Things, that are alive and growing, are referred to as living things. If we look around us, we’ll be able to find so many examples of living things. Some of those things are plants, animals, and human beings.

Opposite to living things, things, that are not alive and can’t grow, are referred to as non-living things. However, like living things, if we look around us, we’ll be able to find so many examples of non-living things too. Some of those things are tables, chairs, and stones.

As we discussed earlier, plants are living things that grow. As you grew from a baby to a young kid, and you will further into an adult, similarly plants also grow throughout their lives. The different stages of growth in plants are:

Seed – The seed part of a plant’s life is similar to how you were before you were born.



Seedling – The seedling part of a plant’s life is similar to how you were when you were a small baby.



Small plant – The small plant part of a plant’s life is similar to how you are right now, a young kid.



Big tree – The big tree part of a plant’s life is similar to how you will be when you become an adult.



Pupa – The pupa part of a butterfly’s life is similar to how you are right now as a young kid or how a plant is at the small plant stage.
