We sell and replace more than a third of our fleet each season, and this season’s new bikes are highlighted by more than 25 brand new Giant mountain bikes. Due to popular demand, we carry several women’s bikes including the Giant Lust full-suspension mountain bike and the Giant Tempt front-suspension mountain bike. In addition to the always popular Giant Trance and Stance lines of men’s full-suspension mountain bikes, we also have a few other front suspension models, such as the Giant Talon, Revel, and ATX models. We’ve also added Framed Minnesota series fat bikes to our rental fleet this year. These bikes do great on sand or snow, and are also a lot of fun just to ride the trails. If you are thinking about buying a new bike, you can try out the latest models on an actual ride and not just in a parking lot. We can then order you a brand new bike and generally, we’ll have it ready for you in just a few days. All of our bike sales come with free 30-day and one year tune-ups. New Boat Launching Policy If the water level allows, we will resume trailered boat launching at the marina. The information we gathered through the town hall meeting and survey process in February was invaluable in helping us understand what is important to our membership. The feedback was reviewed by staff and the board of directors during early 2016, resulting in approval of new boat ramp rules, to be introduced this summer. Please review them below and call the Beach Club staff at 530-5879460 if you have any questions. • Each member who plans on launching a trailered vessel at the Beach Club will be required to register their vessel with Tahoe Donner. This entails providing the association with a copy of the vessel registration and proof of insurance for the vessel with Tahoe Donner named as additionally insured. This can be done in person at the Member Services office at Northwoods Clubhouse or via a link on our website. We will also provide on the link a release of liability waiver that must be signed by the vessel owner. Once registration has been completed and the waiver signed, you will receive a sticker to present to marina staff that

all these requirements have been met, and you will be permitted to launch. We encourage you to do this well in advance of the day you are planning to launch; however, you will be able to fulfill the registration requirements at the Beach Club as well. • No launching vessels alone is permitted. You must have a minimum of two people to launch a vessel with one observing the ramp and launch zone for pedestrians and other hazards. Tahoe Donner staff cannot drive a vessel or the vehicle towing the trailer. • We will have designated staff to direct traffic on the launch ramp. Please follow the directions of the boat ramp monitor at all times when launching a vessel. • All members or guests on board your vessel will be charged a daily access fee even if they do not plan on using the Marina Beach Club property other than the boat ramp. Again, please feel free to call the Beach Club manager, Ali Kovach, at 530-587-9460 with any questions concerning the changes to the launch policies. tahoedonner.com | PRIVATE AMENITY |

2016 CLINIC AND FITNESS PROGRAM This summer will be an exciting one as we look to continue our existing programs to include fitness classes, extended instructional clinics and also our ever popular Cardio Tennis and Ladies Drill and Play. Be on the lookout for some of these exciting options. All pricing and schedules for the 2016 clinic and fitness programs will be posted at least two weeks prior to the start of each month and will include a month view calendar that will be posted online at www.tahoedonner.com/ tennis/. Calendars are also available in printed form at the Tennis Center.

TENNIS FITNESS CLASSES Yoga for Tennis, TRX and other great fitness classes are on the list for the summer of 2016. CARDIO, THEMED INSTRUCTION, MINI-CAMPS, AND EVENING CLINICS The 2016 tennis program will have all of your favorites on the schedule in addition to a number of new classes. Cardio Tennis will return as the mainstay of our cardio program, but look for new twists to this classic. Themed clinics will also return with minicamp options as we look to extend our popular themed classes to one and a half or two hours. Evening tennis programs will continue in the 2016 summer schedule as well. These evening classes will include cardio, themed and minicamps as well. This program will run from May through October.

Pickleball: the Fastest Growing Sport in America It’s not a new sport, but it’s a new sensation sweeping the nation. Pickleball, a cross between badminton, tennis and table tennis, is winning over the hearts of many athletes and we offer it right here at Tahoe Donner Tennis Center. Unlike tennis, pickleball is played on a smaller court, extending 44 feet long by 20 feet wide, which is about one-fourth the size of a tennis court. Because of this shorter distance, it requires less mobility, giving people of all ages and abilities more opportunities to maintain a rally and react to opponent advances. But it’s quite possibly the social element is most enjoyable. Every Saturday there is a Pickleball Clinic at 12 p.m. The cost is just $13 for members and $16 for their guests, and includes all equipment needed. Parties may also bring their own equipment or buy pickleball rackets and balls at the Tennis Center if desired.

