Your EMR and Charting • Don’t open your EMR from home, EVER. • If you chart in an office, close your door. If you chart in an open area, put on headphones to signal to others you are unavailable. • C = MD/DO. Patient notes do not have to be works of art. • Notes & billing should take no more than 5 minutes to complete. 16

• Turn your pager off when you are not at work or on call • Take work email off your phone & don’t check email when you are off hours
