HAN FENG Han Feng is a bespoke fashion and costume designer based in Shanghai and New York. Born in Nanjing, China, Feng graduated from the China Academy of Fine Arts, Hangzhou, in 1985, specialising in graphic design. Shortly thereafter, she moved to New York to begin a career designing scarves and accessories, which remain her trademark today. Feng launched her first ready-to-wear collection at Bryant Park fashion show in New York in 1993. Following much critical success, having earned several awards for her clothing designs in the United States, Feng embarked on two new directions in 2005: she relocated her studio to Shanghai and made her costume design debut in Anthony Minghella’s Madama Butterfly at the English National Opera in London and the Metropolitan Opera in New York. She has since created costumes for numerous opera houses in Europe and the United States, and advised D es i g ned i n collabo r a t i on w i t h t he accompl i shed fash i on des i g ne r , t he H an F en g C ollec t i on i s a med i t a t i on on H an F en g ’ s ca r ee r , w h i ch spans mo r e t han t w o decades .
