In August 2009, 287,500 tourists stayed in Estonian accommodation establishments, 48% of whom stayed in Tallinn.
Among primary markets, British tourists stay the longest (2.3 nights), and Latvian tourists spent the shortest time (1.35 nights).

Room occupancy rates and average price of bednights ** decreased In August 417 accommodation establishments offered accommodation services for tourists. The room occupancy rate was 58%, 7 percentage points lower than in August of the previous year. The average cost of a bednight in an accommodation establishment was 503 kroons, which is 14% (80 kroons) less expensive compared to August 2008.
Travellers by air and by sea decreased The number of passengers at Tallinn Airport was 130,650, down 26% compared with August the year before. The number of passengers passing through the Tallinn Old Harbour totaled 816,200, down by 2% compared with August last year.
The average length of stay for tourists was 1.70 nights (-7%).
