Where Are They Now: The (film's) Von Trapp Family
It’s been almost 55-years, 1965, years since The Sound of Music hit the Big Screen. The film was produced and directed by Robert Wise, and starred Julie Andrews
and Christopher Plummer, with Richard Haydn and Eleanor Parker. Based on the memoir The Story of the Trapp Family Singers by Maria
von Trapp, the film is about a young Austrian postulant in Salzburg, Austria, in 1938 who is sent to the villa of a retired naval officer and widower to be governess to his seven children. After bringing love and music into the lives of the family, she marries the officer and together with the children find a way to survive the loss of their homeland to the Nazis.
Andrews has since starred in 1979's 10, 1982's musical film Victor Victoria and The Princess Diaries franchise and has also voiced characters for Shrek and Despicable Me. Her most recent public appearance was at the 2015 Academy Awards, where Lady Gaga performed a 50th anniversary stage tribute to the film.
The film was released on March 2, 1965, in the United States.. By November 1966, The Sound of Music had become the highestgrossing film of all-time— surpassing Gone with the Wind— and held that distinction for five years. The film sold 283 million admissions worldwide and earned a total worldwide gross of $286,000,000. too.

Heather Menzies-Urich played 13-year-old Louisa. The Canadian actress went on to star in 1978's Piranha and 1979's TV movie Captain America since appearing in The Sound of Music, and had a leading role on the short-lived sci-fi series Logan's Run. Menzies-Urich's last onscreen appearance was a cameo in the 1990 television series American Dreamer.

Duance Chase played the role of Kurt, the fourth child in the family.
Karath has since starred in guest roles for television series including All My Children, Family Affair and The Brandy Bunch, though she hasn’t appeared in any other projects past the 1980s.
Chase ended his career in film just one year after The Sound of Music with a guest stint on 1966's television series The Big Valley. The former actor changed professions and now works as a software engineer for geologists.
She appeared in Spencer's Mountain (1963) with Henry Fonda and Veronica Cartwright (she subsequently worked with Veronica's younger sister, Angela Cartwright, in The Sound of Music). 500 Dolcevita, refined elegance for a masterpiece The new 500 Dolcevita special edition holds the same values that underlie the most authentic Italian style that is embodied by the "Dolce Vita" years. As befitting for a timeless beauty, the new car sports an exclusive Bossa Nova White livery, enhanced by a red and white beauty line drawn around the entire silhouette. Reflecting the elegance of the era, the new 500 has a cursive "Dolcevita" chrome badge on the rear that perfectly complements the chrome bonnet line, the chrome door mirror covers and the body coloured side moulding with the "500" logo. The look is completed by elegant 16-inch white alloy wheels and fixed glass roof on the hatchback version. The convertible version of the 500 Dolcevita, for the first time in the history of the model, is fitted with a white-and-blue striped top with embroidered red "500" logo inspired by the deck chairs and beach umbrellas of the Italian Riviera. This special edition embodies the values of Italian Glamour and the lifestyle involving fashion, design, art and the aesthetics of everyday life, taste and imagination.
These are the ingredients of the identity and charm of Italy, of which the 500 is one of the most famous symbols in the world. The anniversary is even more exciting because this year it coincides with the 120th year of the Fiat brand, a milestone that only a few car manufacturers in the world can boast. Available in two configurations, hatchback and convertible, the 500 Dolcevita special edition includes the 69hp 1.2-litre engine with manual transmission. It can also be paired with the optional Dualogic gearbox. Ordering in the UK will open at the end of July, with prices starting from ÂŁ17,995 for the hatchback version, and ÂŁ20,995 for the convertible. The 1980s iconic car was the Porsche 911 with the large rear spoiler know as a Whale Tail and came to symbolise wealth and success. Some would say that this shape is the best and most sought after.
CCA have four wonderful examples coming to auction on the 3rd August at the Warwickshire Event Centre. Leading the selection is a 1986 Carrera 3.2 with the G50 manual transmission. This is a fabulous car with just two owners from new and a warranted 64,000 miles. Estimated at £50,000 to £60,000 this is a real time warp car supplied new by AFN Porsche in Guildford and recently recommissioned, it comes with a large history file and original keys.

