My name is Thomas Alan Backman Jr. I became interested in design at a young age through simulation city building video games. My passion for creativity brought me to continue this pursuit of a landscape design profession. I hope to express my own self through my designs and help make a difference in communities. I’m also very passionate about family and friends, photography, traveling, running, the natural environment and sustainability, and history.
I currently attend Cal Poly Pomona in process of receiving a Bachelors of Science (B.S.) in Landscape Architecture. I plan on attending graduate school in the future after my undergrad to further my education and future career. I aspire in life to be happy and successful in many aspects and be able to work as a landscape architect. I don’t know exactly yet what I want to do in Landscape Architecture, but I have gained interest in areas such as Landscape Urbanism, Sustainability, and environmental protection, and any type of international landscape work. My goal is also to get paid from photography through social media marketing. I hope to travel in both landscape architecture and photography to help change various regions and experience the rich culture our world has to offer to gain vast insight.
