Tips & Tricks When working with two colour knitting or contrasting knitting you want to be assured your yarn is not going to bleed or run dyer or back -staining on the lighter yarn. Bleeding, it plagues every textile dyer, whether in fabric or in yarn indie or commercial. As a dyer we have a responsibility to minimize as much bleeding as possible. Unfortunately it is not always the case and the person who purchased the product is disappointed. It is not always the dyer or the process. It can be the water used or the soap. Water in some regions of the world have chemicals or are high in minerals can react to any dyes used on fabrics or yarn. The soap used can react with water and react on the yarn. Do not fret this does not always occur. We want to help you to avoid disappointment. Place your more saturated yarn into a bowl of cold water soak for 10 minutes. If the water becomes tinted. Rinse the skein till it is clear. If the water has more colour giving away. Then proceed to step two: add 1 tbsp( 50g of yarn) of white vinegar to the bowl with cold water let soak for 30 minutes. Rinse skein until water is clear. If you continue to have problems be sure to contact the supplier or the dyer.