Two years on we have a 1988 Carrera Targa in Ivory White which has been in the same ownership for the last ten years and is a lovely example of a 911. A UK supplied car with 99,500 miles and a detailed history, this car also won the East Midlands Concours in 1998 for Porsche Club GB. Estimated at £28,000 to £32,000. If we take a step back to the late 1970s on offer is a 1978 SC Targa. Having just come out of long storage this is a 911 with lots of potential. A left-hand drive car finished in Minerva Blue and with the optional Whale Tail, it was imported from Holland in 1986 and

Torrevieja Translators are happy to announce that we are now official affiliates of DGT (Tráfico) and can now process a lot more Driving Licence Exchanges quicker than before. As the demand has been huge, we are no longer accepting “Attending With” appointments but will complete these for the few clients that have requested this service and paid their deposit. We are in the process of contacting all clients who either have dates from us later in this month (11th Feb onwards) or the start of next month, to move everyone that wants it, forward to next week, or the following week. plus clients who have completed medicals but are awaiting a date for their licence exchange. As many of our clients are spread over this part of Spain, we are going to offer four drop off and pick up points in different areas to help make it easier and more convenient. These are located in Quesada (Rojales), San Miguel, Torrevieja and Zenia Boulevard. We will contact all customers with details shortly on the dates and times (all will be in the early evening and weekly, so don’t worry if you can’t do it next week, there are plenty more dates to do it before 29th March) but you must first have your Driver's Medical completed before we can do the final stage of the exchange. We are really pleased about this development as many British people wish to have their licence exchanged and DGT (Tráfico) have recognised that we can process these a lot faster with this new affiliated status. Sebastian, Brandon and Clarke from the Torrevieja Translator team are here to help make this process as easy and fast as we can for all our clients.
A Few Fun Facts You Might Not Know about the 1966 TV Series Batmobile
Batman TV series/1966 movie Batmobile (driven by Adam West) By Keith `Nicol
from lawn sprinklers
According to SCPR.org, there are some interesting facts about the original Batmobile.
The “jet engine on the car is actually a 5-gallon paint can
The vehicle was built from a nonfunctioning 1955 Ford Lincoln Futura concept car that cost $250,000 Car customizer George Barris bought the concept car for $1 and had three weeks and $15,000 to turn it into the Batmobile, which included adding a Ford Galaxy chassis The oil slick sprayers on the car were made
More Batman Trivia Built by legendary car customizer George Barris, legend has it that this car was put together in just 15 days, though there wasn’t any actual record of the car being put together at that short amount of time.
The car was originally painted a dull gray with white stripes, but when they first shot the car coming out of the Batcave with Adam West, Barris felt the vehicle didn’t pop — so he went back and repainted it with 40 coats of super gloss black paint and orange stripes The Bat-parachutes on the back to slow the vehicle actually worked George Barris got a ticket driving the Batmobile There were six cars used during the shooting of the TV show and the movie, including two tour cars, a stunt car, a crash car and a “hero” car used for close shots.
After being given $15,000 (which was quite a lot in ’66) and the short time frame, like any realist would do, Barris used a Lincoln Futura, which he bought for $1 about a decade earlier, and repainted it black.Barris had to fit all the ridiculous crime-fighting gadgets to the car. The gadgets included: the Batphone, the Emergency Bat-turn Lever, the Batray, the Bat Beam and best of all, the Bat-tering Ram. It even comes with a working parachute from a drag racer.
After ABC canceled the series, the producers waited to see if anyone else would pick it up, then bulldozed the Batcave set when it appeared nobody would. Two weeks later, NBC offered to pick it up, unaware that the set had already been dismantled; unwilling to invest in the high cost of rebuilding the entire set, NBC ultimately declined to acquire the series.

A total of three hundred fiftytwo "Holy" words were used by Robin from "Holy Agility" to "Holy Zorro". Before going on the air, this show received the worst

