Happy Fixed Happy Fixed is a repair platform for the cyclers who biking around the Taiwan island. We provide them with comfortable,safe, complete equipments and even tutorial ranging from the beginners to the experts.

We provides free but the most comfortable tools and various of supplies in package.
A shelter with roof on top gives cyclers a place to hide from the rainy area..
It is a temporary parking space for cyclers to walk around or to check out the nearby route.

Reserch Problem define and concept development
Book Reference Accidents often happens during the trip. The only transportation,the bike, might break down. If take the bike to downtown for repair might be time-consuming and might interupt the schedule. If choose to repair by himself , then it must be done in severe situation.
From the books,we found out that the route around the island can be seperated into (North/East/South/West) with different levels And the east part are the most rugged, on the contrary, the west part are the flattest. We set our initial goal to the west to start from the beginner and according to the context, a paticular section from Janan plain to Tainan city is the flattest but with the lest supplies (repair stores and food supplies). Nevertheless, it is a section that all cyclers must pass. We then choose it for us to set the first “Happy Fixed� stop

Initially, we know only little about the bike knowledge We went to the student bike clube The leader gave us a lesson about the basic structure of bike And then he practice how to repair the most common problem faced during a road trip:
After made up our mind to focus on the specific section. Me and my partners decided to actually go on a field trip to that area to see the actual surroundings.
-Replace the flat tire -Fix the break/repair break rubber -Change the transmission line -Daily maitainence
This section is mostly plain field but with little supplies Bike lanes are sometimes connects to the car lanes which is sometimes dangerous for the cyclers Although the ground is flat, it is rugged somewhere It is tend to cause a flat tire if the cyclers are driving fast and smoothly without noticing the sudden bump.
Moreover, he gave us some advice about the trip around the island.Such as most people will prepare repairation skill before going on trip like this. 15
Persona A Cycler Trip Around The Island
Motivation “ I’ve recently graduated from college,me and couple of my best friends are planning to do something significant as a memorable ending of student’s life. We want to do so by a trip around the island no matter how hard it will be.”

We will start cycling from the north to the west and go counter-clockwise around the island.And we hope the west plain will be a good start for all of us.
During the trip,we can’t carry many stuff with us. Food supplies will be our top consideration especially water, then the repair store of course it’s better there’s someone that can instruct us to fix it
We’ve learned some basic knowledge from the Internet, also we went to the bike store to buy the supplies that we might need, we did practice once there by the help of the clerk but kinda worry if we can do it all by our own.
-End the trip within 14 days -Don’t ask expert for help but try to solve any difficulties -Spend most of the time cycling and enjoy the beautiful scenaries.

In conclusion, we’ve defined our user as one who knows the basic knowledge of bike and the trip However, he is lack of practical experiences, We believe a tutorial will recall his memories; vending supplies can provide him with the things that he might have forgoten to prepare or things that is hard to carry with.
We set our stop to every 4 km for a distance that he can walk to with carrying his broken bike no more than 30 mins, which saves lots of time comparing to go to repair stores in downtown for help.

According to the research,the most common problem facing during the island trip is the flat tire, and it’s also a rather easy and safe thing for cyclers themselves to fix.
A platform that is easy for cyclers to rest their bike and the correspondeing pic will instruct them to find what might caused the problem
A place for cyclers to park their bike(commonly not with parking column)
We provide a platform including guiding, support stand 17 and a platform to help the cyclers.
The supplies in lists and the free tools was integrated by the statisticsof what most cyclers most needed.
A simple table to put their packages and a nearby route for further Information about a better repair or the unsolvable difficulties.
User Testing Revise the error and ensure the setting
After we decided the functions and interface,We then briefly made a prototype for our target user to test. Including ensuring the platform height is comfortable for them to lift, an easy understanding interface,and also practiced for them as what would the store clerk would normally do.

The Right Seat More and more people become Phubbing nowadays with the wrong sitting posture might cause pain or even injuries A good seat will help you to have a good time enjoying your spare time. It is so comfortable to use my phone elegantly.

Not to mention the fewer communications between poeple in real world, it could cause a severe pain,vetebral problems,etc
3C products are the trend of a future’s lifestyle Rather than trying to stop using them, we need to find a brand new way to adjust it by giving our users a more comfortable ,better environment or aids. Thus, we started observing people around us documenting diffferent postures while they are using their technoligical goods. We found that the smart phone ocuppies a great proportion of Phubbing. we then esecially aim them as our target users for designing.

A Interview with the Physiotherapist In order to design a chair that is comfortable for right posture. We made an appointment with the physiotherapist Down below are the advices that he gave which we can refer to for our prototype. -the full support is needed between the Vertebra and Pelvis, also can;t be too soft -the feet must able to reach the ground for switching the posture. -the length can’t be too long, otherwise it will be hard to reach the back. -the chair’s back can’t lean too much or night cause other forces. -the front arm shouldn’t be upward; avioding Triceps from making exertion

Market Research A visit to furniture store

After summarizing the advices given by the phtsiotheropists, we actually went to stores to find out how a chair is produced, how it was designed to be both aesthetic and ergonomic. Our design professor happened to know a owner of the Wegner-Mogensen store; therefore, we have a chace to go there and the owner himself even gave us a lesson about the history and the manufacturing proccess.

