NGMA RETAIL PLAN (1:50) Retail space is on landing

Available space is used in the best way possible to achieve optimum results to create a retail shop. • The store layout is explored through the grounding principles of designs. •Feeling of openness along with proper circulation is created • Clever use of flooring, the position of lighting are effective ways of directing customers to the space. • To avoid the central area to be clustered proper use of wall is being incorporated for display.

Merchandise is easily visible and accessible in an environment that creates a positive shopping experience for the customers while passing through the space.

Furniture placement in the plan

• A deliberate pathway through the space is created for the store so that people visiting have an easy journey from one area to another and in the process can view as much as the display offered.

HERITAGE RETROFIT AGRASEN KI BAOLI INTERPRETATION OF BAOLI

MIRROR AND STEEL INSTALLATION An experience has been created by increasing the age value and use value which appeals directly to our emotions.

An old photograph captured within a frame of buildings

BURIED IN THE HEART OF THE CITY A very old photograph is captured within a new frame but the photograph seems to be in the verge of loosing its essence. As time went, it lost the protective layer which once held a rich history everyone cherished.

The jarring collision of ancient and modern architecture has affected the frame of the photograph by increasing its essence

Pigeons there give a hope of freedom and life

A FRAME WHICH REVEALS AND PROTECTS

The old baoli is hidden in the bowels of the skyscraper of the city. Now the steel structure creates a link between baoli and the outer frame of building.

The pentagon shaped mirror above the staircase gives five reflections of a single object.

The old photograph with the new born mirrors reveals and reflects a hidden symmetry warped in the folds of time.

Mirrors work one of two ways to make a space look larger. Putting a large mirror in front of the stairs reflects the entire space of baoli to make it look twice as large. It creates the impression of another staircase beyond. It is done to further enhance the illusion.

A REVEALING REFLECTION

The two parallel mirrors create an infinite number of images.

Mirrors reveal only what your mind believes it sees While looking at the reflection of the niches, it appears as if one is looking through it and seeing the object on the other side.

The old baoli stands calmly in front of you, the mirror within reveals your deepest memories, confusing thoughts and delightful dreams.

RESIDENCE PROJECT The design brief for the project was to design a house according to the culture that prevails in our house, for which we had done a detailed study on our culture. The space was mainly divided into three zones: private, public and semi public. Furniture layout, window and door openings were thought about. The windows were designed and positioned keeping in mind the directions of the sun.
