Tamworth Hastilow Drama Festival 19 - 23 March, 7pm Two Rivers Torc Theatre Tickets: £6 each evening Saturday evening two plays and awards presentation

Enjoy five nights of theatre with three plays per evening. The multi award-winning Total Arts Community Theatre will host the Hastilow Drama Festival bringing together some of the region’s most talented performers, with performances ranging from comedy to gritty drama and classics. Tamworth Musical Theatre Company is back in New York City for its next musical production of Annie. It’s 1933 and New York is in the grip of The Great Depression. Annie is a fiery young girl who lives with other girls in an orphanage run by the tyrannical Miss Hannigan. Annie's life changes dramatically when she is selected to spend Christmas at the residence of the billionaire Oliver Warbucks. With the help of Mr Warbucks, Annie begins a search for her missing parents and helps inspire President Roosevelt to help the people worse hit by the Depression. However, Miss Hannigan, her ex-con brother Rooster and the ditsy Lily St Regis are hatching a money-making scheme which threatens to destroy everything for Annie. Featuring well known songs such as ‘Tomorrow’, ‘Hard Knock Life’ and ‘Easy Street’, this production will appeal to people of all ages.

Our St. George's Day has become a massive highlight in the events calendar attracting visitors from all over the country and this year is set not to disappoint! Experience living history as you walk through the medieval encampment and witness live-action jousting in the arena. This year features a new jousting team, dragon, falconer, children’s zone and music by Claret under the town hall. So get your swords and shields at the ready for an epic adventure in Tamworth Castle Grounds! Tamworth Castle is open too! Visit the living history characters in Tamworth’s very own medieval motte and bailey castle. (Charges apply for Castle entry)

TREE COSY Project launch: Saturday 20 April Tamworth Castle Grounds Activity Centre (Opposite the Tennis Courts) Join this “CommuKnitty” project to brighten up Tamworth’s open spaces. We will not only be knitting to button up the bark, we will also orth tamw g n i m be working with Tamworth Dementia Friendly Communities to #bloo cosy cover the town in Forget-Me-Nots to raise awareness and #tree make Tamworth even more Dementia Friendly. To join in, pick up your free knitting pack from the Community Together CIC at Tamworth Activity Centre. Deadline for knitting to be returned - Saturday 1 June.

Pick up your seeds from Ankerside Shopping Centre and meet the StreetScene Green Team at 2pm at the outdoor gym to plant your seeds on the Riverbank. Plus take part in the free Blooming Tamworth arts and crafts workshop in Ankerside Shopping Centre in the unit opposite Boots.

Join Mole, Ratty and Badger on their mad-cap adventures in this heart-warming tale of friendship, mishap and mayhem with award winning Quantum Theatre’s brand new adaptation of Kenneth Grahame's family favourite. Spring is in the air and Mole has found a wonderful new world. There's boating with Ratty, a feast with Badger and high jinx on the open road with that reckless ruffian, Mr Toad. What more could such firm friends wish for? But after Toad's latest escapade, can they join together and beat the wretched weasels? Picnics and blankets welcome. Coffee Craving UK will be providing freshly ground coffee and tasty treats. No glass, gazebos or alcohol to be taken on site.

Music Under the Stars Saturday 6 July, events start at 6pm. Music starts at 7pm. Tamworth Castle Grounds Bandstand If you like good music, good food, drink and a whole new experience then you’ll love this! With Tamworth Assembly Rooms scheduled to open this autumn in time for the building’s 130th birthday, we would like to celebrate with you. We take you back to experience all your favourite acts that treaded the boards of “The Assems” including The Beatles, Rolling Stones and many more. With the backdrop of Tamworth Castle, musicians will take to the bandstand while STREET FOOD and drink vendors serve up delicious delights from the coolest, quirkiest of vehicles. The night’s music will be performed by Sonic Harmony, Liam Rhodes and Daniel Hatton.

Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice… An all-star cast directed by award-winning Tim Burton shows a story of a recently deceased young couple who become ghosts haunting their former home, and an obnoxious, devious demon named Beetlejuice who tries to scare away the new inhabitants permanently. To add an extra level of atmosphere this is a silent cinema experience complete with wireless headphones. Headsets will be provided on entrance.

Children’s Zone: £3 per child, adults free. Tamworth Castle Grounds will come alive with a host of activities for children, grown-ups and fourlegged friends too! This year’s event will see the return of the much loved dog show, Tamworth’s Strongest Man as well as community stalls organised by Tamworth Lions and a dedicated Children’s Zone. Radio Tamworth will be hosting live music from the bandstand throughout the day, showcasing some of Tamworth’s most talented musicians.
