WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW TO START YOUR STUDY WITH TAFE QUEENSLAND
MY FIRST DAY
I know when my Orientation Session is.
I have a campus map and know how to find my classrooms.
I have a pen and paper.
I know where my Faculty Administration team is located.
I know how to organise my Student ID and have a copy of my confirmation of enrolment.
I understand how to activate Concession discounts on my TransLink GoCard (if eligible).
I know where to get great coffee and food on campus if I need it.
MY FIRST WEEK
I have successfully enrolled in all my classes for the semester and know my timetable.
I have read and understood the TAFE Queensland Student Rules.
I have my student login and password for digital access.
I have completed a library tour and/ or know how to use the Library.
My teacher has provided me with the relevant uniform (if applicable), textbook or course material lists and where to purchase them.
I know how to access student support and counselling if I need it.
I have met all my teachers and know how to access learning support if required.
I know where campus security is located and how to contact them in case of a security or first aid incident.
If I need a Personal Emergency Response Plan (PERP) I will approach my teacher and put one in place.
I have considered my obligations for this course and have agreed to commit to them for the duration of the course.
I know how to access the Student Portal to update my personal details.
MY CONNECT
I know what Connect is and why it’s important.
I know how to log in to Connect.
I know how to find and contact my teachers in Connect.
I know how to find the Connect YouTube channel.
I have downloaded the Brightspace Pulse Connect app on my phone.
I have completed the Student Online Orientation (SOO) module in Connect.
I know how to find my Study Units on Connect.
