Don Duncan expands his auto, tire business By BRIANA WILSON Bureau Chief When Don Duncan opened his first tire and auto shop in Millbrook, he never thought he’d be expanding the business just three years later. But on he recently did just that. An addition to Don Duncan’s All American Auto and Tire opened adjacent to the current facility on Aug. 9, and the Millbrook Area
Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the expansion on Thursday, Aug 26. Duncan’s business doubled in size. There are six bays in operation at the first locations, at 3760 Magnolia Drive. Five additional bays were built with the expansion, bringing the total to 11. Five additional employees were also added, bring the total number to 12. “The new addition has more
than doubled our service capacity for the Millbrook store, making it even more efficient and convenient for our customers,” Duncan said. Brenda Dennis, the Chamber’s executive director, congratulated Duncan on the rapid growth of his business and thanked him for all he does within the city’s business community. “He lifts other people up,” See DUNCAN, Page A2

Wetumpka Nutrition offering delivery By BRIANA WILSON Bureau Chief
Several people dressed in Tim Burton-themed costumed roamed the streets of downtown Wetumpka last week.

Wetumpka Nutrition is now offering a new service to its customers: delivery. The decision was made in an effort to reach more people, according to a message posted on the business’s Facebook Page. With Company Street closed, which is where the business is located, the business hasn’t been getting as many customers through the door. “We are going to try something a little different with our hours with the road being closed still,” the post reads. “We are going to be doing delivery from 7-9 See NUTRITION, Page A3

Summertime Farmers Market comes to an end By BRIANA WILSON Bureau Chief The city of Wetumpka hosted its last Farmers Market for the summer season on Thursday, Aug. 26. Dakota Steed, the city’s Farmers Market manager, the weekly event was a huge success. “The city and the vendors were blown away by the response,” he said. “Everyone was pleased with the turnout every week.” The market averaged about 17 vendors per week. The city’s market is state certified through the Department of Agriculture’s Farmer’s Market Authority, which means that the market featured locally grown fresh produce from farms throughout the state.