The BEST Way to Move Forward By Robert Landau
Why don't things always turn out the way we'd like them to? That's a loaded question! While there are a number of ways to answer that question, here's one that you might resonate with; I believe that our path in life is never a straight shot. Rather, it's full of many twists and turns. If life were as easy as a straight shot, we wouldn't be here. The trick is how you deal with the many curves that your life's journey tends to throw you from time to time. When you want something to happen, how do you go about making your wish a reality? Somewhere along the line you need to see and feel the endresult even though you haven't started to point yourself in that direction. Your mind is a powerful tool that
you can use to great effect. It can be your best friend or your worst enemy. If things don't turn out the way you were expecting, here are some important things to remember:
1. Don't freak out! Stuff happens but it's how you choose to deal with it that makes all the difference in the world. You might not be able to change external events, but you can certainly make the choice as to how you want to react to what's happening 2. Acknowledge it Acknowledge that things didn't complete themselves in the best way possible and then let it go. Letting it go allows you to take the next important step 3. Move on Leaving disappointment behind is one of the healthiest things you can do. It's when you choose to dwell on a negative that things can backfire. If you constantly keep thoughts of why things didn't
work out the way you think they should have, you'll never move out of that space of disappointment. Remember that thoughts always turn into things. Moving on lets refresh the situation and allows you to set another goal that will have a better ending. If you're listening to an album of someone's songs and you don't like the first number, what do you do? You move on to the next. And so it is in life. You make the choice if you want to dwell on hearing the same song over and over. You also have the power to make the choice to move to the next number on the album
4. Reset Now that you've left disappointment behind, create a better version of exactly what you want to happen. Before you even start to go along the path of claiming what it is you want to happen, make sure you totally believe that you'll receive what you're asking for and if you truly deserve and are worthy of it. So many prayers and meditations go unanswered simply because, deep down, there was a core belief that preventing the final manifestation from occurring
Realize that you are here for a reason and know that life is never a straight shot. Understanding that there will indeed be some twists and turns along the way keeps you firmly on the path you were always meant to travel. Finally, always work at embracing life with open arms. If something doesn't work out, move on to the next adventure. You have more power than you think you do.

Sito Veracruz met with fellow residents of Amsterdam in 2016 to discuss the impacts of vacation rentals and what his city could do to better regulate them to lessen the detrimental impact they have on the city. Veracruz and others were part of a civic group called Amsterdam Smart City, which was created with the goal to make sure Amsterdam is affordable and accessible for locals as the city grows. That local request morphed into a co-op-wide rule that applied the Venice rule to all the cities in the network. People can already preregister as hosts, and Veracruz said they hope to have at least 20 hosts in each pilot country before launching. They hope to launch in the U.S. by the end of the year.

7 sensational summer tips can leave your skin dull, dry, wrinkled and with hyperpigmentation (brown spots). Protect all exposed skin with a broad spectrum SPF (protects against both UVA & UVB) of at least 30, preferably a mineral SPF which acts as a sunblock to instantly block the sun's rays. Look for a product that's waterproof and don't forget your lips, ears and the back of your neck. Re-apply frequently. " Rejoice - the warm weather is (hopefully) finally here. Long days spent soaking up the rays, barbecues and beaches; it all sounds like great fun, but chances are your body, face, hair, and eyes may not all agree. Keen to help you stave off the bad side of summer, and stay looking gorgeous, we enlisted the help of Amanda Elias, beauty expert and founder of Bravura London, to divulge her top tips for protecting your looks at this time of year. 1 - " The first thing you want to think about is sun protection; the sun is the main cause of premature ageing which
2 - " You may know about cleansing, exfoliating and moisturising your face, but do you spend as much TLC on your body? Ensure you exfoliate at least twice a week and if possible, slather yourself daily (after your shower) in your favourite body lotion."
3 - " Do you find your skin flushes when you get hot? Keep a refreshing water spray or toner spray at hand to spritz your face and neck when you feel yourself overheating. " 4 - " Avoid wearing perfumes on your skin; when the sun hits the areas of skin that contain perfumes it can cause irritation. Fragrance your hair by spraying your hairbrush then brush through your locks, every time you swish your hair you'll be surrounded by a beautiful fragrance. " 5 - "Sun and lip gloss aren't a good combination - remember the days of people baking in the sun covered in baby oil? Same thing. Get yourself a good lip balm that contains an SPF (you can get plenty that have colour) or line your lips with a lip pencil then top with a clear SPF balm. " 6 - "Parched skin after too much alcohol and sun? Intensely nourish your skin with an oil such as jojoba
oil, this non-comedogenic (won't block your pores) oil is more of a wax and is close to your skin's natural oil. For sunburnt skin, help the healing process with pure aloe vera gel and apply 3-4 times a day. " 7 - "Don't forget to hydrate yourself. To keep your body functioning properly and to aid in the removal of toxins from the body it needs to be well hydrated, so be sure to drink 2-3 litres of liquid (sadly this doesn't include dehydrating substances such as cocktails and coffee) per day."
