Architects of Exploration

ONE OF MY FAVORITE ASPECTS OF BEING A TRAVEL EDITOR IS LEARNING ABOUT TRENDS AND INNOVATION. As we’ve collectively held our breath numerous times over the past two years, awaiting news and updates, something worth celebrating happened along the way. Travel leaders and luxury brands got to serious work. And while attending a recent travel conference, I witnessed this innovation first-hand. First-of-its-kind expedition ships. Hotel openings blurring the lines between art and architecture. Restaurants showcasing craft menus to support local communities even more so. And spas unveiling wellness offerings catered specifically to these times.

While in the midst of adversity, progress is continually made and one aspect of travel remains the same: the power of connection. As we continue to journey together, the essence of travel—expanding personal perspectives—will never change. My hope, as you read these pages, is that your inner adventurer takes action. Go on that wishlist Caribbean trip. Book the cruise. Celebrate your milestone in a far-flung land. Because we, too, are innovators of our own journey.
