs at the time. lead singer : suvi runnie

Are band to watch this week is a Metallica tribute band called Metallica reloaded from Bristol . These are really the real deal every song every note is practised and tuned down to the fine detail to produce that classic Metallica show. There are described to be if not just as good as seeing the real deal live.
all the other members also went and did there own projects. In 2010 the band got back together and became a tribute act under the name fixer. they did lots of covers from iron maiden , Alice in chains , guns roses and of course Metallica. The band grew a very metallic sound and from there became a Metallica tribute act working on the early Metallica tunes. Originally the band they then was asked started of doing to do a show with there own music guns 2 roses the guns sealing ep and doing roses tribute act. The there own thing then tribute act like fixer the band slit and so much they gave David the guitarist them here 1st tour started the band from there the band became a huge blood off ash. success.
In the interview they stated that they wanted to say thank you to guns 2 roses for giving them the opportunity that ended up kick starting there band. from there Metallica reloaded was born.
One of there latest successes was the Bristol 02 gig last year. in which they had a sale out show.
these guys are the real deal and of behalf of metal mash magazine I wish them all the success with there band .
if you want to see Metallica play live then check these This year they are on guys out. touring this year. tour agene and will be returning to Bristol on 6th of April in which u can read about there show in the gig review . Another one of there achievements is an endorsement from big company ESP guitars a rank that is not so easily achieved. This is band proves that practise makes perfect and to keep dreaming.
This weeks band to watch is one of a kind band from the west country called terminal moraine. This unique band plays an old school trash grove metal sound which makes the audience walk away thinking wow. The band features Dylan on vocals rhythm guitar , Tom on the bass , Alex on lead guitar and of course the one and only Ben price on drums. the band is influenced by allot of acts such as slayer , Metallica , iron maiden and of course black Sabbath. this band is growing in popularity putting on an amazing show where ever they play. for young band they have quality.
Despite their youth, the lads have been working their way up on the gigging circuit, carving out a reputation as a hot live band with a commanding show having played numerous gigs around the Bristol area, most notably the prestigious Fleece and Louisianna venues. A typical Terminal Moraine show includes a guitarist who seems physically unable to remain in one place for more than a second; playing so fast that you can’t see his fingers. The singer commands the show with a strong, clean voice and a quick wit. The bass player is reminiscent of Rex Brown, not moving around a whole lot but in possession of a commanding presence, fat tone and a solid style, with a drummer who plays with such fury that he looks constantly on the verge of spontaneous combustion! No Metal core posturing or Death core crabs in sight, this, then, is a young band proud to be at odds with the trendy metal of today; hoping to prove that looking to the past for inspiration is always the better move! written bye (terminal moraine) The band are currently working on there 1st ep and will be playing at boom fest this year in June. lets hope in 10 years time they will be playing at download fest in June we can only wish them all the best.
So this week’s band to watch is none other than Ded Orse. The band combines classic and modern rock and metal sounds to produce material that would sit well in anyone’s album collection. The band is set for greatness and is currently looking for new management. Let me hand over to the band themselves to explain more about how they rock.
Impossibly hard to define, describe and difficult to compare them as they drift in and out of genres and absolutely refuse to be pigeon holed. Truly old school where the music takes precedence to being in a particular genre, Ded Orse are heavy make no mistake but not for the sake of it. The quirky use of the blues, funk, metal, psychedelic rock and soul creates a truly genre bridging heavy rock sound. Which means Ded Orse are equally comfortable playing on bills with acoustic duo’s to hardcore death metal. Influences are clear but distorted; early Black Sabbath, Clutch, Soundgarden, Grand Funk Railroad, the Sword, AC\DC, Trouble but it is more often the more obscure music of these bands that Ded Orse most closely resembles. Based in Cheltenham, Broken Jaw first came together in mid-2012. Despite various members of the band having played together previously this new teaming brought with it a sound unlike anything that has gone before it. The band has experienced rapid success, gigging all over the country at many venues, most notably supporting international legends Breed 77. Along their way Broken Jaw have accumulated a vast and ever growing, loyal fan base all from different genres. Nutzie, the exuberant and charismatic vocalist, has been described as “Punk with venom”. Unforgettable screams and melodic singing is the signature style of this animated front man. Lee brings the decidedly metal aspect to this multifaceted band; Lee draws on his thrash roots and combines his distinct heavy sound with harmonious choruses. Miles brings the funk with his bouncy bass lines and intensely addictive slap bass adding a unique dimension to the group. Tommy finishes off the line up with a mix of fun and yet aggressively, hard hitting beats. His masterful drumming compliments all the members’ performances whilst defining what Broken Jaw has come to mean; energetic, unique and attitude filled punk metal. These guys’ love to have fun and are always willing to have a laugh on and off of the stage using their music as a powerful tool to convey what life is really all about…having fun! If you get the chance then you should definitely check them out at a venue near you?
