Click the image above to sign up for Family Connect and Family First Semiinar! Family First Seminar is an 8-week course that focuses on the discovery of the family’s place on campus. The program intentionally puts family members in contact with various campus partners, allowing them to learn about services and resources while providing an opportunity to have questions answered and build their network. Through Family First Seminar, family members will be able to demonstrate knowledge of university services and resources and become familiar with the best ways to effectively support their student’s growth and development in college. Family members will also be encouraged to become active members of the campus community. The program culminates with a special graduation for family members who have attended at least 7 out of 8 sessions. The student of the family members that graduate becomes eligible for a $500 credit on their student account if the student also meets their criteria, they receive the credit will be added to the student's account at the beginning of the spring semester.
CLIFTON STRENGTHS Clifton Strengths Finder is an assessment that provides results of your top strengths! Here at A&MSA we have training Strengths Coaches, are looking for Strengths Champions, and want to focus on utilizing strengths to your advantage over focusing on weaknesses. All first year freshment take this assessment and other students have an opportunity to based on their university engagements.
Are you interested in getting your top 5 strengths as a parent or family member? If so, review the Clifton Strengths site and send an interest email to family@tamusa.edu. You may also take the assessment directly from the website.
Help us help you cultivate your best self, relate to your student, family members, and other contacts in a more productive way. Remember, we love your students but you are just as important to us!

Seven A&M-San Antonio faculty and staff members collaborated to share their expertise on ways students can enhance their overall well-being. This article provides an overview of eight wellness domains and includes practical tips individuals can implement to maximize wellbeing in each respective domain. This article has been published on the Dean of Students website. Clarity Child Guidance Center is a not-for-profit solely dedicated to mental health care for children ages 3-17. In order to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 Delta Variant, the Student Counseling Center will primarily offer services via phone and/or Webex. Any students interested in scheduling an appointment should call (210) 784-1331 Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. If you are experiencing a crisis and/or emergency, please call (210) 784-1331 or visit the Student Counseling Center in Modular C (rear entrance) any time Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Just head over to Handshake, our online system. On Handshake, your student will find many opportunities including postings, career events, work study opportunities, and more.
