Here is a beginning of a forest. I am starting to walk into the depth of a forest invited by animals. Fog shroud around...and I am emveloped a stifling smell of grass.
Then I met the hut. It was there so as to surround forest trees and to surrounded by trees of forest.
Changement of Determination of Primeval of living
Today
Laugier s Primeval of living
Primitive Way s Primeval of living
Laugier has set time when people began making architecture to primeval of the architecture. It is a basic hut which have only columns and a roof. In contrast, I thank that the act of living existed befer we began maiking aechitecture, and I set primeval of the housing space then.
Laugier s space of atomic Normal housing space
Primiticve way s space of atomic
To release normal housing space and To make voids in columns and beems
Therefore, I tried to make a outside from a space that has be called houseing saoce. It is like housing space that is reversed so far, and to live in this space is like animals settle in trees and ground. By make voids in columns and beems, I created new space and something primitive.

I settle this space. Life exude external and external is taken into life, I will crose with nature. I feel light such as animals live in a tree trunk... Like animals aim for a high space in the sunshine filtering through foliage from between the leaves ...
Like animals eat nut on a tree and relax... And like birds overlooking the distance on the top of a tree... I feel forest unprecedented distance...
The animals make their habitat in one tree in a forest.
This hut also snuggle up to a tree and exist, and man make some space of life in it.
Thus, this hut is standing and tuning with a forest while blend to trees of a forest. Life exude external and external is taken into life. Like to be surrounded by trees and to surround trees. Here, new scenes of life is expanded .
And I left the hut... Is that hut I met there what a thig that I saw the past or what s thing that I will see in the future...?

The grand city Tokyo is a jungle of diverse functions and stimulating attractions. There, people would gather and hold various activities. However, communities are nowhere to be found. The society gives priority to relationships with its superiors and customers, but it is always a stranger who sits next to you in a train. Even if that stranger lives in the same district as you or even in the same apartment we would not notice that relationship. We are all
alone
once we are outside our family or business community. Because the functions in city,
which were supposed to have interactions with each other, are separated, they are not behaving properly. The urban identity itself is lost, the identity which the functions work as a group. energeia! is a community center in such a grand city Tokyo. Program constructed by the development of function layers complicates the denifition of layers and provokes new relationships inbetween. This is the way to city!s healthiness. ŕ ˆ

Change of surface area Comparing with a typical building with the same functions enclosed, the layer structure composed by tube space has 3 times bigger the surface touching the exterior. This encourages stimulation and enthusiasm among functions, and this is very effective for a new community center.

energeia is composed of 3 main elements and each layer is composed of many classes. Individual layer being classified by each different grids, the building configuration becomes clear. In addition, by overlapping each other, the layers create continuity, entanglement, dramatic changement and inclusion of functions. Then, the community center begins to move. This creates the intricacy of functions.
Function Layer Function layer is a part of the functions in energeia, interweaved in mesh. It has very simple configurations but complexly interfers with other tubes.

Access layers are released from x-y axis and cross in the cube freely. We can experience the dramatic changement of functions. Each tube having a large surface area, the effect is enormous.
The access layer penetrating various stimuli
Park Layer Park layer is the tubes which have the most liberal axis among the 3 layers. They are not controlled by the x-y-z axis.
They are
the green lines which enclose all tubes and also the endocrine systems which secrete ethusiasm. There are 3 park layer tubes in the energeia, which sometimes are parks, sometimes flow lines. They are different from the other tubes. So,their ceilings, walls, floors - all the things are oblique. Very high ceilings break peoples! sense of scale,so people are released from the ceiling. When we are relesed from ceiling, we are not in a building. They become roads which connect city! s functions and parks.
With energeia...
There are various stimuli in the city.People come to seek them and hold various activities. City comprises of coalition and adjacent As the city of TOKYO continue to sprawl, and so are the functions in the city.
of functions, and all sorts of relationships are created there.
Functions scattered in pieces do not stimulate each other, and will become individual functions.
Many functions, stimulating each other, activate the city and the people s activities. This is one of the best characteristics of living together . I think it is the city s identity.
If you make a single unit in this city...
No comunnity can be found.
This is not a true city form, and there are only biased communities.

People may have a sense of unity...

Final Layer Finally, the most important layer completes this building... It is the energy filling the void of building, oozing from tubes like the vascular and endocrine system. People! s desires, views, interests and enthusiasm flurry and fill the void. This building is completed by the void filled withfull of energy. And this energy ooze outside the energeia.