How did the band come to be and where did it all begin? (Tommy Gammon/Drums) Well, Nutzie sent me a message asking if I was still drumming, from that we were back and forth talking about genres and the possible members. (Miles Rushworth/Bass) It all started about two years ago for me when Nutzie asked me if I wanted to start a band with him. After a short hunt to find some other suitable musicians we found Lee and Gammon, who decided to get on board and bring some epic riffs and monster beats to the mix.
(Lee Stockwell/Guitar) Me and Tom have known each other for years, we went to the same school and had been in bands together before. I met Nutzie at a mutual friend’s house party one night but had seen him and heard of him before. We got talking and he said that him and Tom were looking to start a band, and asked if I wanted to play guitar, as Tom had mentioned me in a previous conversation between them. After a few more conversations with him, he said that his cousin Miles played bass and that he was looking at maybe bringing us all together seems as they had been trying to form a band. I already had a few ideas written down guitar-wise, so by the time our first practice ended, we had a complete song minus lyrics which you may now know as “Where I Stand”. Everything just seemed to click into place after that and now we are all here.
(Nutzie Shelley/Vocals) After leaving Create Chaos I was always looking at trying to start a band where the music felt more suited for my vocal style and attitude was a better fit. I asked Miles (who also used to play in Create Chaos and is my cousin as well) if he would like to start up a band and how we would like it to be? After sending a few messages here and there and talking to various people I got passed on Gammons details, who seemed more than happy at the prospect of playing the type of music I had in mind. He then mentioned that he knew of a few guitarists and that he had one in mind that he used to work with. It was left at that and just by sheer coincidence me and Lee ended up meeting at a house party one evening, got talking about the band I had been trying to set up and I suggested he should come jam with us some time as we hadn’t even had a first practice between me Gammon and Miles? He seemed eager and we all went from there really. Although, the first practice wasn’t exactly text book lol.
What has been your greatest achievement as a band? (TG) Supporting Breed77 is probably the biggest thing for me, not long after we were offered our first 2 headlining shows. It's been weird, being the opening band and working our way up so quickly!
Who are your inspirations as artists?
(NS) I draw inspiration from all over the shop and I have soooooooo many influences, which I have because of so many people and things in my life e.g. My (LS) Staying together this long??? Ha ha but in all friends, family and a lot of the 90’s / 00’s seriousness, in my opinion, supporting Breed 77 which was music TV, which is a shame we don’t really the fifth time we had ever played live together. And they have around anymore, as that was amazing gave us a shout out during their set!! how you could flick from one channel with Pearl Jam on and the flick over and (MR) For me aswel The Breed 77 Gig see say System Of A Down, Sex Pistols, Drowning pool, Spineshank, The Clash. (NS) To be honest, I’d say that there have been many Just look at it now??? WTF??? Lol. achievements in such the small amount of time of us being (TG) For me its bands like Motörhead, The together. Be it just making a track from scratch or Who, Mötley Crüe and Led Zeppelin for supporting a well-known band that we look up to. We have drummers. after all only just been all together for our first year (LS)It all boils down to Megadeth and and that to me is a pretty damn big achievement in itself. I Metallica man, For Whom The Bell Tolls guess that I like to look at what’s to come rather than was the song that made me wanna play what has been and I hope, we will continue to progress guitar in the first place, then I heard about the way that we are too big and better things. Megadeth and they just blew me away. In terms of song writing, pretty much everything from Bob Dylan to Bury Tomorrow, which I guess makes us unique What can the fans expect to see from your band at metal as we don't just listen to one genre of mash? music. (MR) I would personally say my inspirations (MR) Loud and Powerful!!!! as an artist would be from bassists that (TG) Huge amounts of energy. Hands down that is our have achieved in giving the music they biggest aspect. The riffs are just chaos. (LS) Well... Me, Nutzie and Miles all have wireless kits so contribute to create an extra dimension of sound. Tweaking their gear to get an epic we are always in and out of the crowds. We also have alot banter between songs with the fans as well as each tone and style (Chris Wolstenholme, Muse - Fieldy, Korn), and plenty of slap for good other, which is something I don't see a lot of bands do. measure (Flea, Red Hot Chili Peppers). Why Not just talking y'know. sit in the background when you can make (NS) They need to expect the unexpected as I never know the most of your instrument and break the how any gig might go to be honest lol. All I know is that generic. we love to play and that’s just what we do.
What's next for the band? (TG) We just finished recording our first EP, now were playing the waiting game for mixing and mastering to be finished and then we can reveal a release date. (MR) Release date will be announced soon so watch this space. (LS) But in the meantime, we'll be playing shows when and wherever we can!! (NS) As the guys said, Ep’s in the progress of being finished off and also lots of great gigs coming up. We hope that we can get around as much as possible really, so keep your ears to the ground and eyes glued to our Facebook page for info? Face book : https://www.facebook.com/BrokenJawUK
