Shorter length of stay among tourists in Tallinn The average length of stay for tourists was 1.65 nights (-5%).

Among primary markets, British tourists stay the longest (2.63 nights), and Latvian tourists spent the shortest time (1.37 nights).

75% of accommodated tourists arrived for holidays 76% of foreign tourists stay in Tallinn for leisure purposes, 20% for business, 3% for attending a conference and 1% for other purposes. 57% of domestic tourists visit for leisure purposes, 32% for business, 8% for attending conferences and 3% for other purposes.

Average price of bednights ** decreased, but room occupancy rates remains almost unchanged In December 342 accommodation establishments offered accommodation services for tourists. The room occupancy rate was 40%, 1 percentage points higher than in December of the previous year. The average cost of a bednight in an accommodation establishment was 486 kroons, which is 13% (74 kroons) less expensive compared to December 2008.

Travellers by air decrease, but by sea increased The number of passengers at Tallinn Airport was 92,500, down 15% compared with December the year before. 1.35 million passengers passed through Tallinn Airport in 2009 (-26%). The number of passengers passing through the Tallinn Old Harbour totaled 519,000, up by 1% compared with December last year. Passengers in Tallinn Old Harbour totalled 7.24 million (+0%) in 2009.
