2024 Maritime Draft Horse Sale

May 24th and 25th 2024

At the Fredericton Exhibition Grounds, Fredericton NB.

Viewing begins May 24th at 3pm with line horses in the Coliseum followed by the hitching of horses in the yard.

A meet and greet will take place during this time on the grounds at 6pm.

Horse Pull start at 7pm in the arena.

Saturday May 25th sale starts at 8 am with equipment and tack sale leading directly into horses.

A selection of draft horse and equine industry related vendors will be available on site.

2024 Maritime Draft Horse Sale

Terms and conditions of sale:

• Lot numbers will be assigned on first come first serviced basis.

• If an entry is registered the registration papers, signed transfer and if applicable breeding information must be sent with entry by sale day. It is the sole responsibility of the consignor to furnish these papers. Payment will not be issued until such papers are turned over to office staff.

• All horses with health papers and proof of their negative Coggins test will be advertised and announced as such. The onus is on the consignor to provide this information accordingly.

• GUARANTEES on horses are strictly between buyer and seller.

• If your horse is not sold you must have a release form from the main office before taking the horse from the barn. NO HORSE will be released from the barn without a release form.

• Each horse selling must be left with a halter on for the new owner, if not a new one will be issued to the buyer at the seller’s expense.

• It is the consignor’s responsibility to have the horse up to the ring in sale order. The consignor is responsible to take their own horse through the sale ring. Horses sell in hip tag order unless otherwise stated. You are responsible for your horse while on sale property.

• All horses must go through the sale ring. ABSOLUTELY NO PRIVATE SALES! Any horse on premises during sale days will be charged an entry fee.

• Entry Fee $100.00 (HST included). Plus Commission on sale is 8% for horses (to a maximum of $800). NO SALE additional $100 plus HST.

• Equipment, harness and tack: 15% commission, in the event of “no sale” the cost will be 5% of last bid.(to a maximum of $300)

• Consignors and spectators participate and attend at their own risk. The committee will not be held responsible for any loss, theft or injury during the sale.

• All entries must be submitted by April 1st to make the catalogue.

• Right to refuse: The sale committee reserves the right to reject any horse brought to the sale for reason such as, but not limited to incomplete documentation, unsoundness, not properly turned out or poor quality.

• Terms: Cash, Credit, Debit or Good cheque. All cheques made payable to the New Brunswick Draft Horse Association. Visa, MasterCard & Debit available with 2% surcharge. (there will be an additional $50.00 charge for any NSF cheque)

• ALL HORSES TO BE PAID IN FULL PRIOR TO LEAVING GROUNDS.

All horses and any additional changes/information or Reserves must arrive at the office no later than 9:00 A.M on sale day.