Whether you are an experienced equestrian, a new mountain biker or an avid trail runner, the Tahoe Donner summer trail system has a piece of trail just for you. Contact us at 530-582-9672 or email us with any questions at trails@tahoedonner. com.

TRAIL ETIQUETTE AND SAFETY Hiking, biking or horseback riding on Tahoe Donner’s trails is a wonderful way to enjoy the great outdoors. With the increasing popularity of these outdoor activities, the number of encounters with other trail enthusiasts is also increasing, so we all need to do our best to be respectful, patient and courteous to others. By following the guidelines below, we can all have a safer and more enjoyable outdoor experience.

ADVICE FOR ALL TRAIL USERS RESPECT: It's a simple concept: if you offer respect, you are more likely to receive it. We’re all out there to have a good time. Friendly respect will diminish negative encounters on the trail for all users. COMMUNICATION: Let folks know you’re there — before you’re there. Do your best to let your fellow trail users know you’re coming. A friendly greeting is a good method. YIELD APPROPRIATELY: Anticipate other trail users as you ride around corners. Bicyclists should yield to hikers and equestrians. Step downhill and off trail to let them pass. Bicyclists traveling downhill should yield to ones headed uphill. In general, strive to make each pass a safe and courteous one.

36 36

BE INFORMED: It’s YOUR responsibility to be in the know. Questions about where to ride, trail conditions, outdoor ethics and association regulations are important to know before you head out on the trails. If you have further questions, please contact the trails manager at 530-582-9672 or trails@ tahoedonner.com. You may also contact Member Services at 530-587-9400 or info@ tahoedonner.com.

ADVICE FOR HIKERS AND BIKERS When hikers or mountain bikers encounter horses on the trail, they should step off the trail on the downhill side, and talk to the rider and the animal (this lets the horse know you are a person). Keep talking in a calm voice as the animal passes. If you approach a horse from behind it’s critical that you announce yourself loudly but

HELP PROTECT OUR TRAILS AND OPEN SPACES DON’T PLAY IN THE MUD: When trails are muddy or otherwise saturated with water, please refrain from using them until they have had a chance to dry out. This will allow the trail tread to remain narrow and stable and will also reduce erosion. DO NOT CUT SWITCHBACKS OR TAKE SHORTCUTS: Enjoy where our trails take you; you won’t be disappointed. Cutting switchbacks and creating shortcuts damages plants and

calmly so you do not scare the animal. Let the rider know you’d like to pass at the next safe location. Do NOT ride up quickly on stock. It’s dangerous for you and the rider.

ADVICE FOR HORSE RIDERS Though most hikers and bikers will yield the right of way to horses, remember that some folks do not have experience with stock and may not react as expected. These encounters

disturbs soil, and contributes to erosion. PICK UP AFTER YOUR PET: Dog waste along our trails is not only unsightly but can also hurt water quality and spread disease. Please grab a few of the dog litter bags found at most Tahoe Donner trailheads before hitting the trails, and please dispose of used litter bags in trailhead garbage containers. Per association rules, dogs need to be on a leash when on Tahoe Donner trails and at Tahoe Donner amenities.

Voluntary Summer Public Trail Pass Program This program is a voluntary monetary contribution for public trail users. Its purpose is to recognize the financial commitment and trail maintenance efforts the association has made and continues to make on the 60+ miles of multi-use single-track and double-track summer trails.

• The valley is a “pack in/pack out” destination. Please do your part to keep this a litterfree landscape. • Respect the privacy of those who live adjacent to Euer Valley, including at the end of Alder Creek Road. Sound levels should be kept low and vehicles should be parked on the street near the Alder Creek Adventure Center.

For those who are not Tahoe Donner members, a suggested donation of $5 for adult and $2 for child daily use, or $30 for adult and $15 for child summer pass is encouraged, and is available for donation at Alder Creek Adventure Center, Bikeworks, and Member Services; online at our ShopTD site; and at select iron rangers at the major trailheads of Glacier Way, Teton Way and the Euer Valley gateway located at Alder Creek Adventure Center. Trail access for members and guests of members is free.

TIPS FOR SAFETY Before you leave for the trail, know where you are going. It is a good idea to tell a responsible person where you will be and when you expect to return. Check the weather forecast so that you know what to expect on your adventure. Bring drinking water and stay hydrated. Before you leave your vehicle, make sure all valuables are out of sight and your doors are locked.