There are a wide range of chair in the store, and according to the owner’s intro. We’ve learned that every single chair was the pursuit of extreme perfection. Even a chair with its ordinary appearence, it gives a luxurious momment to the person who sits on it. that leaves no surprise to that the US government choose “the chair” in particular for welcoming the foreign ambassadors.

Habit: using amart phone to noting/accounting/calender/Internet /novel/games Preference: in love with the cloth,wood, material in warm color. Jessica has just recently entered the workplace, however,the boss was harsh and picky on her works. The veterans are not willing to help, she felt desperated but with no where to release.She was frustrated as soon as she get home. The back of the chair slightly sunken whilr the lower part slightly rises high for the better comfort and the support of the ertebra to the sitter. And also we save about 5 cm space for the foam covering.

The base and the tube are the places to hide the chords for cleaness, a rug provided underneath was to avoid slippery.
Inspiration A Lamp Inspired By the Natural Movement
I was particularly interested in Origami art
A shelf of plant was made previously,
Previously I’ve tried various of folding methods to see what would fit the lamp
and now I wonder wheather the plant will move or not?
In order to show the aesthetics of patterns and geometries.
Reserch shows that many plants do move, such as the Mimosa, Clover,Nepenthes, Sun flower,etc In the end, I was fasinated by the simple pattern of the clover leaves as well as its nyctinastic movement Furthermore, it also fits my goal of prsenting the simplified origami aesthetics.

Different materials were picked to fold the lampshades However, papers was too soft and easy to be torn Plastic boards are thicker but hard to fold and might cause a crack After testing many materials, I’ve made up my mind to use the Tracing paper(180 pounds) Due to its fine thiness,transparency and its toughness.

Micro Switch Principles
The feature of the clover is that it fold its leaves when approaching night known as the nyctinastic movement

Thus, I want to take it as the mechanism of the light switch to give a brand new experience for the users. Simply unfold it to turn it on and fold it to turn it off and for the storage. Micro switch is a sensitive switch device Normally it is as a current path; and it will become open circuit when trigger the electric wire

Device Testing In order to find the suitable mechanism,I’ve gone to the electric material stores for professionals, profesors of the field and I’ve bought several devices to test. Such as the Magnetic switch,Alternately switch, the Reset swith and the Micro switch The pictures showed the connection of the Micro switch and the Led light When trigger the electric wire, the switch will turn off and turn back on while release it.

This is a Logo design for an imaginary enterprise. It is a newly founded beer company which want to provide a refreshing drinking experience for the youngsters. We decided that the brand name would be “Monday” wich also have a sound means “dizzy day” in chinese. I took the “Mon” part for graphicing to provide a dizzy image after drinking our beer and feel happy ever since.

Red envelop Recieving the red envelop with money in it resemble recieving the good luck in traditional chinese custom. Thus, it is a new red envelop that I design for our family’s use.With the sheep head sealing on its top meaning the coming of the year of the sheep(in our lunar calender)

Architecture Modeling This is a real architecture model built by cardboards,Paste filler and Styrofoam. I chose the fallingwater for imitation since it remarked the era of modern architecture and it is also very chaelleging .We also did the surroundings to show it magnificent cantilever and the water fall.

Chinhua-NCKU Workshop This is a workshop that combine people of the Beijing Chinhua University with our school, NCKU who majored in Industrial Design to participated in a design workshop in Beijing. We were distributed into several random groups to work, with so much different cultural backgroud ,we were really having a remarkable experience.

INFINITI The topic of this workshop is for us to design a series of accessories that represent the INFINITI company. Including a suitcase and a car use cup. Also, we were first put into group discussion about its form features and the main pursuit of the company and through a great deal of presentation, we gradually developed our design . At last, we’ve the modeling for our final presentation for the Infiniti company.

Dutch Design Course In the Dutch Design Course, we were introduced into different groups with different dutch designers leading us to their projects. Including the DIY T-shirt workshop for kids of the Hektik, the fashion show with fancy lighting of the allan vos and the electric times, the builing of a Taiwanese style water architecture of Water Architect, futheremore, the product reserch and design for the Tuen Fleskin.

The Floating Garden
I’ve learned a lot of pratical skills in this project.Such as how to negociate with the employer, the builing of a house, some boy’s scout techniques and how to cooperate with the foreigners. I saw Willem almost everyday and we share lots of our cultural backgrounds. The Floating Garden project is the one that was participated in the most. Willem Van Doorm is a young designer and also our group leader. We’veinvolved in the project for nearly a month.the parts including recyclable materials gathering, builing and designing

Interpreter This is a scarce experience happened during our my Internship in mainland China, I worked in a design company also a design counsellor of the region goverment. This experience is about two german design company that cooperate with our company to help the regional manufactuers for innovate product design.They are IPPD and Defortec . My job as their interpreter for 5 days is to first prepare for the vocabularies about manufactuing and thier previous products info., then I’ll follwing them all the way through the visiting to the local companies for bussinness. Afterwards, I’ll put the meeting records into orders and makd them into well-organized documents.
