personal statement My name is Sumantha Nuamthanang. I am from bangkok, Thailand. I graduate in the year 2013 from School Of Architecture and Design, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi [KMUTT]. With Bechelor Degree in Architecture programe [International] My passion in life is travelling. It has always been my dream to visit every country on this earth at least once. I love to discover and learn about a wide variety of things. Even as a small child I was always asking questions and trying to learn as much as I could. I know that no matter where my travels take me, I am always going to be learning new and exciting things. I learned to never give up your dream and be successful in life. Life is so short and we must make good of it every minute of the day. When i was young i travel to many places with my family but since I further my study to higher institution, the schedule is getting tighter and busy. I really hope that I can find free time and fulfill my dream to travel all around the world in the future. I just love to travel because it makes me realize that life is so beautiful and there is so much to admire and treasure in this world. It also gives me chance to explore new places and learn different cultures and traditions while meet new people that were born and live in different ways than mine. Furthermore, it does not only increase my knowledge but also help me feel relax with my family and forget all the problems that I have. Each travel experience teaches me something new and made me become a better person. Although I do not get the opportunity to travel overseas too often now, but I am still grateful that at least I have been to many beautiful and great places in Japan, Singapore, Lao, and Malaysia which I will reminisce the memories for the rest of my life. One of the most memorable places that I have visited is Japan. I went there with my friend. It was a wonderful place and I really enjoyed traveling in Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka somuch. I wish I will backto Japan soon, but this time I will go to urban zone instead. The latest place that I have visited is Singapore which I went with my friend last month. This tiny island nation, Singapore is the definition of highly urbanized city. It’s clean and orderly. The city-state is home to an incredibly diverse population mostly consisting of Chinese, Malays and Indians. With this diversity comes a delicious and unique food option.I can eat where the locals eat. I take the hawkers, stalls and small restaurants along the streets for granted to taste authentic Singaporean cuisine. They have the best food, in my opinion. Nasi-limak is a must-order!I think good thing of Singapore is transportation systems are so organized, well-maintained and easy to understand! Bangkok should take a cue from Singapore.I think an architect must travel, see the world. This is what I believe. Whenever I travel, I’m not just looking at interesting places to go but I also observe the environment. How people behave, how the city developed, why things happen and much more. As an architect, we are not only building beautiful buildings.we are creating an environment, a place for people to live in. The more I travel, i became more concern to my surrounding, to the buildings that I create. So I wish one day I will be a travel writer with Architecture sketch and Architecture photo like architecture journal.
Sincerely, Sumantha Nuamthanang

+ FORM MAKING
PROCESS OF MAKING BASE
The Cause of Crazing
CRAZING uncontrollable Beauty
Crazing is a fault of glazed ceramic. Characterised as a spider web pattern of cracks penetrating the glaze it is caused by tensile stresses greater than the glaze is able to withstand.
Because the clay and glaze of a piece have different chemical compositions, they respond differently when heated in the fire of a kiln. Both clay and glaze will expand under heat, but they do so at different rates. They also contract when cooled, again, at different rates. If the rates of contraction are too different, and the glaze contracts more than the clay, the glaze will crack under the tension. Most crazing occurs after the final firing of a piece, when the piece has cooled. Some crazing occurs at other times, during thermal stress or if the pottery is left exposed to extremely cold weather.

the way of Making , the way of living In the world in which we are living today, and it is rightly called “the global village”, we cannot imagine having unity without diversity. It is not only that people in different parts of the world are diverse, but also now we have a lot of diversity in our own cities, towns, indeed in our neighborhoods. People who live next door to us are often very diverse in colors, cultures and religions. Thailand and Japan were contact for a long time since World War II to the present. Thailand and Japan are the countries that have friendly relationship between economic, social and cultural cooperation has always been and will likely increase over time.
