Obtaining automatic admission to the University holds no extra conditions for applicants, though additional requirements may exist for those pursuing certain degree programs (e.g., Nursing).
HAVE MILITARY CREDIT?
Some of the courses you took while serving in the military may be applicable to certain degree plans. Submit official military transcripts when you apply to have your records reviewed. Learn how to obtain your military transcript by contacting the Office of Veterans Affairs at 361.825.2331.

OTHER THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND WHEN YOU APPLY:
• If you have more than 24 credit hours, you cannot disregard your college record and apply for admission as a freshman. • You cannot transfer any remedial or duplicate college credits. • Repeated courses are calculated within the GPA according to the standards and rules of the granting institution. • A&M-Corpus Christi requires its students to have six credit hours in one foreign language or American Sign Language (ASL) in order to graduate. Note: This requirement may be fulfilled with two credits in one foreign language or ASL from high school. If you met this requirement in high school, you must submit an official high school transcript to the Office of Recruitment & Admissions.

COLLEGE OF BUSINESS The College of Business is focused on academic excellence and engagement with the business community to impact both student opportunity and economic development in the Coastal Bend. The College cultivates entrepreneurial spirit and innovation through its Coastal Bend Business Innovation Center. This small business incubator offers students the opportunity for professional business internships with up-and-coming companies, including those developing practical uses for unmanned aircraft technology. The College is also home to the South Texas Economic Development Center, the hub for assessing and analyzing the area’s economic impact. COLLEGE OF SCIENCE & ENGINEERING The College of Science and Engineering is preparing students in an array of life-changing studies including aerodynamics, software development, genomics and marine science. History and Tradition on the Island Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi traces its beginning back to 1947, when Ward Island became the home of the University of Corpus Christi with 312 students enrolled. In 1989, the University joined the A&M System and has since grown to five colleges. The Island University now has more than 11,600 students from across the nation and 50 countries.
HOMECOMING Our annual homecoming spans an entire week. The Tip-Off Picnic, Lighting of the “I” Spirit Rally and a downtown Homecoming Parade are just a few of the traditions culminating with a basketball game and naming of the Homecoming Court.
ISLANDER REVUE From stomp dance routines to cultural performances, the “Islander Revue” music and dance extravaganza showcases a friendly competition of our talented student groups and organizations.
THE BIG EVENT This one-day experience allows students to engage in civic responsibility and connect with the Corpus Christi community while learning valuable leadership skills as they plan, promote and organize events to help those in need.
RING WISH Our semiannual ring ceremony includes the “Islander Ring Wish” tradition in which students receive a sand dollar, symbolizing their future goals, inside their ring box. The students then walk to Lee Plaza to toss their sand dollars into the Lee Plaza fountain.
CONVOCATION These annual ceremonies officially welcome First-Year Islanders to campus and celebrate the beginning of the students’ entry into the Islander community. First-Year Islanders are given medallions to signify the beginning of their academic journey.
As an Islanders fan, you’ll create memories that will last a lifetime! Students get in free to all the games with your SandDollar$ ID, including women’s beach volleyball, the newest Islanders sport. Join the “Blue Crew” for invites to pre-game tailgating events and special activities, then cheer on the Islanders to victory at one of our many venues on the Island and in downtown Corpus Christi!
