Welcome! I would like to personally take this awesome opportunity to say WELCOME to Capturing HerStory - The Gathering! A weekend that is predestined to change your life! It is my very first conference and I am super excited as I anticipate a mighty move of God! I would like to take a moment to share with you from my heart what led to the birthing of this awesome Gathering. In March of 2018, I had an encounter that changed my life. It came at a pivotal, and at the same time, a breaking point in my life when on the outside the things that I had set my hands to do were prospering: I had just published my first book: “Capturing HerStory”, my assignment at my local church working with the youth was doing well, my outreach ministry LOVE Seed Foundation was picking up momentum. All was looking good. Except, inside, I was in a million pieces. My personal life had so much going on and I was broken...make that smashed into pieces...completely shattered! On the outside I was smiling, but on the inside I was bleeding away. I wanted to pack my bags and move to another planet so I wouldn’t have to face life’s issues. I wanted peace and seems like no one could understand, or even help me. Eventually, I decided to cry out before the only One who could change my situation and then that’s when I was able to receive the help and healing that I needed. I remember the Lord spoke to me and said you are not alone. What you just walked out of, many (other eomen)are going through and don’t know how to get the help they need to get out of it. He said the church is doing the same thing the world does. When hurting, the world turns to drugs and alcohol and other illicit sources to numb their pain. The Believers hide out in church services to numb their pain. We show up every time the door opens not to get into His presence to worship but we show up for a “hallelujah” moment where we can shout our pain away...only it doesn’t just go away...and instead we return home still broken and hurting anticipating the next high. We continue to do the ministry work but we never take a moment when we’ve been wounded to stop and be healed. If we hide behind church doors and shout loud enough, and just bury ourselves being busy doing the work of the Lord, and taking care of everyone else it’ll all just go away. But does it? Though many of our “issues” are spiritual in nature and we need to approach them from a spiritual perspective (with the Word of God, much prayer and fasting), we cannot dismiss the fact that some are also practical and must be dealt with on a practical level. There must be a balance of the two and it takes Godly wisdom to discern what’s what and how to proceed accordingly. God longs for us to enter into his gates with thanksgiving and (for us to) enter his courts with PRAISE! He desires that when we come into his house we come in with a heart full of worship. We worship with our voice and our temples (bodies), we worship with our minds and our spirit, we worship via our giving, sacrificially. It should all be about a worship experience. We are moved emotionally: a head move, but God is calling us to a spiritual shift: a heart move! But in order to get there we have to rid ourselves of some issues. It starts with us being healed from the inside out. It starts with us not being afraid to deal with situations the enemy sends our way to hinder our progress. We cannot afford to ignore the situations we face on a day to day basis. We cannot spiritualize everything hoping it will just go away over time. As Believers it’s time for us to open our spiritual eyes and allow the Lord to give us wisdom so we can allow Him to heal us and cause all things to work together for our good. He can use our broken pieces and mend them together and create a masterpiece out of our lives. But, we have to be willing to confront what has been presented to us and be bold enough to allow your pain to produce purpose in you! Isaiah 66:9 (NCV) “...I will not cause pain without allowing something new to be born,” says the Lord...” This message is not just for “lay members” but for ALL Believers who are seeking after God’s heart and wants to be renewed and restored! It’s a message for EVERYONE. I pray that after this weekend, our lives will never be the same again. I pray you will have a God encounter that will push you in line with His purpose, plan and will for your lives.
God Bless! Humbly,
Nadine Johnson Host

About Our Conference Host Born in Manchester, Jamaica, West Indies, Nadine migrated to the United States at the age of thirteen to be reconnected with her birth mother. Five years later, she became a single teen mother. As a young mother of three boys, she had a head-on collision with life that taught her many tough lessons. These experiences ignited a desire within Nadine to empower people from all walks of life. This desire took form into an organization, LOVE Seed Foundation Inc., which she is the founder and along with many volunteers are able to reach underserved (underprivileged) communities here in the United States as well as abroad. She is the author of her first book entitled “Capturing HerStory”, a book to empower women from all walks of life to be all that God is calling them to be. In her book she candidly shares some of her most vulnerable testimonies of trials & triumphs which has shaped her life up until now. Nadine is also a member of the New Greater Bethel Ministries for over 15 years where she serves faithfully as Youth Pastor under Pastor John Boyd ll and his beautiful wife, First Lady Evangelist Valerie Boyd! She is also the founder of “Esther’s R.O.S.E. Buds” an empowerment group for women. Her passion is to share her testimonies and victories to encourage, heal, empower, and bring restoration to others.
